At the 2026 Future Stars of Chinese Entrepreneurs Annual Conference held in Guangzhou from July 10 to 11, themed "The Moment of Leap," Huang Yehua, Vice President of WeRide Inc., emphasized that globalization should not be a reckless expansion. Instead, it requires creating "showcase projects," prioritizing safety and compliance, and engaging in deep local operations to achieve a leap from single-point breakthroughs to global replication.
Huang Yehua pointed out that the initial step for autonomous driving companies going global is to avoid spreading resources too thinly. The priority should be selecting representative cities with genuine demand to meticulously build "showcase projects." This strategy can create a powerful demonstration effect. For instance, after WeRide Inc. successfully operated in Abu Dhabi, its expansion into Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries progressed very rapidly. Similarly, after establishing a solid strategic foothold in Singapore, its entry into markets like South Korea and Japan was significantly accelerated. By replicating the "showcase project" model from one city to another, and from one country to the next, a company's path to globalization can become increasingly smooth.
