Byd Company Limited has officially entered the Azerbaijani market, unveiling five new energy vehicle models at a brand launch event held in the capital city of Baku.
The event, themed "From Fire to Flow," took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, a local architectural landmark. The theme reflects the nation's historical moniker as the "Land of Fire" and its rich energy heritage, while the center's fluid design symbolizes innovation and sustainable progress.
Accompanied by the traditional melodies of the Azerbaijani tar instrument, the presentation blended cultural elements with modern stagecraft and lighting, highlighting a fusion of tradition and green technology. This underscored BYD's commitment to partnering with Azerbaijan for a sustainable future.
The models introduced include the Seal 06 EV, Seal 06 DM-i, Yuan UP, Yuan UP DM-i, and Seal 06 DM-i. This lineup spans both pure electric and DM-i super hybrid technology platforms, creating a product matrix designed for various scenarios such as urban commuting, family travel, and long-distance driving, thereby offering local consumers a wider array of new energy mobility options.
Beyond passenger vehicles, BYD has been contributing to Azerbaijan's public transport green transition since 2024. Over 600 BYD electric buses are currently in operation locally, providing residents with greener and more efficient public transportation services and aiding the city's low-carbon development.
Concurrently, BYD is collaborating with local partners to advance the construction of a production base in the Sumgait Industrial Park. This initiative aims to foster the local new energy vehicle industry through localized manufacturing and industrial cooperation, injecting new momentum into Azerbaijan's green transportation transformation.
As the global leader in new energy vehicle sales, BYD's vehicles are now available in over 120 countries and regions worldwide. This entry into the Azerbaijani market represents a significant step in BYD's ongoing strategy to deepen its presence in Central Asia and the Caucasus region.
Moving forward, BYD will continue to leverage its leading new energy technology and global footprint, working alongside local partners to promote the development of green mobility and contribute more Chinese innovation to sustainable global transportation.
