2月8日，比特币短线拉升突破44000美元，再创历史新高。AssetDash数据显示，目前比特币市值超过8107.03亿美元，与知名公司股票市值相比，排名升至第7位，超越特斯拉（市值现报8078.29亿美元）。
特斯拉在最新公布的公告中称，作为1月最新投资政策的一部分，已对比特币投资总计15亿美元，并可能不时或长期获取和持有数字资产。
特斯拉称，预计将于近期开始接受以比特币作为其产品付款方式，遵守适用法律且最初将在有限基础上进行。特斯拉称，可能将此类现金部分投资于特定替代储备资产，包括数字资产、金条、黄金交易所交易基金和未来根据新政策规定的其它资产。
这已经不是马斯克第一次为数字货币“带货”了。
