Amazon Pharmacy will expand its same-day prescription delivery service to approximately 4,500 towns across the United States by the end of this year, adding coverage for nearly 2,000 new communities. The company announced on Wednesday that the expansion includes states such as Idaho and Massachusetts. Amazon initially launched its medication delivery service in 2018 through the acquisition of PillPack. In October of last year, the company partnered with WeightWatchers to deliver medications, including GLP‑1 weight-loss injections, to members of the weight management firm. In December, Amazon also began offering prescription dispensing services for select common medications through electronic terminals at its One Medical primary care clinics. One Medical, a nationwide primary healthcare provider acquired by Amazon in 2023, offers patients basic medical and urgent care services for an annual subscription fee of $199.
