Dow Jones01-13

By WSJ Staff

Nvidia $(NVDA)$, Tesla $(TSLA)$, MicroStrategy $(MSTR.AU)$: As rising bond yields knocked stock indexes, highly valued tech stocks came under pressure, as did speculative assets such as shares of bitcoin-buyer MicroStrategy.

Pfizer $(PFE)$, Sarepta Therapeutics (SRPT), 10x Genomics $(TXG)$: The companies are among dozens giving presentations a JPMorgan's healthcare conference, which kicks off today.

Nippon Steel (JP:5401), U.S. Steel $(X)$: The U.S. government extended a deadline for the companies to drop their planned deal. President Biden blocked the sale of U.S. Steel to the Japanese steelmaker earlier this month.

Exxon Mobil $(XOM)$, BP $(BP)$, Shell $(SHEL)$: Rising oil prices, driven in part by new U.S. sanctions on Russia's energy industry, boosted shares of big crude producers in America and overseas.
