Trump Shares More Letters Declaring Tariff Rates for Countries -- WSJ

President Trump on Monday shared a half a dozen new letters informing countries of their new tariff rates, which will go into effect on Aug. 1.

The letters, published on Truth Social, say that the U.S. will be enacting anywhere from 25% to 40% tariffs on a range of countries. Laos and Myanmar, for instance, will get hit with a 40% tariff starting on Aug. 1. Kazakhstan and Malaysia, on the other hand, will see each see a 25% tariff.

Trump earlier on Monday published letters to Japan and South Korea that say he plans to put into effect 25% tariffs on their products coming into the United States. The letters say the countries will be allowed to continue to negotiate with the U.S., with Trump keeping open the possibility of either raising or dropping the tariff rates by the end of July.
