Market Chatter: Palantir's AI System Set to Become Core US Military Program

Palantir Technologies (PLTR) is set to have its Maven artificial intelligence system designated as an official US military program of record, Reuters reported late Friday, citing a memo sent to Pentagon leaders and military commanders.

In a March 9 letter, US Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg said embedding Palantir's Maven Smart System across the military would enhance capabilities to detect and respond to threats, with the change expected to take effect by the end of the current fiscal year in September, the report said.

The designation is expected to streamline deployment across military branches and shift oversight to the Pentagon's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office, while future contracting will be handled by the US Army, according to Reuters.

Maven, a command-and-control platform that analyzes battlefield data and identifies targets, is already widely used by the US military and processes inputs from satellites, drones, and other intelligence sources, the report said.

Palantir and the Pentagon did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
