L3Harris is investing $25 million to expand a manufacturing site for solid rocket motors, citing increased demand from the Pentagon.
The defense contractor said Monday that the investment would support a 130,000 square foot increase in manufacturing space at the company's Advanced Manufacturing Facility-South in Huntsville, Ala.
"The additional space allows us to lean forward and surge capacity in a way that directly aligns with the Department of War's demand for critical munition acceleration," L3Harris Missile Solutions President Ken Bedingfield said.
The company has tripled its capital spend in Huntsville from 2024 to 2025, the company said. The plant supports more than half of the company's solid rocket motor programs.
