Adaptive Biotechnologies is evaluating strategic alternatives for its immune medicine unit as it plans to separate the business from its minimal residual disease arm.
The company said Monday it is looking at alternatives for its immune medicine business to support its growth and capital needs, and expects to decide on a path to separation by the end of the year.
Adaptive established its immune medicine and minimal residual disease businesses as separate operating segments in 2024. In the time since, immune medicine has increasingly demonstrated its potential to generate novel biological insights, identify therapeutic targets and accelerate the development of precision medicines, and Adaptive now sees it benefiting outside of a diagnostic commercial model.
"As we look ahead, Adaptive will focus on expanding its leadership in MRD diagnostics, while pursuing the optimal path for Immune Medicine outside of Adaptive," Chief Executive Chad Robins said.
