US Declaration Clears Path for iX Biopharma Pain Drug; Shares Jump 13%

iX Biopharma (SGX:42C) said a recent US regulatory development has cleared the way for it to advance its Wafermine Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) submission to the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA), according to a Monday filing to the Singapore stock exchange.

The company's shares jumped nearly 13% in recent trade.

In a recent declaration, the US government opened an emergency use pathway for drugs to treat moderate-to-severe acute pain in military casualties. The move will allow the US FDA to consider an EUA for the Wafermine drug.

iX Biopharma said it expects to complete its EUA submission to the US regulator in the fourth quarter of 2026.

If granted, an EUA would allow Wafermine to be deployed for authorized use by US military personnel before full US FDA approval.
