GeneDx (WGS) said Tuesday it plans to add long-read whole genome sequencing to its genome testing portfolio to close diagnostic gaps and deliver diagnosis faster.
The company said long-read sequencing looks at longer stretches of DNA to identify complex genetic variation, including structural variants that may not be detected by short-read sequencing.
Long-read sequencing will be offered upfront for eligible patients, with the early access program available by the end of 2026, the company said.
