On October 23, President Donald J. Trump posted on X alleging that The New York Times used polling numbers from Wedgewood Polls that were “made up and FAKE,” and said his lawsuit against the newspaper is getting stronger.

“They used a Company, Wedgewood Polls, that ADMITTED that the Poll Numbers they published were made up and FAKE.”

Trump added: “Our powerful Lawsuit against them is getting stronger and stronger everyday.” He also wrote, “This is what I’ve had to deal with, right from the beginning!” and described “The Failing New York Times” as “ARTIFICIAL.” He closed with, “Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

In the post, Trump directed his remarks at The New York Times and referenced Wedgewood Polls by name, asserting that the company admitted the published polling figures were fabricated. He framed the issue as something he has “had to deal with” since the start and characterized his legal case as increasingly “powerful.”
