Singapore's foreign minister, Vivian Balakrishnan, said the city-state has agreed to an Indonesian proposal to establish a joint task force to contain transboundary haze, according to a release by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
The task force will ensure close coordination between the two states, with companies put on notice.
The city-state has resolved to take action against companies responsible for the haze, with wide range of legal, regulatory and economic measures to be taken to deter future violations.
The disclosures come after Singapore's National Environment Agency issued notices to several companies to provide documents under the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act.
