Alnylam Pharmaceuticals' Fundamentals Remain Strong Despite Lower-End Guidance Expectations, UBS Says

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals' (ALNY) fundamentals remain strong despite the company's expectation of 2026 revenue coming in at the low end of its guidance, which is pressuring the stock price, UBS Securities said in a Thursday note.

The company reported Q3 non-GAAP net income Thursday of $16.26 per diluted share on revenue of $1.46 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet expected revenue of $1.43 billion.

Amvuttra sales for the quarter were largely in line with consensus estimates, with 12% sequential growth in the US, but demand-driven growth decelerated to $81 million from $129 million in the previous quarter, UBS analysts said. The company's sales force expansion has not yet resulted in more prescriptions, and the low-end guidance assumes no contribution from it yet, the analysts added.

The analysts believe that the deceleration will be temporary, based on their survey of 50 physicians pointing to accelerating diagnosis and growth of patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy.

The analysts also noted that the company's 2027 guidance will be delayed to February 2027 due to uncertainty regarding the new 340B plan implementation of the US government.

UBS maintained the company's stock rating at buy and lowered the price target to $329 from $354.
