The newest models of discrete gpus $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$
High vram and cheap costs make these AMD gpus ideal for DIY consumers, who can't access the AI accelerators big companies use. You could build a "AI rig" at home with a few of these gpus and get like 72 or 80 gb of Vram relatively cheap. Equal to the price of ONE $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ geforce 4090 with just 24gb.[Miser][Miser][Miser]
You need lots of vram to run AI models. Even small business/new companies might become interested in the 2024 AI train. And with "true" AI gpus out of supply or out of their budget.
Yes. AMD's discrete GPUs business is negligible with a low market share. But, Nvidia will be supply constrained at both ends: Datacenter gpus and at their discrete gpu business. Also, NVDA has a tendency to use these "supply situations" to mark up their prices; like during the crypto mining craze a few years ago when gamers were competing with miners and NVDA was exploiting the situation and priced-power everyone.
If gamers, AI enthusiasts at home and small business all together start pushing demand up for these gpus, then AMD could become a big and unexpected beneficiary, with $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$
Taking market share from Nvidia would be more important than the revenue they bring. [Cool][Cool][Cool]
