$NVIDIA(NVDA)$  Don't understand why chip related companies stock price wiuld jump if the CHIPS act is scrapped. CHIPS act as I understood was to attract chip companies by giving them some subsidies in terms of cash. Not sure maybe my understanding was wrong.

I feel the same way. Scrapping the chips act should be causing a fall but the reaction seems to be the opposite of the expected.

Prolly because these companies don't use them in the first place. So Trump wants to scrap it to pay off the huge debt that America has and that in itself should help uplift stocks in the long run.

Found speech by Trump saying that. Basically he seems to say start manufacturing in US and get no tariffs or pay huge tariffs. So no need for cash grant in any form and to take out setup from your pockets to set the manufacturing there which is what TSMC seems to have done with the 100B investment.
