Thanks for the feature! Been trading for only 6 months and already up 216% just by catching the knives—eh, I mean, scooping up those super-sold-off counters.
Hello Tigers, thank you for watch my investing journey (Firtst Interviewed on August 12th and added on comments on August 20th and 27th.).
Q: Quick intro, can?
A: Yo, I’m Jerrying—wholesale kaki by day, night-owl trader by, well, night. My shift is 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. to watch the charts—steady, but not everyone’s cup of kopi. Got 15k followers on TikTok for my money talk, and every morning I open Tiger to read the notifications/reports and check the pre-market push before I dump them into my watchlist. Portfolio up 216% this year, steady pom pi pi.
These are the counters that paid for my bak chor mee upgrades: $Joby Aviation, Inc.(JOBY)$ $Opendoor Technologies Inc(OPEN)$ $MP Materials Corp.(MP)$ $Oscar Health, Inc.(OSCR)$ $Pony AI Inc(PONY)$ $Direxion Daily TSLA Bull 2X Shares(TSLL)$ $IONQ Inc.(IONQ)$ $Kratos Defense & Security Solutions(KTOS)$ $NANO Nuclear Energy Inc(NNE)$ $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$
And here’s when I cabut-ed (sold) them:
Q: Big capital input, ah?
A: Aiya, small-small only. I just use Cash Boost account to pump up my firepower, sibei shiok.
Q: Long-time trader?
A: Nope—started February this year, so still fresh like kueh tutu, about six months nia.
Q: Learn from any sifu?
A: Got one—Mr Alan, the OG who survived many bull-bear cycles. Came on my TikTok live and taught me the “where to buy, where to sell” cheat code.
Q: Talk shop with anyone?
A: My finance kakis lor, those kopi-o sessions confirm power.
Q: Why these stocks?
A: I hunt for counters that dance at least $0.80–$1 a day. With, say, $5k, I can sapu more shares if the price low-low. Every morning I stalk the pre-market low, then whack. And I only buy if the big boys—Vanguard, BlackRock—inside. If they’re holding, means their homework solid. If I lose money, also bo bao qiu lah—they lose even more, heng ah!
Short-term rule: blue-chip enough, intraday swing 80 cts or more, then can masuk.
Q: How to time your entry?
A: Check last five days’ floor price. If today’s low near that floor, buy. If today’s low still close to previous high, sayonara. I just “buy the day”—only buy the day.
Q: One stock at a time or many?
A: Two counters per day max, then hold. Give it three days; if still haven’t hit my target range, give one more day lor. After that, bye-bye. Exit plan must be clear: how much profit you want? Once kena, cash out. My sifu say don’t become greedy ghost.
Q: Chase those rocket-to-the-moon stocks?
A: Walao, up already how to chase? Everyone jump on the bandwagon, you end up buying peak. I only eye pre-market drops of 4-5%. Drop 0.05%? Boring—no volatility means no money. I need that 80 cts–$1 swing. Sure, AMD can swing $2-$3, but share price so high; with $5k can buy how many? Cannot hit my $4k-a-day target to reach $100k from $30k by year-end.
Q: What if your catch-the-knife becomes falling chainsaw?
A: I buy at the low-low; next day 9:30 a.m. I watch like hawk. If first wave up, I cabut fast-fast. No wave? Wait second wave. Still no? Third wave lor. Time windows important: 9:30–10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m., 3–4 p.m.—these are the golden hours I decide to sell or wait.
Q: Screen by market cap?
A: Market cap? Don’t know her. I first filter anything below $40; can buy more shares mah. More shares = bigger profit from the same $0.80 move. Small capital, big dreams. I’ll read up to confirm the drop got “legit” bad news—others sell on news? I buy the dip.
Q: Set target price based on valuation?
A: Walao, I’m a wholesaler bro. My game is buy low, sell high—same thing I do with my stock lot. Like stocking up cheap goods, then flip. Math genius or not, if you dare to throw in bigger money than me, you win bigger.
Q: Risk management?
A: Cut loss lor. If after dip the bounce don’t look strong, wait for next push and exit before day +3 ends.
Q: Can others copy?
A: Can lah—just need to catch the dip.
Q: Message for Tiger investors?
A: Be patient, wait for the dip, watch that pre-market range.
Q: End-goal?
A: Turn $30k into $100k this year—need to pull $4k every day.
Last shout: thanks Tiger for having me. My style not everyone’s kopi, so find what suits you and man
