QQQ Rebounds as Bullish Call Bet Targets Record Highs

$Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$   rebounded Tuesday, trading back near $709. Tech stocks recovered from Monday's selloff, with $NVIDIA(NVDA)$  , $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$   , $Micron Technology (MU.US)$, $Intel (INTC.US)$, and $Broadcom (AVGO.US)$ moving higher, while lower Treasury yields also eased some valuation pressure on growth stocks.

During the rebound, a large bullish QQQ options trade hit the tape, with roughly $8.5 million in premium betting on further upside over the next few months — potentially into record-high territory.

6,000 $750 Calls Target New Highs

Around midday Tuesday, 6,000 QQQ Nov. 20 $750 calls traded at about $14.18, representing roughly $8.51 million in premium.

The trade crossed at the ask and was flagged as Bullish/Open. Existing open interest was only around 2,660 contracts, suggesting this was likely a new long-call position. The next OI update should provide further confirmation.

A move above $750 would put QQQ into record-high territory. Based on the $14.18 premium, the expiration breakeven sits at $764.18.

The positioning is clear: this trader is betting that tech stocks can keep climbing over the next three months and push QQQ to fresh highs.

Gamma Exposure: $710 Is the First Hurdle

QQQ's Gamma Exposure highlights three key levels:

– Gamma Flip: ~$708.85

– Call Wall: $710

– Put Wall: $700

QQQ has moved back above the Gamma Flip and is now testing the $710 Call Wall.

Call Gamma is heavily concentrated around $710, which could keep price pinned near this level in the short term. A sustained move above $710 would strengthen the bullish setup and could open more room to the upside.

If QQQ falls back below $708–$709, momentum could weaken again, putting the $700 Put Wall back in focus.

The setup is straightforward: $710 is the breakout level, while $700 is the key support.

Nvidia Earnings Put the AI Trade to the Test

QQQ is testing this key Gamma level just one day before Nvidia reports earnings. Nvidia will release results after Wednesday's close, making the report a major test for the current tech rebound.

Investors are focused on AI chip demand and forward guidance. Hyperscalers continue to pour money into AI infrastructure, with $Microsoft (MSFT.US)$, $Amazon (AMZN.US)$, $Alphabet-C (GOOG.US)$, and $Meta Platforms (META.US)$ maintaining aggressive data-center investment plans.

Expectations are also high. Nvidia needs to show that AI compute demand remains strong enough to support current growth forecasts and elevated tech valuations.

Strong demand and guidance could provide the catalyst for QQQ to break above $710. Softer growth expectations would put the $708–$709 Gamma Flip back under pressure.

That makes the timing of Tuesday's trade particularly interesting. One day before Nvidia earnings, a trader spent roughly $8.5 million on November $750 calls, positioning for further tech upside after the report.

What to Watch

QQQ is now testing a key resistance level after Tuesday's rebound.

The short-term focus is the $710 Call Wall. A sustained break above it could open more upside, while $708–$709 and the $700 Put Wall are the key levels to watch on a pullback.

Nvidia earnings tomorrow will provide the next major fundamental test, with AI demand, hyperscaler spending, and forward guidance in focus.

Meanwhile, the options market has already produced a sizable directional bet: $8.5 million in November $750 calls, targeting a move beyond QQQ's previous high and into record territory.

708-709 gamma flip matters, but the fatter support is still the 700 put wall. If NVDA just chops after earnings, those 750 calls will bleed fast lol

8.5M in call premium is not that huge for QQQ, and 710 still looks like a real ceiling. I'd rather wait for NVDA earnings and see if vol gets crushed first
