$Intel(INTC)$ The Wall Street game right now looks like a classic game of chicken. Hedge funds are selling and pushing the stock around because they are daring the government to sell. But there likely won't be any government sale before the midterms. The government especially won't sell into weakness, since that would undercut the whole "national champion / long-term industrial policy" narrative they have been pushing since the 2025 equity deal. Once the algorithms figure out a surprise dump isn't happening, and if one does occur it will be before the open rather than during regular trading hours, the shorts will be forced to buy back the shares they used to short the stock. No reason for retail to panic sell and hand them cheap shares. I know I won't.
