The market has been rangebound and choppy since early August, with crypto, cybersecurity and software leading the stronger themes.
Overall, it’s been pretty boring — and that’s exactly where things can get interesting.
When people get frustrated after sitting through weeks of chop, they tend to chase the first sign of movement just to feel like something is happening again.
But in my experience, the first directional move after a prolonged period of chop is often the fakeout. ⚠️
My current thought is that September could give us a nice little fake move to the downside.
Everyone jumps in thinking “it’s over”, and then we rip higher into year-end. 📈
So over the next couple of weeks, I’m watching for:
📰 Fearful headlines
📉 Some potentially baseless weakness
🎯 Strong themes that continue to show relative strength
If we get that combination, I’ll start looking for swing entries in the names that are holding up best.
That’s my thought process and plan around swings right now.
Stay patient and let the setup come to you. 👊📈
