Hereās an uncomfortable investing truth:
The stock you believe in the most can sometimes be the one youāre least willing to sell.
You start with a thesis.
Then the stock drops.
You defend it.
It drops again.
You buy more.
Suddenly, youāre no longer investing based on the original thesis ā youāre trying to prove yourself right.
Iāve started asking myself one uncomfortable question:
āIf I didnāt already own this stock, would I buy it today?ā
If the answer is noā¦
Maybe the problem isnāt the stock price.
Maybe itās attachment to the original decision.
Conviction is powerful.
But conviction without a kill-switch can become stubbornness.
š¬ Be honest ā have you ever held a stock longer simply because you didnāt want to admit you were wrong?
