Everyone has been watching Nvidia and AMD. But I’m watching the stock sitting one layer behind the AI boom: $Micron Technology(MU)$ .
$MU jumped more than 2% Monday as semiconductor stocks rallied, but the bigger story is the upcoming catalyst: Micron reports earnings on September 30.
Why does Micron interest me?
AI isn’t just about GPUs. Every new generation of AI infrastructure needs huge amounts of high-performance memory, and Micron is one of the key players in HBM and advanced memory.
The market is increasingly focused on whether the current memory shortage can remain a structural trend rather than another short-lived cycle.
That makes the next earnings report particularly interesting.
📌 What I’m watching:
• HBM demand and pricing
• Data-centre revenue growth
• Forward guidance
• Whether margins can remain elevated
• Any commentary on 2027 memory demand
The risk? Memory has historically been cyclical. If supply catches up with demand, today’s strong pricing environment could change quickly.
But that’s exactly why $MU is interesting right now.
AI may be the headline. Memory could be the bottleneck.
👀 September 30 could tell us a lot.
