Memory giant Micron Technology reported its Q4 2026 earnings on Sept. 30, 2026, providing the latest insight into how the company is navigating a memory shortage caused by the AI boom.

Last quarter, the company bragged about its pricing power, flexing 84.9% margins and issuing guidance which blew through expectations. These are the top and bottom-line figures they reported in the quarter (compared with analyst estimates sourced from LSEG):

Revenue: $54.229 billion, +379.3% YoY (vs. $51.069 billion expected by LSEG analysts)

Earnings per share (adj): $33.42 / sh (vs. $31.61 expected)

In addition, the company issued guidance which validate that demand for memory and storage products is unlikely to abate as it kicks off its FY 2027:

Revenue: $61.5 billion Β± $1.5 billion (vs. $57.024 billion expected)

Earnings per share (adjusted): $38.15 Β± $1.00 (vs. $35.14)

Micron Technology's Q4 results for fiscal year 2026 exceeded expectations, with AI memory demand and future market supply and demand shortages driving growth.
Micron Technologies reported revenue of $54.229 billion and net profit of $37.701 billion in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, both significantly exceeding market expectations. Customer long-term supply agreement procurement commitments increased to $32 billion, demand for AI memory chips was strong, and data center business revenue increased more than tenfold year-on-year. The company expects adjusted revenue to be between $60 billion and $63 billion in the first quarter of next fiscal year, with gross profit margin expected to improve during the fiscal year. The CEO and CFO of Micron Technologies revealed that the supply and demand in the storage market will be even tighter in 2027 and 2028. 26 long-term orders have been signed, and more than 75% of the production capacity has been committed to by customers. Capital expenditures for fiscal year 2027 will be approximately $25 billion, primarily for the construction of new wafer fabs.
