Meta plans to bring a version of its Muse AI agent to Windows, looking to ride the momentum of the personal agent that has jumped to the top of Apple's App Store, surpassing ChatGPT.

Microsoft, meanwhile, is still working to cement its position as a key player in AI. The company has its own AI models, but they trail leading models from OpenAI and Anthropic and aren't at the forefront on performance, according to one benchmark. A recent survey also suggests developers are more likely to have used alternatives.
