Staying the Course: Why I Continue to DCA on SOXL Near EMA200 Support
My journey with Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares (SOXL) continues, and I am sticking to my strategy of dollar-cost averaging (DCA). After experiencing some ups and downs, my paper gains have returned to around breakeven, with only a minor gain at the moment. Instead of feeling discouraged by the volatility, I see this as part of the journey when investing in a highly leveraged semiconductor ETF.
From a technical perspective, SOXL is currently hovering above its EMA200 support line, an important level that I am watching closely. More encouragingly, the price action appears to be attempting to form a higher low. If this pattern develops successfully, it could signal improving momentum and potentially pave the way for a recovery. However, I understand that this setup is not yet confirmed, so I will continue monitoring the price action rather than assuming a rebound is guaranteed.
My confidence in SOXL is closely tied to my bullish long-term outlook for the semiconductor sector. With artificial intelligence, data centers, high-performance computing, and advanced chips continuing to drive demand, I believe the semiconductor industry still has significant growth potential. Of course, strong industry fundamentals do not guarantee that SOXL will rise, especially given its 3x daily leverage and the impact of market volatility.
Therefore, I will continue to DCA gradually instead of committing too much capital at once. I prefer to add in stages and remain disciplined, particularly when the market is uncertain. If SOXL manages to hold above EMA200 and establish a clearer higher-low structure, that would strengthen my technical outlook. If support breaks, I will reassess my strategy rather than blindly buying every dip.
For now, patience remains my priority. I do not need to catch the exact bottom or chase every rebound. My approach is to stay focused on my thesis, manage my risk, and let the market develop. SOXL is undoubtedly a high-risk investment, but as long as my outlook remains intact and my position stays within my risk tolerance, I will continue following my DCA plan. Consistency over noise, patience over panic, and discipline over emotion! 🐯
