Midterm election drops: actually a buying opportunity?
Markets hate uncertainty, and the midterms always bring out the noise. We usually see this annoying Q3/Q4 dip when everyone gets spooked.
I whipped up a quick chart showing how the S&P 500 historically handles midterm years:
• The pre-election sweat: Markets tend to slide right as anxiety peaks before votes are locked in.
• The relief bounce: Historically, once the dust settles and we actually get some clarity, the market bottoms out and starts climbing back up.
Honestly, if you look at the big picture, these election-year pullbacks usually turn out to be decent dips to accumulate if you're holding long-term.
Anyone else loading up on this drop, or sitting on cash for now?
