The President of the Society of Remisiers in Singapore wrote an open letter to Business Times to urge the regulators to regulate. 

How much worse can it get for a stock market that is shrinking amidst claims that Singapore is a significant "global financial centre"?

According to the letter: 84 of 680 listed companies have been suspended or are classified as inactive. 

That's 12% of all listed stocks. Why allow them to remain listed?

    Singapore is so small, growth opportunity is soo damn limited. unless u can have recurring high revenue business which translates into high divi stocks, else difficult to get investors.

    As a Singaporean, I'm proud to be vested in SG stocks. While it is less liquid as compare to HK or US market, it does have many wonderful reits and local bank stocks that did us proud.

    definitely it is something tat we need to improve for those suspended or inactive listing. Hopefully regulators will take proactive approach to punish those who act negligently or unlawfully.

    yup am very happy with REITs and bank stocks in Singapore. Although we do not have tech stocks that can compete with US, but we have some dividend stocks that can be supplementary to our retirement.
