ARK Back in China! Can Fresh Confidence Signal a New Cycle?

ARK’s first investment in Alibaba dates back to 2014, shortly after the company’s IPO. However, since September 2021, public filings have shown no record of ARK holding or voting in Alibaba — coinciding with China’s regulatory crackdown on the internet sector. This latest repurchase of Alibaba shares is therefore seen as a strong signal of ARK’s return to the Chinese tech sector. Recently, ARK has been gradually rebuilding its positions in Chinese tech names, having already repurchased Baidu earlier.

💹 China Stocks Rebound: Alibaba Leads the Charge — Real Rally or Just a Relief Bounce? --- After six brutal sessions in the red, Chinese equities finally caught a breath — and what a rebound it was. Alibaba (BABA) surged nearly 8% on Friday, dragging the broader China ADR basket higher and breaking a streak of relentless selling pressure. For traders watching from the sidelines, this rebound felt like the first green candle after a long night of red. But the big question remains — is this the start of something sustainable, or just a short squeeze disguised as a comeback? --- ⚡ What Sparked the Rebound Last week’s pain trade flipped dramatically as a few catalysts converged at once: 1️⃣ “Trump Taco” détente: Markets reacted to signs that U.S.–China tensions may be cooling after weeks of ta
Last week , #Baba was facing a nightmare. Fear guage with downwards trend . Even more worst after China tariff news. Hope it will recover slowly.

How to handle vertical spread expiration? Practical case analysis

Vertical Spread is a strategy that combines two options with the same strike date and the same type (both call or put), but with different strike prices. By buying and selling two option contracts, investors limit returns and risks, so that profits and losses are fixed within a certain range. According to different directions, vertical spreads can be divided into Bull Call Spread and Bear Call Spread. At expiration, the settlement of the vertical spread follows standard option exercise principles. The system will determine whether each Leg (Leg) is In the Money (In the Money) or Out of the Money (Out of the Money) based on the maturity settlement price of the underlying asset: if the option is Out of the Money, it will automatically be invalidated; If it is in the price, it will be automati

China Stocks Bleed as Tariff Fears Rise — Is Alibaba the One to Catch?

$Alibaba(BABA)$ $BABA-W(09988)$ After six straight sessions of relentless selling, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (NYSE: BABA) has once again found itself in the market’s crosshairs — this time, caught in the crossfire of renewed U.S.-China tensions. The stock plunged nearly 7% intraday, briefly touching the $160 level before paring some losses. What began as a fragile rebound in Chinese equities quickly reversed course as investors digested a new round of harsh trade rhetoric from former President Donald Trump, who pledged sweeping tariffs and tougher trade enforcement on China if re-elected. This sudden resurgence of geopolitical risk has reignited old fears that Chinese tech giants, already battling regul

$BABA-W(09988)$  InSight : I am evaluating the share price of the company with great confidence of my trust in the brilliance of the founder and CEO of the company. Their competency are world class.  The value per share of the company under US200 is way too cheap based on the trajectory of its future earning. It should be easily be more than US1000 in the near future. I am more inclined to think that AI bubble ( if there is one ) and the threat of tariffs should not affect its profitability and value.  In fact restriction of supply of rare earth to the world will benefit greatly for the Chinese AI and chip production companies.  For its production will not face disruption.

Alibaba at USD 160: Conviction in the Crossfire

🌟🌟🌟Trump has just reignited the trade war with a 100% tariff blitz on China.  The market recoiled.  Alibaba $Alibaba(BABA)$  $BABA-W(09988)$  plunged 8.4% to USD 159.01 on Friday.  But beneath the panic lies a paradox : Trump's TACO Trade theatrics maybe noise.  However Alibaba's AI Cloud and ECommerce empire are the signal. The TACO Trade : Trump Always Chickens Out: Wall Street coined it: TACO = Trump Always Chickens Out.  His Tariff tantrums trigger selloffs, only to be reversed when he softens or exempts key sectors like electronics. Investors now play the TACO Trade like poker : Buy the dip, bet on the&n

I'm not interested in $Alibaba(09988)$  or $Alibaba(BABA)$   However if I were interested and wanted to buy or add, I would look use the moving average as support to buy. For HK BABA, it's at the 20ma about $165 now. You can add if you die die must buy BaBa now but I would rather wait till it hits the 50ma at $140 which coincides with a previous swing high. That makes it a stronger support. For US BaBa, it's between 20ma and 50ma. This most likely means it's going to fall to 50 ma at $145. This price also coincides with a previous swing high.  Therefore, checking both HK BABA and US Baba... 50ma is a good price to buy.

Alibaba is rated a buy, driven by strong AI ambitions and expanding leadership in China's cloud and semiconductor sectors. Alibaba's June quarter showed 10% of comparable revenue growth, indicating a clear business turnaround. Cloud Intelligence Group revenues surged 26% YoY, with AI-related product revenue maintaining triple-digit growth for the eighth consecutive quarter. Despite short-term profitability declines due to investments, Alibaba's technicals and valuation suggest further upside as it positions itself as an AI superpower.

I sold this earlier to take profit and revisited this counter and pick up some at $170. I added more at 163 and I am looking to add more seeing that it has gone into the 15x. Intend to load heavier next week if it drops below 150.
