For US customers aged 60 and above, searches on Airbnb for summer travel rose by more than 60% between February and March.
\n
The company is also ready for more customers to use Airbnb for longer-term stays as they take advantage of greater acceptance of remote work. It said that nearly a quarter of stays last quarter were for 28 days or more, up 14% from 2019. Shares are down slightly in premarket trading.
\n
DoorDash: People are still ordering lots of food delivery even as restaurants open back up for traditional dining. DoorDash reported a 198% jump in revenue last quarter to $1.1 billion even as it dealt with a shortage of workers, and increased its full-year outlook.
\n
\"As markets continued reopening and in-store dining increased across the US, the impact to our order volume was smaller than we expected, which contributed to strong performance in the quarter,\" the company said, though it cautioned that may have been partially attributable to stimulus checks. Shares are up almost 9% in premarket trading.
\n
Disney: Streaming has carried Disney through the pandemic, with Disney+ growing to more than 100 million subscribers. Yet the biggest star in Disney's media universe appears to be shining a little less bright, sending shares down 4%.
\n
The company said Thursday that Disney+ now has 103.6 million subscribers, below the 110 million Wall Street was expecting. That's forced investors to wonder: Is that because people are getting vaccinated and stepping away from streaming? Netflix also reported sluggish subscription growth last quarter.
\n
Down but not out: Disney said it remains on track to reach its long-term subscriber goals despite the apparent slowdown. It's betting that as the pandemic eases, it will be able to produce more movies and shows, helping to bring in new customers.
\n
Whether it's right will become clearer in the months ahead, which will pose the true test of whether people actually ditch their sweatpants, get out of the house and shake up the economy once again.
\n
It could get easier to get a credit card without a credit score
\n
For years, if you didn't have a credit score it was extremely difficult to get a credit card or certain types of loans. But a new plan among some of the nation's largest banks may help Americans without traditional credit histories get approved.
\n
Ten banks — including JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Wells Fargo (WFC) and U.S. Bancorp (USB) — have tentatively agreed to a plan to share data like bank account deposits and bill payment activity to help qualify borrowers without traditional credit histories, according to the Wall Street Journal.
\n
The push for financial institutions to come to a data sharing agreement came from a program run by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The OCC has confirmed there is a plan, but the details of the agreement among the banks still need to be worked out.
\n
Should the proposed arrangement go through, it would mean that if you don't have a credit score but you have a bank account at Wells Fargo, for example, you can use that financial history to help you get a credit card with another bank, like JPMorgan Chase.
\n
\"This will give millions of Americans the opportunity to access credit that's essential to building wealth — buying a home, starting a business, or financing education,\" Trish Wexler, a spokesperson for JPMorgan Chase, told CNN Business.
\n
The backstory: There are currently 53 million people without a credit score, according to the Fair Isaac Corporation, the creator of FICO credit scores. These consumers, who are disproportionately lower income and people of color, face higher borrowing costs because they're forced to turn to products like payday loans.
\n
Banks and lenders refer to those without credit history as \"credit invisible.\" This group can include young people or recent immigrants, as well as people who haven't used credit in a long time or who have lost their access due to financial difficulties.
\n
The business angle: Big banks may also be eager to revise their policies as online upstarts chip away at demand for their products.
\n
\"Some of this cooperation among the biggest banks may be a bit of reaction to smaller banks and fintech companies infringing on their space,\" said Matt Schulz, chief industry analyst at LendingTree.
\n
Target will temporarily stop selling trading cards amid frenzy
\n
Target (TGT) has announced that it will stop selling trading cards in its stores following a violent dispute at one of its locations — a sign of just how overheated the market for collectibles has become.
\n
The details: Last week, a Target in Wisconsin was locked down after a man was physically assaulted by four others over sports trading cards.
\n
\"The safety of our guests and our team is our top priority,\" Target said in a statement. \"Out of an abundance of caution, we've decided to temporarily suspend the sale of MLB, NFL, NBA and Pokémon trading cards within our stores, effective [Friday].\"
\n
The cards will still be available online, the company said.
\n
Remember: The value of trading cards has skyrocketed in recent months during the Covid-19 pandemic. That's grabbed interest from both amateur and professional investors looking to cash in on spectacular returns.\nTarget previously was limiting card purchases to just one item a day, saying that guests were lining up overnight to get their hands on hot items, per CNN affiliate WISN.\nWalmart (WMT), for its part, said it will keep selling cards in stores for now.\n\"We are determining what, if any, changes are needed to meet customer demand while ensuring a safe and enjoyable shopping experience,\" a spokesperson said in a statement.\nUp next\nData on US retail sales, import and export prices and industrial production arrives at 8:30 a.m. ET.\nComing next week: Home Depot (HD) and Lowe's (LOW) report earnings as the housing market booms.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"DIS":0.9,"DASH":0.9,"ABNB":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2221,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":191840372,"gmtCreate":1620871316496,"gmtModify":1704349600458,"author":{"id":"3574572004481450","authorId":"3574572004481450","name":"Yongi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5c06318aac4514e34762a2a9c9406f64","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574572004481450","idStr":"3574572004481450"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good stock","listText":"Good stock","text":"Good stock","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4bebfccf8c2d43d96b70607f2304ce39","width":"1080","height":"1818"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/191840372","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1114,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":193873495,"gmtCreate":1620781846317,"gmtModify":1704348259271,"author":{"id":"3574572004481450","authorId":"3574572004481450","name":"Yongi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5c06318aac4514e34762a2a9c9406f64","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574572004481450","idStr":"3574572004481450"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good choice from the company.. like my post thanks","listText":"Good choice from the company.. like my post thanks","text":"Good choice from the company.. like my post thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/193873495","repostId":"1190684572","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":874,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":193870100,"gmtCreate":1620781727600,"gmtModify":1704348256519,"author":{"id":"3574572004481450","authorId":"3574572004481450","name":"Yongi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5c06318aac4514e34762a2a9c9406f64","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574572004481450","idStr":"3574572004481450"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$share position","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$share position","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$share position","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/52314bbada53f9216c932e40e39a4ae7","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/193870100","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1069,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":107978421,"gmtCreate":1620442114063,"gmtModify":1704343776637,"author":{"id":"3574572004481450","authorId":"3574572004481450","name":"Yongi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5c06318aac4514e34762a2a9c9406f64","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574572004481450","idStr":"3574572004481450"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Sharing","listText":"Sharing","text":"Sharing","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de31b3d0c84a6b91e054170f9a4b2163","width":"1080","height":"1818"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/107978421","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":637,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":107978202,"gmtCreate":1620442090806,"gmtModify":1704343776800,"author":{"id":"3574572004481450","authorId":"3574572004481450","name":"Yongi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5c06318aac4514e34762a2a9c9406f64","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574572004481450","idStr":"3574572004481450"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$will it still dip ? Someone who's been a GM truck buyer for years is likely to stick with GM when they decide to switch to an electric vehicle.\n\nIMAGE SOURCE: GM.\nFord(NYSE:F)is also pouring resources into electric vehicles, allocating $29 billion for electric and autonomous vehicles through 2025. The company's plans include anelectric version of its F-150 pickup truck, which should hit the production lines by mid-2022. Given GM's and Ford's plans, it will not be easy for Tesla to steal away market share in the lucrative pickup-truck segment.\nOther car companies have big plans, as well.Volkswagen(OTC:VWAGY)already sells over 200,000 EVs annually andexpects that number to double this year. The company is aiming to sell roughly 2 million EVs annually by 2025 and expects to launch 70 EV models by 2030.Toyota(NYSE:TM)willlaunch 15 new electric vehicles by 2025, some of which will be under the new Toyota bZ sub-brand. The list goes on.\nNot only will all these electric vehicles provide consumers with a bevy of options beyond Tesla, but they'll also deprive Tesla of its regulatory-credit income as other automakers churn out an increasing number of EVs.\nNone of this is to say that Tesla can't be successful in a world where it faces more competition. But turning a profit is is going to get harder with each passing year.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":692,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":369665735,"gmtCreate":1614040670127,"gmtModify":1704887191583,"author":{"id":"3574572004481450","authorId":"3574572004481450","name":"Yongi","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5c06318aac4514e34762a2a9c9406f64","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574572004481450","idStr":"3574572004481450"},"themes":[],"title":"Look at stock market bubble","htmlText":"From Ray Dalio.https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/we-stock-market-bubble-ray-dalio/I’ve seen a lot of bubbles in my time and I have studied even more in history, so I know what I mean by a bubble and I systemized it into a “bubble indicator” that I monitor to help give me perspective on each market. Should","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1190757715","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"It might be a surprise to find out that two investors with virtually opposite approaches -- one who ","content":"
It might be a surprise to find out that two investors with virtually opposite approaches -- one who invests in large, cheap, iconic companies and the other who rose to fame on the heels of her outlandishly bullish (and accurate) predictions about \"overvalued\" stocks -- would have the same company in their portfolios. Perhaps the bigger surprise is the stock you might expect them to both own that they don't. Let's take a look at the two companies in question and what these successful investors must see.

The surprising stock they both own

First, it's doubtful that Warren Buffett actually boughtSnowflake(NYSE:SNOW), the cloud data warehouse-as-a-service company. In recent years, lieutenants Todd Combs and Ted Weschler have been making more of the investment decisions, and the $750 million in stockBerkshireHathaway(NYSE:BRK.A)(NYSE:BRK.B)purchased before theinitial public offering (IPO)certainly doesn't match the investment style of the legendary nonagenarian. In fact, Buffett hasn't bought an IPO sinceFord in 1956. The company does fit the style of Cathie Wood at ARK Invest, a global asset management company focused on disruptive innovation. That said, Snowflake is putting up numbers that would get any investor's attention.

The company recently reported its full fiscal year earnings, and the growth was jaw-dropping. Fourth-quarter revenue of $178 million was up 116% year over year. Topping that, remaining performance obligations, what customers have signed on to buy, was up 213% over the same point last year. The company has 77 customers that spend more than $1 million per year. That number is up from 65 just three months earlier. Management is projecting between 92% and 96% revenue growth for the current year. Snowflake posted an operating margin of negative 92%. Losing money never sounds good, but that is closer to profitability than the negative 135% for the year ending January 2020 or the negative 192% in 2019. If the company really wanted to turn a profit it could just curb its spending on sales and marketing.

It may not be a typical Buffett stock, but Snowflake definitely fits the mold of Wood's investments. The ARK founder has become synonymous with innovation, building a portfolio around futuristic themes such as genomics, space exploration, mobility-as-a-service, and the next-generation internet. It's the last theme, encompassing artificial intelligence and cloud computing, where Snowflake fits. The company's pay-as-you-consume, real-time access to data and analytical tools is a giant leap forward compared to the slow, bogged-down daily or weekly updates companies have long come to accept with managing their internal data warehouses.

Another stock in ARK's portfolio touches both the data-related and genomic revolution strategy. Based on his other holdings, it's actually surprising Buffett doesn't own it too.

The surprising stock they don't both own

The Oracle of Omaha has been buying up the stocks of pharmaceutical companies in the past year. In the third quarter of 2020 he added shares ofPfizer(NYSE:PFE),AbbVie(NYSE:ABBV),Merck(NYSE:MRK), andBristolMyersSquibb(NYSE:BMY). Every member of that group gives investors between 3% and 5% in dividends annually. Other than Bristol Myers, they all hover around a $200 billion market cap as well, and Bristol Myers is nearly as large at $136 billion. Similarly,Novartis(NYSE:NVS)is a $211 billion company yielding 3.8%. Perhaps the reason Buffett hasn't bought this big pharma stock is that it is a Swiss company. It turns out, Buffett favors American brands in food, cola, and apparently drugmakers.

Novartis did catch the eye of Wood, thanks to its work toward developing a leading digital and data science platform for drug discovery. Although it isn't a pure play on any of ARK's strategies, Wood considers it a deep value pick, to be held through a bull market and then sold in times of volatility to add to higher-conviction growth names that get beaten down.

Portfolio juxtaposition

It may be counterintuitive for an investor who prides himself on unemotional investing to buy into one of the hottest IPOs of last year, but once Snowflake started trading, the investment doubled almost immediately. Similarly, few would think someone famous for a $4,000 price target onTeslaand presentations that literally map out the future of entire industries would own a nearly 4% dividend paying pharmaceutical company with no growth. However, there is a great lesson in these examples.

Don't settle for the labels Wall Street places on companies or investors. Value and growth are just words. Investors may have tendencies that define them in the public eye, but that oversimplification may obscure the characteristics that draw their interest in an investment. Although Buffett likely didn't buy shares of Snowflake, it may have been the customer loyalty, leadership team, and consistent march toward profitability that made Combs or Weschler comfortable buying Snowflake shares. Wood may have a lot of fast-growing companies that don't make a profit, but it's the innovation that compels her to invest, not just growth rate. In the case of Novartis, innovation came in the form of a mega-cap pharmaceutical company.

Instead of focusing on the labels Wall Street slaps on a company or following Warren Buffett or Cathie Wood into the stock, try to identify the characteristics of the business that they find compelling. Try approaching the company as if you were going to inherit it, learning how dedicated customers are, where money gets spent to attract new ones, or what advantages it has over competitors. These answers will lead to a more informed investment decision and better outcomes over time.

It turns out, both Snowflake and Novartis are compelling to different types of investors for a variety of reasons. Exploring those reasons can teach us a lot more about investing than focusing solely on who owns them. The more we know about a company, the easier it is to figure out whether the nextsell-off is something to fear or a great opportunity.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
1 Stock Warren Buffett and Cathie Wood Have in Common and 1 They Should
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n1 Stock Warren Buffett and Cathie Wood Have in Common and 1 They Should\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-03-19 21:52 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
It might be a surprise to find out that two investors with virtually opposite approaches -- one who invests in large, cheap, iconic companies and the other who rose to fame on the heels of her ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/03/19/1-stock-warren-buffett-and-cathie-wood-have-in-com/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1190757715","content_text":"It might be a surprise to find out that two investors with virtually opposite approaches -- one who invests in large, cheap, iconic companies and the other who rose to fame on the heels of her outlandishly bullish (and accurate) predictions about \"overvalued\" stocks -- would have the same company in their portfolios.
