When agreement came this past week, the rally continued.
\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 1% on Thursday, and the S&P 500 Industrial Sector added about 0.8%, both outpacing the broader market, as President Joe Biden announced that he had come to an agreement with a group of Republican and Democratic senators on an infrastructure package of roughly $600 billion. And the industrial outperformance continued on Friday.
\n
The package includes some $300 billion for roads, bridges, and other major transportation projects. An additional $266 billion includes water infrastructure, broadband, and power infrastructure. The spending is part of a larger package of approved spending that totals about $1.2 trillion over an eight-year period. The infrastructure bill must still be approved by Congress before Biden can sign it.
\n
Other priorities that Biden had outlined, such as more spending on child-care initiatives, will have to be pursued in a separate package devoted to “human infrastructure,” probably by using the budget reconciliation process in the Senate, where Democrats hold a tie-breaker vote. The bipartisan agreement would probably be tied to the reconciliation bill, as Biden has said he wants both on his desk at the same time.
\n
Still, agreement on the physical infrastructure spending is a victory for political comity, the economy, and potentially a range of stocks and market sectors. “Roughly $600 billion in new spending for roads, bridges, public transit, and broadband as well as a host of other areas would likely be considered a ‘win’ for the White House,” Wells Fargo economist Michael Pugliese said in a note. “As in baseball, a win does not always have to be a home run. Sometimes it pays to just get on base.”
\n
One way to play for further upside in the bipartisan deal is the package’s emphasis on expanding broadband, says Josh Duitz, who runs the $185 million Aberdeen Standard Global Infrastructure Income fund (ticker: ASGI). As of May 31, his portfolio’s holdings included American Tower(AMT). He added that Ferrovial(FER.Spain), a global infrastructure company that builds roads and other projects, would also benefit from the package. It’s another of his holdings. “This is just one more positive catalyst for infrastructure,” Duitz said.
\n
Analysts at Stifel, meanwhile, believe the deal “generates significant upside” for machinery, construction materials, and rental companies.
\n
Stifel said that the beneficiaries of the infrastructure bill include these five companies:Astec Industries(ASTE), whose products include asphalt and concrete;Martin Marietta Materials(MLM), which makes construction materials;Construction Partners(ROAD), which builds roadways;United Rentals(URI); and Vulcan Materials(VMC), which makes construction materials.
\n
Separately on Friday, Jefferies upgraded Martin Marietta Materials and Vulcan Materials to Buy from Hold. It also raised the price targets to $424 and $207, respectively.
\n
Stifel expects other companies to benefit, as well. Those include Caterpillar(CAT),Deere(DE),Manitowoc(MTW),Oshkosh(OSK), and Terex(TEX)—“each of which sells machinery into the infrastructure” market.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
These Stocks Could Have ‘Significant Upside’ From Infrastructure Spending
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThese Stocks Could Have ‘Significant Upside’ From Infrastructure Spending\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-26 10:28 GMT+8 Barrons\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Wall Street has been pricing in an infrastructure bill since the White House unveiled the American Jobs Plan in April.
Agency staff have warned corporate lawyers that it may take up to 30 days to review paperwork for SPACs, with an additional two weeks tacked on for any changes or amendments.
\n
For traditional IPOs, the wait could be even longer.
\n
A listing for Robinhood could still arrive this summer,Bloombergsaid. The timeline has already slipped to July.
\n
\n The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has been asking Robinhood about its growing cryptocurrency business, one of the people said, asking not to be identified because the matter is private. While a listing might come this summer, the popular trading app’s plans could also slip into the fall, one of the people said. The company aims to reveal its financials as soon as possible and to go public as soon as the SEC finishes its review, they said.\n
\n
Robinhood first rolled out cryptocurrency trading in 2018, but the service has been plagued by objections from regulators and occasional crashes (not unlike its equity and equity derivatives trading). Agency staff have warned corporate lawyers that it may take up to 30 days to review paperwork for SPACs, with an additional two weeks tacked on for any changes or amendments.\nFor traditional IPOs, the wait could be even longer.\nA listing for Robinhood could still arrive this summer,Bloombergsaid. The timeline has already slipped to July.\n\n The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has been asking Robinhood about its growing cryptocurrency business, one of the people said, asking not to be identified because the matter is private. While a listing might come this summer, the popular trading app’s plans could also slip into the fall, one of the people said. The company aims to reveal its financials as soon as possible and to go public as soon as the SEC finishes its review, they said.\n\nRobinhood first rolled out cryptocurrency trading in 2018, but the service has been plagued by objections from regulators and occasional crashes (not unlike its equity and equity derivatives trading). Crypto prices have been on a wild ride so far this year, with bitcoin recently rebounding above $35K after tumbling below $30K for the first time in...two weeks.\nThe firm first filed its S-1 in March, with a target ofgoing public in June, which isn't going to happen, the company says.\nAs the SEC breaks Robinhood's stones while allowing dozens of shady SPAC deals pass with nary a peep, one can't help but wonder whether this headline is a weak attempt at CYA for the regulator, which has become notoriously behold to the corporate interests it's supposed to police (just look at the astounding leniency granted toElon Musk).\nA few days ago, we reported that the retail trading boom that revolutionized markets last year shows no signs of slowing.\nAt this point, it seems unlikely that some lowly regulator will come forwardand try to stop Vlad Tenev from cementing his multibillionaire status.\nIn other news, Robinhood said Thursday that it wants the SEC to allow sub-penny pricing on exchanges. The new rule would help create tighter spreads (marginally, to be sure) for Robinhood's clients (and the clients of other firms), the company argued, while also helping close a gap between the exchanges and private market-makers. The firm also just rolled out its IPO Access program in the US, which it claims will allow retail traders to get in on new offerings at the listing price.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":670,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":124001005,"gmtCreate":1624701992907,"gmtModify":1703843885716,"author":{"id":"3578547182885491","authorId":"3578547182885491","name":"WLeong","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578547182885491","authorIdStr":"3578547182885491"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Better recall than have issues on the road later.","listText":"Better recall than have issues on the road later.","text":"Better recall than have issues on the road later.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/124001005","repostId":"1132692662","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1132692662","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1624680481,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1132692662?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-26 12:08","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla recalls some imported and domestic Model 3 and Model Y in China","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1132692662","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Recently, Tesla filed a recall plan and decided to recall some vehicles from now on,according to China's State Administration of market supervision.Tesla decided to recall 35665 imported Model 3 produced between January 12, 2019 and November 27, 2019.Meanwhile, Tesla will recall some domestic Model 3 produced from December 19, 2019 to June 7, 2021, totaling 211256 vehicles; A total of 38599 domestic Model Y were produced from January 1, 2021 to June 7, 2021.In response to the recall, Tesla said ","content":"
Recently, Tesla filed a recall plan and decided to recall some vehicles from now on,according to China's State Administration of market supervision.
\n
Tesla decided to recall 35665 imported Model 3 produced between January 12, 2019 and November 27, 2019.
\n
Meanwhile, Tesla will recall some domestic Model 3 produced from December 19, 2019 to June 7, 2021, totaling 211256 vehicles; A total of 38599 domestic Model Y were produced from January 1, 2021 to June 7, 2021.
\n
Due to the problems of the active cruise control system of the vehicles within the scope of this recall, it is easy for the driver to activate the active cruise function by mistake in the following situations: when the vehicle is in D gear, the driver tries to switch the gear by pushing the right control lever again; When the vehicle turns sharply, the driver touches and moves the right control lever by mistake, etc. After the active cruise control is mistakenly activated, if the cruise speed set by the vehicle is not the current speed, and the current speed is lower than the set speed, the vehicle will accelerate to the set speed, resulting in a sudden increase in vehicle speed, which will affect the driver's expectation and lead to misjudgment of vehicle handling.
