Thatâs when the company is set to unveil its latest line of iPhones and other products ahead of a critical holiday season.
\n
The presentation, which features the tag line âCalifornia streaming,â will take place at 10 a.m. Pacific time next Tuesday. Like all of Appleâs launches since 2020, the event will be held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
\n

\n
The Cupertino, California-based technology giant has been readying four new iPhones, as well as Apple Watches with larger screens,Bloomberg has reported. Apple has also been working on revamped entry-level AirPods earbuds and new MacBook Pros. Apple typically holds multiple launches in the fall, so not every new device for 2021 may appear next week. Last year, it held three events across two months.
\n
The fall product season is critical for Apple, with analysts estimating that the company will generate $120 billion in revenue during the holiday quarter. That would be an all-time record.
\n
The new iPhones are expected to have the same 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes as last yearâs iPhone 12, but the devices will include camera upgrades like a video version of Portrait mode, support for the higher-quality ProRes video recording resolution and more advanced filters system. Also coming to this yearâs models are faster A15 processors, a smaller cutout at the top of the screen and display improvements like a faster refresh rate.
\n
Apple has also been planning a slew of satellite features for emergencies, such as a mechanism for reaching first-responder services and texting key contacts. While the new iPhone hardware may support the features, they arenât expected to become available until sometime next year.
\n
The new Apple Watches will feature the first redesign to the product since the Series 4 in 2018. The new models will have flatter edges and displays, in addition to a sizable increase to the screen sizes. Theyâll feature 41-millimeter and 45-millimeter cases, up from 40 and 44 millimeters.
\n
The larger model will also have a screen of about 1.9 inches diagonally, up from 1.78 inches. And it will include a faster processor and updated wireless technology. But the watches have faced production snags, which could result in shortages.
\n
Also coming this fall are the new MacBook Pros, iPads and AirPods. The MacBook Pros will be Appleâs first high-end computers to transition over to custom processors. And theyâll mark the first redesign to the MacBook Pro since 2016. The new models will include flatter edges and the removal of the Touch Bar strip on the keyboard. They also will offer MagSafe magnetic charging.
\n
The new AirPods will look similar to the AirPods Pro, but lack pricier features like noise cancellation. Apple hasnât refreshed the entry-level earbuds since early 2019, but it released AirPods Max headphones last December.
\n
The company is planning two new iPads for this fall. First, an update to the base iPad geared toward schools. That version will get a faster processor and a thinner design. Thatâs when the company is set to unveil its latest line of iPhones and other products ahead of a critical holiday season.\nThe presentation, which features the tag line âCalifornia streaming,â will take place at 10 a.m. Pacific time next Tuesday. Like all of Appleâs launches since 2020, the event will be held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic.\n\nThe Cupertino, California-based technology giant has been readying four new iPhones, as well as Apple Watches with larger screens,Bloomberg has reported. Apple has also been working on revamped entry-level AirPods earbuds and new MacBook Pros. Apple typically holds multiple launches in the fall, so not every new device for 2021 may appear next week. Last year, it held three events across two months.\nThe fall product season is critical for Apple, with analysts estimating that the company will generate $120 billion in revenue during the holiday quarter. That would be an all-time record.\nThe new iPhones are expected to have the same 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes as last yearâs iPhone 12, but the devices will include camera upgrades like a video version of Portrait mode, support for the higher-quality ProRes video recording resolution and more advanced filters system. Also coming to this yearâs models are faster A15 processors, a smaller cutout at the top of the screen and display improvements like a faster refresh rate.\nApple has also been planning a slew of satellite features for emergencies, such as a mechanism for reaching first-responder services and texting key contacts. While the new iPhone hardware may support the features, they arenât expected to become available until sometime next year.\nThe new Apple Watches will feature the first redesign to the product since the Series 4 in 2018. The new models will have flatter edges and displays, in addition to a sizable increase to the screen sizes. Theyâll feature 41-millimeter and 45-millimeter cases, up from 40 and 44 millimeters.\nThe larger model will also have a screen of about 1.9 inches diagonally, up from 1.78 inches. And it will include a faster processor and updated wireless technology. But the watches have faced production snags, which could result in shortages.\nAlso coming this fall are the new MacBook Pros, iPads and AirPods. The MacBook Pros will be Appleâs first high-end computers to transition over to custom processors. And theyâll mark the first redesign to the MacBook Pro since 2016. The new models will include flatter edges and the removal of the Touch Bar strip on the keyboard. They also will offer MagSafe magnetic charging.\nThe new AirPods will look similar to the AirPods Pro, but lack pricier features like noise cancellation. Apple hasnât refreshed the entry-level earbuds since early 2019, but it released AirPods Max headphones last December.\nThe company is planning two new iPads for this fall. First, an update to the base iPad geared toward schools. That version will get a faster processor and a thinner design. Second is the biggest overhaul to the iPad mini since the product first debuted in 2012. The new version will have a larger screen and thinner borders.\nAlongside the new hardware, Apple will also roll out the previously announced iOS and iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, tvOS 15 and macOS Monterey software updates. Apple typically gives release timing for those updates at these types of product launches.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":839,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":106702493,"gmtCreate":1620142940312,"gmtModify":1704339307852,"author":{"id":"3582069654682399","authorId":"3582069654682399","name":"ClaireO","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f217791834fe78353f47fd8fabb208cf","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582069654682399","authorIdStr":"3582069654682399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Waiting ","listText":"Waiting ","text":"Waiting","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4b1a6e32d1e9fc2064bfc61d1431735d","width":"750","height":"2153"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/106702493","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":269,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":175028481,"gmtCreate":1626999359243,"gmtModify":1703482064547,"author":{"id":"3582069654682399","authorId":"3582069654682399","name":"ClaireO","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f217791834fe78353f47fd8fabb208cf","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582069654682399","authorIdStr":"3582069654682399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Looking [Cool] ","listText":"Looking [Cool] ","text":"Looking [Cool]","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/af1f19a395113441772c5ceb546d4869","width":"750","height":"2443"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/175028481","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":671,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":173591585,"gmtCreate":1626667718447,"gmtModify":1703763020863,"author":{"id":"3582069654682399","authorId":"3582069654682399","name":"ClaireO","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f217791834fe78353f47fd8fabb208cf","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582069654682399","authorIdStr":"3582069654682399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"New baby ? many cases, relatively small business units buried within the giants are generating more revenue than entire big-name tech companies. These tech giants turn the law of large numbers on its head. The tech industry is really two industries. There are the five giants, which operate at an almost unimaginable scale, and then there's everybody else.Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Microsoft all reported March quarter earnings this week, and some of the numbers that came out showed how dominant they are. In many cases, relatively small business units buried within the giants are generating more revenue than entire big-name tech companies. For instance:Googleâs YouTubeison trackto generate as much revenue this year asNetflixâ once dubbed a peer in the collection of âFAANGâ stocks. Yet, YouTube is a relatively small business forGoogle, accounting for only 13% of its advertising revenue. Meanwhile, parent company Alphabetgained another $4.5 billionfrom an increase in the value of investments itâs made in start-ups over the last decade, as many of those start-ups have gone public or raised new rounds at dramatically higher valuations.Amazonâs advertisingbusiness generated close to $7 billion during the quarter, and its growth rate is accelerating. Thatâs nearlyseven times as muchas all ofTwitter, but itâs barely noticeable against Amazonâstotal quarterly revenueof over $108 billion. Meanwhile, the companyâs cloud computing business,Amazon Web Services, generated more revenue in the first quarter of 2021 than all ofOracledid in itsfiscal third quarter, which ended Feb. 28.Microsoftâs LinkedInhas bookedmore than $3 billion in ad revenueduring the last year, which is more than the entirety ofSnaporPinterest. But thatâs a drop in the bucket forMicrosoft, which has booked over $121 billion in the last nine months alone.Appleâs gadget business, dubbed âWearables, Home and Accessoriesâ and consisting of Apple Watch, audio add-ons like AirPods and HomePods, and other home devices like Apple TV, booked more than $7.8 billion in the quarter ended Mar. 31. Thatâs more thanHPâs laptop businessgenerated in its quarter ended Jan. 31â which, unlike Appleâs quarter, encompassed the holiday buying season. Yet it only accounted for 8.7% of Appleâs overall sales. Appleâs iPhone business, meanwhile, is truly in a class by itself â it generated more revenues than all of Microsoft, as has been the case for years.Facebookdoesnât break out the performance of its business units, making it hard to get a feel for how they stack up against stand-alone competitors. But the company says 2.7 billion people use one of its apps every day, and 3.4 billion people use them at least once a month, making it equal in scale to these other giants, even if itâs the only one with a market cap still under $1 trillion. Bloomberg hasreportedthat Instagram generated $20 billion in ad revenue in 2019, putting it among the biggest digital advertising properties in the world â and well ahead of social media competitors like Snap, Pinterest and Twitter. The law of large numbers turned on its headTypically in business, companies run into the âlaw of large numbers,â and growth rates slow. Conventional wisdom dictates that generating $500 million in new revenue is a lot harder than generating $50 million, so by mathematical law, itâs harder to grow 50% from $1 billion than from $100 million. But the nature of technology platforms turns that law on its head. When a tech business achieves truly massive scale â and all of these companies have multiple businesses that reach more than one billion customers â itâs easier to grow by collecting additional streams of revenue from a massive installed base than it is to invent new business areas from scratch or steal customers from bigger competitors. These giants can take the data from their already massive operations to learn about their customers and sell them new products effectively. They can leverage existing customer relationships to sell add-on products. They can use their cash flow or stock tobuy promising new upstartsand, if they decline, clone them.Nothing makes a dent. They brush off congressional hearings, fines from regulators, antitrust investigations, complaints from disgruntled employees, unionization drives and negative press like so many mosquitoes. When the Covid pandemic slammed into the economy and shut down most of the world, they thrived. Now that Covid is easing up in the U.S., they...continue to thrive.Smaller tech companies offer bigger opportunities for growth and returns over the long term. But if investors are looking for investments with the safety of U.S. government bonds and the prospect of at least some future growth, there is no investment class like the tech giants.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":175,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":377747156,"gmtCreate":1619567543575,"gmtModify":1704725956732,"author":{"id":"3582069654682399","authorId":"3582069654682399","name":"ClaireO","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f217791834fe78353f47fd8fabb208cf","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582069654682399","authorIdStr":"3582069654682399"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"As expected.
