7x Short DLC Surged +33% as Nasdaq-100 Slumps -4.8%; HSI, HSTECH & SiMSCI Fall in Asian trading

The $NASDAQ 100(NDX)$ plunged 4.8% by the close of the US trading session (5 June), marking its steepest one-day decline since April 2025 as heavy selling in semiconductor stocks rattled investor sentiment.

Correspondingly, the Nasdaq 7x Short DLC surged around 33%, while the Nasdaq 7x Long DLC declined by a similar magnitude.

The weakness spilled over into Asian markets during the morning session (8 June). The benchmark $HSI(HSI)$ fell 1.18%, while the tech-focused $HSTECH(HSTECH)$ declined 2.4%. Meanwhile, the $MSCI Singapore Index - main 2606(SGPmain)$ slipped around 1.3%.

In line with the market move, the HSI 7x Short DLC gained around 8.3%, while the HSI 7x Long DLC fell by a comparable magnitude.

Similarly, the HSTECH 7x Short DLC gained close to 17%, whereas the HSTECH 7x Long DLC fell by a comparable magnitude.

In Singapore, the SiMSCI 7x Short DLC gained around 10%, while the SiMSCI 7x Long DLC fell by a comparable magnitude.

Investors expecting further downside in the markets may look to Short DLCs as a way to potentially benefit from declines in indices or individual stocks. Conversely, those anticipating a rebound could consider Long DLCs to amplify exposure to any upside recovery.
