Singapore stocks opened mostly lower on Thursday, 8 October, as $DBS(D05.SI)$ , $OCBC Bank(O39.SI)$ , and $UOB(U11.SI)$ came under selling pressure.
UOB led the decline, falling around 4.7% as of 10am Singapore time and lifting the UOB 5x Short DLC by approximately 23.5%, while the UOB 5x Long DLC declined by a similar magnitude.
OCBC fell around 4.3%, lifting the OCBC 5x Short DLC by approximately 21.5%, while the OCBC 5x Long DLC declined by a similar magnitude.
Meanwhile, DBS fell 3.2%, marking its largest one-day decline since April 2025. The DBS 5x Short DLC gained around 16%, while the DBS 5x Long DLC declined by a similar magnitude.
The $SGX Straits Times Index - main 2610(STmain)$ and MSCI Singapore Index both fell 2.6%, with the STI reaching its lowest level since July. The SiMSCI 7x Short DLC consequently gained around 18%, while the SiMSCI 7x Long DLC declined by a similar magnitude.
Hong Kong AI-related stocks were also broadly lower. $MINIMAX-W(00100)$ fell 10%, Hua Hong Semiconductor and Z.AI declined 6% each, while GigaDevice Semiconductor lost 2%. SG’s recently listed 3x Long DLCs offer leveraged exposure for investors anticipating a rebound in these underlyings. There are currently no corresponding Short DLCs.
