$Micron Technology(MU)$ Ben Horowitz said Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told him the company's AI compute capacity is sold out beyond 2028, and he thinks that kind of shortage makes this fundamentally different from the dot-com bubble.
He described the situation as a severe supply crunch. Horowitz said he spoke with Jassy and mentioned being out of everything through 2028, and Jassy responded that it actually extends beyond 2028, with supply possibly not becoming available again until the end of 2028 or later.
Horowitz also noted that having supply in the middle of a major shortage is an advantage, and that this is very different from the internet bubble. Back then, demand wasn't there because the infrastructure had to be built first, people needed broadband, and there were a lot of other things people had to buy early on.
