šŸŽ‰ Teacher’s Day Special: Which Teacher Left the Deepest Impression on You?

In Singapore, Teacher’s Day falls on September 5, while in China, we celebrate it on September 10. šŸ‘©ā€šŸ«šŸ‘Øā€šŸ« A teacher isn’t just someone in the classroom — they can also be a friend, a parent, a stranger on the internet, or even an AI that suddenly appeared — like GPT or DeepSeek. As long as they bring us growth and inspiration, they can be considered our ā€œteacher.ā€ On this special day, which teacher comes to mind first? Who is your favorite ā€œstock teacherā€? Would you recommend them to others? Do you have a message of thanks you’d like to share with your teacher?

Mr Barrett said that he would like the new government of Canada and I would be very interested to hear from him on that matter as I would be curious if you have a chance and if he has a good answer to this and if so I will send you the link for it

My mom was my first teacher when it came to saving and investing - even in stock markets. she is opportunistic investor as well as one to collext blue chips
My biggest stock teacher was a scammer.  But thanks to him, I now spot scams faster than a cat spots a laser pointer.  He taught me everything—mostly what not to do.  So technically… he did his job. Just backwards. šŸ˜Ž
PCT: All Teachers Are Essential v1.0 : PCT = Pandas Coffee Talk. I am a business admin degree holder. My degree is owned to all teachers from kindergarten to university. They shape me one way or the other. I am so dying for investing knowledges. Now with social media. Teachers can be YouTube teachers. X teachers. Tigers & her AI. And so on. I owned it all you teachers. Without you. I cannot reach who I am.
On this Teacher’s Day, the first teacher who comes to mind is my secondary school Science teacher, who taught me the importance of curiosity and precision. In the world of investing, my favourite ā€œstock teacherā€ would be Howard Marks—his memos are clear, disciplined, and deeply insightful. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to sharpen their understanding of risk and market psychology. To all teachers, whether in classrooms, boardrooms, or even through books and online platforms: thank you for reminding us that true learning is less about having the right answers, and more about asking the right questions. Your guidance leaves an impact that compounds far more meaningfully than any portfolio ever could.
Definitely is Teacher Warren buffett without his advice and investment idea I wouldn't invest now. I feel they I am too late. I could have start early

Happy Teacher's Day to the people around me who believed in me, inspire me, encourage me. You are the reason why I grew to be the person I am today. Stronger, motivated, and discipline. I would like to thank the people who did not believe in me, and said that I would not make it because that certainly pushes me to be better and to prove to everyone that I am not the same person as the image you had in your head. And now, I became a Teacher myself for my full time job while I teach/inspire people on how to invest their money for the long term.
I am blessed with the fact that my first teacher, that is my mother, also has her Birthday on 5th Sep. And the lessons I learnt by observing her viz. focus, perseverance, complete faith and commitment in what we do and self-belief are invaluable in every area of my life. I have no hesitation to accept that it is following her approach that helped me succeed in the areas I succeeded in. The cause for any failures are entirely mine. I am totally grateful to God for Blessing me with the parents I have [Love]
The market is the greatest teacher because there is nothing more effective than paying your school fees to it; attending "guru" courses, reading books, watching video comes nothing near to having a loss seared into one's head. [Serious]
Wishing all teachers a very Happy Teacher’s Day! Teaching comes with immense responsibility and requires so much passion, and I truly appreciate all the teachers who have touched my life and my children’s. Their dedication is truly admirable. I’m still in touch with my economics teacher thanks to Facebook :) I also hope to reconnect with my Chinese teacher, who never gave up on me. My chemistry teacher was also very inspiring but he has since passed on …. Treasure every teacher and be thankful for all the knowledge that we can learn it may not be useful now but will shape one’s thinking and determination

It will be my Pri6 Maths Teacher. Thanks to her patience, that overnight I excelled very well in Maths. From E.Maths to A.Maths. Anything that improves calculation, I will do very well. Maybe by having good Maths foundation, I tended to be very analytical/systematic when I m doing my work. In a way, it helps in my stocks purchase. The teacher who comes to mind is my mentor at work. She inspires me and provides me with much wisdom in my work. I don’t have a specific favour ā€˜stock teacher’ as different ā€˜masters’ have different strengths and have teach various topics with varying effectiveness. If I am interested in a specific topic, I will read or listen to YouTube videos on different ones to gain understanding from different perspectives. To the various teachers in my life, I want to thank them for inspiring me to continue on lifelong learning, the ability to look at a problem from different perspectives and to solve problems with different approaches. @LuckyPiggie @Wayneqq

🌟🌟🌟There is a saying by the late Great Charlie Munger that set the course for me on my path to FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early : "The Big Money is not in the Buying and Selling but in the Waiting." That is why Charlie Munger is the teacher that has made the biggest impact on my style of investing.   I have learnt patience and that time in the market is more important than timing the market. Thank you Charlie Munger, you have made a difference in my life. @Tiger_SG @TigerStars @Tiger_comments @CaptainTiger
Singapore will celebrate Teachers’ Day on September 5, 2025, to honor educators who shape the future. In Singapore, it’s common to give gifts on Teachers’ Day, but some basic etiquette and rules apply.Teachers must declare gifts worth more than 50 SGD, so it’s best to choose reasonably priced presents. In addition, cash or gift cards should be avoided to prevent misunderstandings. There are some good gifts to pick.Tily Tea’s Teachers’ Day PackTily Tea’s Teachers’ Day gift set features traditional herbal and fruit blends that help improve mental wellness — boosting energy, aiding sleep, and reducing stress.Small pack from $9.90, with an additional $1 gift bag available. The box allows space to doodle or write a thank-you note.WAI Teachers’ Day Goodie BagNotebooks were once a symbol of Singapo
The first ā€œteacherā€ who comes to mind for me is the market itself — strict, unpredictable, but always teaching. My favourite ā€œstock teacherā€ would be Howard Marks. His memos are timeless lessons in risk, cycles, and humility. I’d recommend him to anyone who wants to learn how to think, not just what to buy. A note of thanks: to every mentor (human or book) who reminded me that patience often pays better than speed, and that protecting capital is the real test of skill. The market may hand out harsh grades, but thanks to good teachers, at least we’re better prepared for the exam.

My greatest teachers in life have always been my parents. They were the first to open my eyes to the importance of savings, budgeting, and living within my means—lessons that have shaped the way I approach life and its challenges. But beyond the practical teachings, they have instilled in me values that go far deeper—integrity, kindness, resilience, and the strength to always choose what’s right, no matter the cost. Their love, unwavering support, and constant guidance have been my greatest blessings. I am forever grateful for the profound impact they’ve had on my life, and I will carry their lessons with me always.
