The S&P 500 also hit an intraday record of 4,249.74, overtaking its May 7 high after the market traded sideways for a month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 19.10 points, or less than 0.1%, to 34,466.24, while the Nasdaq Composite gained about 0.8% to 14,020.33.\nConsumer prices for May accelerated at their fastest pace since the summer of 2008 amid the economic recovery from the pandemic-triggered recession, the Labor Department reported Thursday.\nThe consumer price index, which represents a basket including food, energy, groceries and prices across a spectrum of goods, rose 5% from a year ago. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting a gain of 4.7%.\n\"I think there were a lot of people who held back, who wanted to see the hotter inflation number,\" CNBC's Jim Cramer said on \"Squawk on the Street.\" \"Now they've said, 'OK, now that's over with. Let's do some buying.' Because they've been on the sideline and they want to get in. I don't think that's actually usual these days because there's still so much buying power out there. People want in.\"\nFears of spiking inflation have weighed on the stock market in the last month, with investors worried the jump in prices will raise costs for companies, spark a move higher in interest rates and cause the Federal Reserve to remove its easy money policies.\n\"This CPI isn't likely to change the narrative dramatically, and there are still indications that inflation momentum is set to abate in the coming months,\" Adam Crisafulli, founder of Vital Knowledge, said in a note Thursday.\nMany economists also said the surge in used car costs for the month could have skewed the inflation reading. Used car and truck prices jumped more than 7%, accounting for one-third of the total increase for the month, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The jump in used car prices likely reflects a temporary phenomenon related to the pandemic and auto supply.\nA separate report released Thursday showed that jobless claims for the week ended June 5 came in at 376,000, versus a Dow Jones estimate of 370,000. The total still marked the lowest of the pandemic era.\nUPS shares rose about 1% afteran upgrade from JPMorgan. Both have plans to pour money into the industry amid a global shortage of semiconductors, including advanced logic chips that are essential for everything from artificial intelligence to autonomous driving.

“Unlike the purely domestic, independent way it was done in the past, I think we need to cooperate with overseas counterparts,” Amari said in an interview in Tokyo Monday. “The world’s top logic chipmaker is TSMC, so we must think about how to cooperate with them.”

His remarks came days after the powerful Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry issued a report saying Japan would seek to drive growth in the nation’s chip industry as a “national project” on a par with securing food and energy, including through joint ventures with overseas chip foundries. Semiconductor shortages have plagued the global economy as it emerges from the coronavirus pandemdic, costing automakers, for example, a projected $110 billion in lost sales.

From a security point of view, Japan should work only with allies and “like-minded countries,” Amari added, saying that it would be “absolutely out of the question” to seek to bring in a Chinese company.

He said that although South Korea boasts some of the world’s top chipmakers, it is an “extremely difficult country” whose relationship with China is complicated.

Japan Lays Out ‘National Project’ for Chips After Lost Decades

While Japan has in the past tried to bolster its semiconductor industry, the idea has gained new urgency amid the chip shortages that have weighed on manufacturing across a range of industries. Japanese automakers, from Toyota Motor Corp. to Nissan Motor Co., are critical to its economy.

Japan’s share of global semiconductor sales dwindled to just 10% in 2019, down from 50% in 1988. The country still has 84 chip factories, the most in the world, but they’re not producing enough high-end products. As a result, Japan now has to import 64% of its semiconductors.

Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Finance Minister Taro Aso act as advisers to Amari’s working group on semiconductors. Abe has told the group that the industry needs support on a different scale from before. Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has also said the issue will be an important part of his government’s growth strategy.

Japan lost its place as a semiconductor superpower because of a number of factors, including trade tensions with the U.S. in the 1990s and an industry shift toward customization that gave rise to so-called foundries like TSMC.

The Japanese government’s approach of creating a single local champion by combining struggling units of domestic companies largely missed the mark. Elpida Memory Inc., the country’s last computer memory maker, filed for bankruptcy in 2012. Japan Display Inc., the equivalent effort to save the flat-panel industry, hasn’t made a profit in seven years as it struggles against South Korean and Chinese rivals.

“This sort of made-in-Japan self-reliance approach hasn’t worked out well,” Kazumi Nishikawa, a director at METI’s IT industry division, said in a separate interview. “This time the goal is to offer a strong incentive for an overseas logic foundry to come to Japan.”

The ministry’s strategic roadmap includes plans for a joint venture between one of the world’s leading logic manufacturers -- a small group comprised of TSMC, Samsung Electronics Co. or Intel Corp. -- and some combination of Japanese chip end-users, equipment and materials makers. Both have plans to pour money into the industry amid a global shortage of semiconductors, including advanced logic chips that are essential for everything from artificial intelligence to autonomous driving.“Unlike the purely domestic, independent way it was done in the past, I think we need to cooperate with overseas counterparts,” Amari said in an interview in Tokyo Monday. “The world’s top logic chipmaker is TSMC, so we must think about how to cooperate with them.”His remarks came days after the powerful Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry issued a report saying Japan would seek to drive growth in the nation’s chip industry as a “national project” on a par with securing food and energy, including through joint ventures with overseas chip foundries. He said that although South Korea boasts some of the world’s top chipmakers, it is an “extremely difficult country” whose relationship with China is complicated.Japan Lays Out ‘National Project’ for Chips After Lost DecadesWhile Japan has in the past tried to bolster its semiconductor industry, the idea has gained new urgency amid the chip shortages that have weighed on manufacturing across a range of industries. Japanese automakers, from Toyota Motor Corp. to Nissan Motor Co., are critical to its economy.Japan’s share of global semiconductor sales dwindled to just 10% in 2019, down from 50% in 1988. The country still has 84 chip factories, the most in the world, but they’re not producing enough high-end products. As a result, Japan now has to import 64% of its semiconductors.Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Finance Minister Taro Aso act as advisers to Amari’s working group on semiconductors. Abe has told the group that the industry needs support on a different scale from before. Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has also said the issue will be an important part of his government’s growth strategy.Japan lost its place as a semiconductor superpower because of a number of factors, including trade tensions with the U.S. in the 1990s and an industry shift toward customization that gave rise to so-called foundries like TSMC.The Japanese government’s approach of creating a single local champion by combining struggling units of domestic companies largely missed the mark. Elpida Memory Inc., the country’s last computer memory maker, filed for bankruptcy in 2012. Japan Display Inc., the equivalent effort to save the flat-panel industry, hasn’t made a profit in seven years as it struggles against South Korean and Chinese rivals.“This sort of made-in-Japan self-reliance approach hasn’t worked out well,” Kazumi Nishikawa, a director at METI’s IT industry division, said in a separate interview. “This time the goal is to offer a strong incentive for an overseas logic foundry to come to Japan.”The ministry’s strategic roadmap includes plans for a joint venture between one of the world’s leading logic manufacturers -- a small group comprised of TSMC, Samsung Electronics Co. or Intel Corp. -- and some combination of Japanese chip end-users, equipment and materials makers. The country’s most advanced chip factories now produce chips using 40-nanometer technologies, well behind the cutting edge now pushing into the single-digit nanometer scale. The focus at first would be on creating manufacturing facilities that make chips with 10 to 20-nanometer technologies for industrial applications, Nishikawa said. The S&P 500 rose to a record 4,211.47 finish on April 29, for example, and was up 11.3% this year as of Friday's close.\n\"We are now entering a time of year when stocks have historically found it more challenging to advance,\" according to the UBS report. \"With many equity indexes making new highs, some measures of sentiment looking extended, and ongoing concerns about the spread of new COVID-19 variants,\" some investors may be contemplating selling.\nBillionaire investor Leon Cooperman, a self-described \"fully invested bear,\" told CNBC on Friday that he has \"an eye on the exit\" given a coming expected rise in taxes, inflation and a \"reasonably richly appraised market.\"\nRyan Detrick, chief market strategist for LPL Financial, said in a blog Friday that the six months from May through October have been \"some of the weakest months of the year for stocks\" in the past 10 years. \"But with an accommodative Fed, fiscal and monetary policy, along with an economy that is opening faster than nearly anyone expected, we'd use any weakness as an opportunity to add to positions,\" he said.\n\n\"Here's the catch,\" Detrick said. \"Stocks have actually been higher during these worst months of the year eight of the past ten years.\"","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":311,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3579568139568178","authorId":"3579568139568178","name":"Gnoixed","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/02d7e2310e2259dc0abb6c8cd2e1a05b","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3579568139568178","authorIdStr":"3579568139568178"},"content":"done, pls comment back","text":"done, pls comment back","html":"done, pls comment back"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":375722878,"gmtCreate":1619398218694,"gmtModify":1704723158940,"author":{"id":"3556329315079497","authorId":"3556329315079497","name":"Tslverde","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5f52f5991ed363792008cd868f78181c","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3556329315079497","authorIdStr":"3556329315079497"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Please like and comment. It may seem strange at first, considering Reddit traders are millennials. So why would they be interested in a holding company that operates an online mortgage platform? Would they not want to buy a hotshot tech stock instead?

Well, you could make the same argument for GameStop, which had its heyday at least a decade ago. But, at least with RKT stock, you have a company with sound fundamentals, an asset-light strategy and strong tailwinds.

The company’s main claim to fame is the Rocket Mortgage online platform, which allows users to take care of various aspects of the mortgage process. For example, you can apply for a mortgage, upload documents, e-sign documents, get statements and execute monthly payments — all through one app.

Rocket Companies operates under two business segments: Direct to Consumer and Partner Network. The former is a more direct and hands-on approach, and the latter deals with bolstering the brand through consumer-focused influencers and marketing partnerships.

It hasn’t been a historically impressive stock, but Rocket is generating great profits on the back of a booming U.S. housing market. Plus, shares are down 21% in a month, which means you could snap these up at affordable rates.

Tesla (TSLA)Source: Grisha Bruev / Shutterstock.com

As one of the more controversial Reddit stocks, Tesla had an amazing 2020. Buoyed by investor enthusiasm for the electric vehicle (EV) industry, TSLA stock made record gains last year. And even though shares have cooled off, they are still up 280% in one year.

Coming back to the company itself, there are two reasons why the EV giant lost a bit of steam. Firstly, as vaccines roll out, we are finally returning to some normalcy. So, investors are moving towardsrecovery stocksandsafer bets.

Secondly, Tesla itself has not done a lot to impress investors. Its latest quarterly results leave a lot to be decided, and Elon Musk’s erratic behavior does not help matters. So, all things considered, TSLA is one of the riskiest bets out there. But the WallStreetBets community is still buzzing about the EV giant.

Reddit Stocks: Apple (AAPL)Source: ZorroGabriel / Shutterstock.com

Our next entry is a sharp rebuke to those who say Reddit stocks are all about risk.

Apple is a bellwether of the tech world and is a “best in class” blue-chip tech stock. Most recently, the Cupertino, Calif.-based tech giant recorded a54% year-over-year increase in revenueand $23.6 billion in net income in its fiscal second quarter. It is also aggressively pursuing its strategy to become net cash-neutral, announcing a new $90 billion buyback program in its latest quarterly results.

Moreover, AAPL stock is similar to TSLA stock in that the main conversation surrounding it is valuation these days. However, one must remember that AAPL stock is trading at 28.1x trailing price-earnings (P/E) and TSLA trades at 575.1x P/E.

Still, investors are hoping the stock will lose a bit more steam. Yet, Reddit traders seem to have a different opinion, believing that the stock has room to grow still after falling 5.5% in a month.

Nvidia (NVDA)Source: JHVEPhoto / Shutterstock.com

Readers of this space know howbullish I amon Nvidia. The world’s leading semiconductor company is supplying cutting-edge technology for several artificial intelligence applications and is constantly building out its portfolio to diversify investments.

The recent quarterly results reinforce how dominant it is in the chip space. In the fourth fiscal quarter, the American multinational technology company reported$5 billion in revenue, up 61% from $3.11 billion a year earlier.

Non-GAAP earnings per diluted share came in at $3.10, up 64% from $1.89 a year earlier, handily beating Wall Street analyst forecasts of $2.81 per share by 10.3%. This marks the ninth quarter in a row where the company has delivered a ‘positive’ earnings surprise.

Gaming and data centers remain the lynchpin of its success. Data centers, artificial intelligence, and the automotive segment are poised to become major growth drivers moving forward as Nvidia invests heavily in the space.

These are all high-margin businesses, so Nvidia’s future is secure. The only sticking point, I would say, is valuation. Although the stock price has fallen in the last few months, shares are still trading at high price multiples. But hey, Reddit traders do not seem to think so.

Reddit Stocks: GameStop (GME)Source: quietbits / Shutterstock.com

If there is one name that is synonymous with Reddit stocks, it is GameStop. The perennially troubled video game retailer got a new lease of life thanks to enthusiastic newbie traders. But, unfortunately, they did not invest based on fundamentals.

Instead, they believed they were doing a social service by saving the retailer from bankruptcy. Along the way, they badly damaged hedge funds that had shorted the stock, reinforcing how this is the age of the retail trader.

Regardless, it has been a few months since this unique phenomenon started. The interesting part? The momentum shows no signs of stopping. In the last three months alone, shares are up 113%.

It’s useless to talk fundamentals here. When you think Reddit stocks, I am pretty sure the first name that comes to mind is GameStop. Reddit traders have made GME stock a matter of prestige, so expect this one to stay popular with them for some time to come.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)Source: Joseph GTK / Shutterstock.com

Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices are the two most prominent semiconductor companies out there.

Much like Nvidia, AMD is a solid performer, and you will not have any sleepless nights if you decide to park your capital here.

In the last five years, AMD has outperformed theS&P 500by 1692.1% and its sector by 1545.7%. That kind of price momentum highlights the company’s strong performance over a long period of time.

Coming back to the present day, both Ryzen 3000-series SKUs and next-gen Zen 3-based CPUs continue to sell at breakneck speed.

In addition, AMD is benefitting massively from the renewal of one of the oldest rivalries in tech —Sony’s(NYSE:SONY) PlayStation versusMicrosoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox. Both of these consoles use chips made by AMD, so it really doesn’t have a horse in this race. Instead, it’s just sitting back and enjoying the success of these two launches.

Much like NVDA stock, though, there are only two things you need to worry about when investing in AMD stock. The first is overvaluation concern. The stock trades at 35.8 times forward P/E. The second is the chip shortage and how that will affect performance.

For now, it seems safe to say the company is managing the situation well. AMD CEO Lisa Su, the first woman to head a major semiconductor company, isn’t flustered by chip shortage and believes that GPU and processor stock will improve throughout 2021.

Reddit Stocks: Palantir Technologies (PLTR)Source: Ascannio / Shutterstock.com

One of the more controversial Reddit stocks out there is Palantir. But like several other entries on this list, this is a solid performer that will make its place in any growth-focused investor’s portfolio.

The big data analytics founded by Peter Thiel has a close relationship with the U.S. military and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Understandably, some members of Congress are miffed with this close association. However, from a fundamentals perspective, there is nothing to dislike about this one.

Every quarter, Palantir manages to bag major contracts due to its impressive data analytics capabilities.

It has two software platforms, Gotham and Foundry. Gotham is for defense and intelligence agencies, and Foundry is for commercial customers. Both these business segments are doing exceedingly well, leading to the stock becoming a favorite among analysts, and apparently Reddit folk.

AMC Entertainment Holdings (AMC)Source: rblfmr/Shutterstock.com

Unsurprisingly, Reddit traders found AMC stock enticing at a time when most movie theaters were shuttered. As the movie theatre chain struggled to survive and shore up cash, Reddit investors rescued the company from the depths of bankruptcy.

AMC has chosen to make hay while the sun shines, raising substantial cash through equity issues. However, the important thing to note here is that even before the novel coronavirus pandemic struck, AMC was suffering. It was having trouble competing with streaming giants as movie content shifted online.

The situation hasn’t changed much. In fact, movie studios are increasingly leaning towards streaming options as an answer to their woes, meaning things will not look up for the company any time soon with streaming giants likeNetflix(NASDAQ:NFLX) gaining ground.

Reddit Stocks: Airbnb (ABNB)Source: AlesiaKan / Shutterstock.com

Airbnb has cooled off a bit after a blockbuster debut. However, shares are down 33%, and the stock is still overvalued in my eyes because of the sector in which it operates.

Travel and tourism took a big hit last year. And although airline traffic is returning, it’s still not at the level where Airbnb can justify a market cap of $83.4 billion.

So, at a time when mostairline stocks are taking massive hitsand just struggling to survive, ABNB stock is trading at massive price multiples while still being unprofitable. Yes, it has a different business model that is less capital intensive. But still, the valuation is too high.

However, again, this doesn’t faze Reddit traders at all, who are willing to hold onto this one with “diamond hands,” a fact that should help keep this one on your radar.

Air Products & Chemicals (APD)Source: Shutterstock

Allentown, Pennsylvania-based Air Products & Chemicals is one of the more conventional stocks on this list. Its principal business is selling gases and chemicals for industrial uses. Not what you were expecting on the WallStreetBets subreddit? Well, the Reddit investing world is full of surprises.

Regardless, this is a pretty boring, stable investment, one that will get a massive boost once the economy starts whirring at full steam again. Consensus estimates tracked byRefinitivcall for an increase of 12.2% and 22.3%in fiscal 2021 and 2022, respectively.

Again, valuation is a bit high, not surprising since the stock has been on a bull run as of late. Still, it would be best if you wait for this to cool down a bit before buying.

On the date of publication, Faizan Farooquedid not have (either directly or indirectly) any positions in the securities mentioned in this article. The opinions expressed in this article are those of the writer, subject to the InvestorPlace.com Publishing Guidelines.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The 10 Most Talked About Stocks on Reddit WallStreetBets
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe 10 Most Talked About Stocks on Reddit WallStreetBets\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-27 11:27 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
These are the top trending stocks gaining massive chatter on the popular subreddit, WallStreetBets.Tracking Reddit has become one of the most prominent investing strategies in the world. Its latest quarterly results leave a lot to be decided, and Elon Musk’s erratic behavior does not help matters. So, all things considered, TSLA is one of the riskiest bets out there. But the WallStreetBets community is still buzzing about the EV giant.Reddit Stocks: Apple (AAPL)Source: ZorroGabriel / Shutterstock.comOur next entry is a sharp rebuke to those who say Reddit stocks are all about risk.Apple is a bellwether of the tech world and is a “best in class” blue-chip tech stock. However, one must remember that AAPL stock is trading at 28.1x trailing price-earnings (P/E) and TSLA trades at 575.1x P/E.Still, investors are hoping the stock will lose a bit more steam. Yet, Reddit traders seem to have a different opinion, believing that the stock has room to grow still after falling 5.5% in a month.Nvidia (NVDA)Source: JHVEPhoto / Shutterstock.comReaders of this space know howbullish I amon Nvidia. The world’s leading semiconductor company is supplying cutting-edge technology for several artificial intelligence applications and is constantly building out its portfolio to diversify investments. The recent quarterly results reinforce how dominant it is in the chip space. In the fourth fiscal quarter, the American multinational technology company reported$5 billion in revenue, up 61% from $3.11 billion a year earlier.Non-GAAP earnings per diluted share came in at $3.10, up 64% from $1.89 a year earlier, handily beating Wall Street analyst forecasts of $2.81 per share by 10.3%. This marks the ninth quarter in a row where the company has delivered a ‘positive’ earnings surprise.Gaming and data centers remain the lynchpin of its success. But hey, Reddit traders do not seem to think so.Reddit Stocks: GameStop (GME)Source: quietbits / Shutterstock.comIf there is one name that is synonymous with Reddit stocks, it is GameStop. The perennially troubled video game retailer got a new lease of life thanks to enthusiastic newbie traders. But, unfortunately, they did not invest based on fundamentals.Instead, they believed they were doing a social service by saving the retailer from bankruptcy. Along the way, they badly damaged hedge funds that had shorted the stock, reinforcing how this is the age of the retail trader.Regardless, it has been a few months since this unique phenomenon started. The interesting part? The momentum shows no signs of stopping. In the last three months alone, shares are up 113%.It’s useless to talk fundamentals here. When you think Reddit stocks, I am pretty sure the first name that comes to mind is GameStop. Reddit traders have made GME stock a matter of prestige, so expect this one to stay popular with them for some time to come.Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)Source: Joseph GTK / Shutterstock.comNvidia and Advanced Micro Devices are the two most prominent semiconductor companies out there.Much like Nvidia, AMD is a solid performer, and you will not have any sleepless nights if you decide to park your capital here.In the last five years, AMD has outperformed theS&P 500by 1692.1% and its sector by 1545.7%. That kind of price momentum highlights the company’s strong performance over a long period of time.Coming back to the present day, both Ryzen 3000-series SKUs and next-gen Zen 3-based CPUs continue to sell at breakneck speed. Instead, it’s just sitting back and enjoying the success of these two launches.Much like NVDA stock, though, there are only two things you need to worry about when investing in AMD stock. The first is overvaluation concern. The stock trades at 35.8 times forward P/E. The second is the chip shortage and how that will affect performance. For now, it seems safe to say the company is managing the situation well. AMD CEO Lisa Su, the first woman to head a major semiconductor company, isn’t flustered by chip shortage and believes that GPU and processor stock will improve throughout 2021.Reddit Stocks: Palantir Technologies (PLTR)Source: Ascannio / Shutterstock.comOne of the more controversial Reddit stocks out there is Palantir. However, from a fundamentals perspective, there is nothing to dislike about this one.Every quarter, Palantir manages to bag major contracts due to its impressive data analytics capabilities. It has two software platforms, Gotham and Foundry. Gotham is for defense and intelligence agencies, and Foundry is for commercial customers. Both these business segments are doing exceedingly well, leading to the stock becoming a favorite among analysts, and apparently Reddit folk.AMC Entertainment Holdings (AMC)Source: rblfmr/Shutterstock.comUnsurprisingly, Reddit traders found AMC stock enticing at a time when most movie theaters were shuttered. As the movie theatre chain struggled to survive and shore up cash, Reddit investors rescued the company from the depths of bankruptcy.AMC has chosen to make hay while the sun shines, raising substantial cash through equity issues. However, the important thing to note here is that even before the novel coronavirus pandemic struck, AMC was suffering. It was having trouble competing with streaming giants as movie content shifted online. The situation hasn’t changed much. In fact, movie studios are increasingly leaning towards streaming options as an answer to their woes, meaning things will not look up for the company any time soon with streaming giants likeNetflix(NASDAQ:NFLX) gaining ground.Reddit Stocks: Airbnb (ABNB)Source: AlesiaKan / Shutterstock.comAirbnb has cooled off a bit after a blockbuster debut. However, shares are down 33%, and the stock is still overvalued in my eyes because of the sector in which it operates.Travel and tourism took a big hit last year. However, again, this doesn’t faze Reddit traders at all, who are willing to hold onto this one with “diamond hands,” a fact that should help keep this one on your radar.Air Products & Chemicals (APD)Source: ShutterstockAllentown, Pennsylvania-based Air Products & Chemicals is one of the more conventional stocks on this list. Its principal business is selling gases and chemicals for industrial uses. Not what you were expecting on the WallStreetBets subreddit? Well, the Reddit investing world is full of surprises.Regardless, this is a pretty boring, stable investment, one that will get a massive boost once the economy starts whirring at full steam again. Consensus estimates tracked byRefinitivcall for an increase of 12.2% and 22.3%in fiscal 2021 and 2022, respectively.Again, valuation is a bit high, not surprising since the stock has been on a bull run as of late. Still, it would be best if you wait for this to cool down a bit before buying. On the date of publication, Faizan Farooquedid not have (either directly or indirectly) any positions in the securities mentioned in this article. The opinions expressed in this article are those of the writer, subject to the InvestorPlace.com Publishing Guidelines.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":180,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":193415747,"gmtCreate":1620809396789,"gmtModify":1704348727753,"author":{"id":"3556329315079497","authorId":"3556329315079497","name":"Tslverde","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5f52f5991ed363792008cd868f78181c","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3556329315079497","authorIdStr":"3556329315079497"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good. The e-commerce giant had a spectacular run in the last 12 months but is poised for greater upside in the coming years.

In the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic, Shopify’s platform served as a lifeline for small businesses forced to move online. The company allows small to mid-sized businesses to set up digital storefronts and connect with customers. As a result of traffic on the platform, the company reported a grossmerchandise volume of $119.6 billionin 2020 – a 96% increase from the previous year.

Coming into 2021, Shopify stock remained volatile in the first half of the year amid a mass-market sell-off. But the e-commerce revolution is far from over. The company boasts more than 1.5 million users on its platform and this number will only continue to grow.

Although in-store shopping will eat into Shopify’s market share, online retail is a pandemic trend that won’t go away anytime soon. Research shows that e-commerce is growing in the U.S., accounting forfor 6% of total salesnationwide in 2013. And this value is expected to hit 19% by 2024.

Shopify stock is down from its peak pandemic highs, but this growth stock is worth betting on for the long haul.

PayPal (PYPL)

Source: Michael Vi / Shutterstock.com

Digital payments defined the pandemic year as cash lost its allure amid mass social distancing. This meant that payment platforms once seen as a convenience were now deemed a necessity. The fintech industry is crowded but PayPal, one of the oldest players in the space, holds a strong competitive advantage. And while many are questioning its growth prospects in a post-pandemic world, I think the stock is in a great position to keep growing. This is because, like online shopping, digital payments are a trend that won’t go away.

As of the fourth quarter 2020, PayPal had377 million user accountsand 29 million merchants worldwide. This resulted in net revenue of $6.12 billion for the year. In 2021, the company hopes to add 50 million new accounts and sees revenue hitting the$50 billion mark by 2025. A combination of digital payment trends in its favor and a strong market position support this guidance.

Adding on to these tailwinds, PayPal recently announced that it will allow users to trade store cryptocurrencies on its subsidiary platform, Venmo. As digital currencies go mainstream, this crypto offering could be a major revenue generator for the company.

With a growing customer base and history of constant innovation, PayPal is a growth stock that will thrive in the new normal.

Growth Stocks: Tesla (TSLA)

Source: Sheila Fitzgerald / Shutterstock.com

The growth potential of electric vehicles (EVs) has many investors bullish on the biggest names in the sector. Leading this trend is Tesla. Shares of the company trade at about 23.5 times its revenue, making it one of the most expensive stocks on the market. But the potential tailwinds for Tesla justifies this price.

In its most recent earnings report, the company postednet revenue of $10.39 billion, up 74% from a year ago. EPS also beat expectations at 93 cents/share. However, deliveries hit a speed bump due to supply chain issues but the company is working toward improving its production capabilities.

Looking ahead, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk says they will begin deliveries of its Model S sedans this month. Deliveries are expected to increase by 50% in 2021 or an additional 750,000 vehicles. The company is also working to improve the mechanics of its cars. It believes that the new autonomous vehicle will be vision-based with the use of AI-based cameras. According to the EV maker, they are “ready to switch the market to Tesla Vision.”

Tesla is an expensive growth stock but with EVs poised to go mainstream in the coming years, this investment will generate ample returns.

Snowflake (SNOW)

Source: rblfmr / Shutterstock.com

Cloud-based solutions are another major area of growth in the future. One company that shows a lot of upside potential in the sector is Snowflake. The shift to a digital environment has served as a major tailwind for cloud infrastructures. Companies like Snowflake help businesses manage and store their data remotely. This service became crucial for many businesses during the pandemic.

As for the numbers, Snowflake is still in its growth stages and continues to burn through large amounts of cash. However, the company did report a120% increasein product revenue at $553.8 million. Once Snowflake surpasses this phase, its services should generate some juicy returns. The company’s biggest selling point is its pay-as-you-go model that’s packaged as a subscription as a service (SaaS) model. Solutions such as these can help companies lower costs as they achieve greater economies of scale.

Snowflake’s competitive market position and lucrative subscription model make this stock a great buy for the long haul.

Growth Stocks: Upwork (UPWK)

Source: Shutterstock

As a result of pandemic-induced layoffs and furloughs, many people took to freelancing to make some extra cash. For Upwork, a platform that connects businesses to freelancers, user growth surged as a result. Given its dominant position in the market, the company stands to gain the most from the gig-economy trend. To put this in numbers, shares of Upwork are now up some 400%, trading at around $37 from a low of $8 a year ago.

It’s worth noting that while the company reported a major surge in revenue, it is not yet profitable. This alludes to the fact that the gig economy is still very much in its early stages and Upwork chooses to focus on growth and not profitability. Going into 2021, Upwork will continue to follow this ethos and predictsrevenue will grow by 24.91%. Assuming revenues grow in accordance with the forecast, investors are likely to see an appreciation in the share price this year.

As far as growth stocks go, Upwork is a top play. The winds of the gig economy are blowing in the company’s favor and explosive returns are definitely in the forecast.

Peloton (PTON)

Source: JHVEPhoto / Shutterstock.com

Riddled with supply chain issues and questions about its future, shares of fitness giant Peloton are on the decline. However, experts see this dip as a great buying opportunity. The pandemic was a boon for Peloton as people purchased the company’s exercise bike to stay fit indoors. As a result, revenue doubled to $1.06 billionfor the quarter ended on Dec. 31, 2020.

But this success was threatened as the company faced numerous supply chain issues and struggled to meet the explosive demand. Adding to the negative publicity over delayed orders and treadmill issues, Peloton’s growth prospects post-pandemic came into question.

However, several reasons hint at Peloton’s long-term success, making this dip a great buying opportunity. For instance, the remote fitness trend brought about by the pandemic is one that is here to stay. Experts believe that people will continue to embrace remote workouts even after gyms reopen. For Peloton, a major player in the space, this provides an opportunity for long-term growth. Peloton is optimistic about its success in the new normal and forecasted revenue of $4 billion for FY21.

Despite the short-term headwinds, Peloton is a growth stock that’s worth banking on. Its strong market position and favorable trends in the fitness industry will help PTON pedal higher.

Growth Stocks: Etsy (ETSY)

Source: Shutterstock

E-commerce was a major area of focus during the pandemic and with good reason. For many years, in-store shopping was on the decline as people preferred to shop online. The pandemic-induced lockdowns accelerated this to a whole new level. Hence, it’s safe to assume that e-commerce is here to stay long after the pandemic. This trend bodes well for Etsy, a platform that caters to small artisanal businesses.

Etsy is a platform for independent sellers, many of whom have no physical storefront. As an all-purpose enterprise for small businesses, the company saw a massive hike in the number of sellers on its platform during the pandemic. The resulted in a revenue hike of 111%.

As we approach the new normal, it is unlikely that we will see such explosive results. The company boasts more than 1.5 million users on its platform and this number will only continue to grow.Although in-store shopping will eat into Shopify’s market share, online retail is a pandemic trend that won’t go away anytime soon. Research shows that e-commerce is growing in the U.S., accounting forfor 6% of total salesnationwide in 2013. And this value is expected to hit 19% by 2024.Shopify stock is down from its peak pandemic highs, but this growth stock is worth betting on for the long haul.PayPal (PYPL)Source: Michael Vi / Shutterstock.comDigital payments defined the pandemic year as cash lost its allure amid mass social distancing. This is because, like online shopping, digital payments are a trend that won’t go away.As of the fourth quarter 2020, PayPal had377 million user accountsand 29 million merchants worldwide. This resulted in net revenue of $6.12 billion for the year. In 2021, the company hopes to add 50 million new accounts and sees revenue hitting the$50 billion mark by 2025. A combination of digital payment trends in its favor and a strong market position support this guidance.Adding on to these tailwinds, PayPal recently announced that it will allow users to trade store cryptocurrencies on its subsidiary platform, Venmo. As digital currencies go mainstream, this crypto offering could be a major revenue generator for the company. With a growing customer base and history of constant innovation, PayPal is a growth stock that will thrive in the new normal.Growth Stocks: Tesla (TSLA)Source: Sheila Fitzgerald / Shutterstock.comThe growth potential of electric vehicles (EVs) has many investors bullish on the biggest names in the sector. However, deliveries hit a speed bump due to supply chain issues but the company is working toward improving its production capabilities.Looking ahead, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk says they will begin deliveries of its Model S sedans this month. Deliveries are expected to increase by 50% in 2021 or an additional 750,000 vehicles. The company is also working to improve the mechanics of its cars. It believes that the new autonomous vehicle will be vision-based with the use of AI-based cameras. According to the EV maker, they are “ready to switch the market to Tesla Vision.”Tesla is an expensive growth stock but with EVs poised to go mainstream in the coming years, this investment will generate ample returns.Snowflake (SNOW)Source: rblfmr / Shutterstock.comCloud-based solutions are another major area of growth in the future. Solutions such as these can help companies lower costs as they achieve greater economies of scale.Snowflake’s competitive market position and lucrative subscription model make this stock a great buy for the long haul.Growth Stocks: Upwork (UPWK)Source: ShutterstockAs a result of pandemic-induced layoffs and furloughs, many people took to freelancing to make some extra cash. Assuming revenues grow in accordance with the forecast, investors are likely to see an appreciation in the share price this year.As far as growth stocks go, Upwork is a top play. The winds of the gig economy are blowing in the company’s favor and explosive returns are definitely in the forecast.Peloton (PTON)Source: JHVEPhoto / Shutterstock.comRiddled with supply chain issues and questions about its future, shares of fitness giant Peloton are on the decline. However, experts see this dip as a great buying opportunity. The pandemic was a boon for Peloton as people purchased the company’s exercise bike to stay fit indoors. As a result, revenue doubled to $1.06 billionfor the quarter ended on Dec. 31, 2020.But this success was threatened as the company faced numerous supply chain issues and struggled to meet the explosive demand. Peloton is optimistic about its success in the new normal and forecasted revenue of $4 billion for FY21.Despite the short-term headwinds, Peloton is a growth stock that’s worth banking on. Its strong market position and favorable trends in the fitness industry will help PTON pedal higher.Growth Stocks: Etsy (ETSY)Source: ShutterstockE-commerce was a major area of focus during the pandemic and with good reason. For many years, in-store shopping was on the decline as people preferred to shop online. The pandemic-induced lockdowns accelerated this to a whole new level. Hence, it’s safe to assume that e-commerce is here to stay long after the pandemic. This trend bodes well for Etsy, a platform that caters to small artisanal businesses.Etsy is a platform for independent sellers, many of whom have no physical storefront. As an all-purpose enterprise for small businesses, the company saw a massive hike in the number of sellers on its platform during the pandemic. In 2020, sellers on Etsyrose by 62% to 4.4 millionand 81.9 million people purchased products on the website. The resulted in a revenue hike of 111%.As we approach the new normal, it is unlikely that we will see such explosive results. But looking at the long-term prospects, Etsy has a strong value proposition. As one of the biggest platforms for independent sellers, the company’s market competitiveness will lead to higher returns in the future. The future of retail is online, making Etsy a growth stock to have on your radar.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":143,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":105003975,"gmtCreate":1620257527797,"gmtModify":1704340789718,"author":{"id":"3556329315079497","authorId":"3556329315079497","name":"Tslverde","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5f52f5991ed363792008cd868f78181c","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3556329315079497","authorIdStr":"3556329315079497"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Music in demand?

Building that kind of factory from scratch could cost more than 500 billion yen ($4.6 billion), he said.Japan has an advantage in that there is a ready infrastructure of legacy chip manufacturing facilities that could serve as a base for the new plant, helping reduce initial costs. He declined to comment on how much the government is prepared to contribute to lure the foreign players here. The S&P 500 closed Friday just 0.8% off its record high. The small cap Russell 2000 rose 0.11% in May to post its eighth positive month in a row — its longest monthly win streak since 1995.The Nasdaq gained 2.06% last week to post its best weekly performance since April.
