Its members include chip makers like Intel, Nvidia and Qualcomm and companies that rely on semiconductors, like Amazon Web Services, Apple, AT&T, Google, Microsoft and Verizon.\nThe coalition is calling on Congress to provide $50 billion for semiconductor research and manufacturing, which President Biden has proposed as part of his $2.3 trillion infrastructure package.\n“Leaders from a broad range of critical sectors of the U.S. economy, as well as a large and bipartisan group of policymakers in Washington, recognize the essential role of semiconductors in America’s current and future strength,” said John Neuffer, the president and chief executive of the Semiconductor Industry Association, a trade group.\nIn a letter to congressional leaders, the new coalition noted the shortage of semiconductors and said that in the long term, federal funding “would help America build the additional capacity necessary to have more resilient supply chains to ensure critical technologies will be there when we need them.”\nThe shortage has been acutely feltin the auto industry, forcing carmakers to idle plants.Ford Motorsaid last month that it expected the shortage to cut vehicle production by about 50 percent in the second quarter and lower the company’s profit by about $2.5 billion this year.\nThe new coalition does not include any automakers, which have their own ideas for how the government should encourage domestic semiconductor manufacturing. In a letter to congressional leaders last week, groups representing automakers, automotive suppliers and autoworkers expressed support for Mr. Biden’s $50 billion proposal but emphasized the need to increase manufacturing capacity for automotive-grade chips as part of the effort.\nThe letter — from the American Automotive Policy Council, the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association and the United Auto Workers union — suggested providing “specific funding for semiconductor facilities that commit to dedicating a portion of their capacity to motor vehicle-grade chip production.”\nIn a letter to congressional leaders last month, technology trade groups argued against setting aside new production capacity for a specific industry, saying that such a move would amount to “unprecedented market interference.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1193,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":193930131,"gmtCreate":1620743844223,"gmtModify":1704347762947,"author":{"id":"3560605092408880","authorId":"3560605092408880","name":"Ozalis","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8fd60f6aec9bcf42c1aad6b3b77ba379","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3560605092408880","authorIdStr":"3560605092408880"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"?","listText":"?","text":"?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/193930131","repostId":"1104202222","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1228,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":199989659,"gmtCreate":1620662292471,"gmtModify":1704346417435,"author":{"id":"3560605092408880","authorId":"3560605092408880","name":"Ozalis","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8fd60f6aec9bcf42c1aad6b3b77ba379","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3560605092408880","authorIdStr":"3560605092408880"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/199989659","repostId":"2134630976","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2134630976","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1620659400,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2134630976?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-10 23:10","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"Oil prices move lower as traders assess impact of Colonial Pipeline shutdown","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2134630976","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"Gasoline futures fall back after earlier gains.Oil futures moved lower on Monday, giving up earlier ","content":"
Gasoline futures fall back after earlier gains.

Oil futures moved lower on Monday, giving up earlier gains, seen after a ransomware attack forced the shutdown of pipelines supplying around 45% of fuel to the East Coast. The self-appointed “Technoking” of Tesla has been mostly using his massive social media following to pump up the price of doge, tweeting back on April 1 that he would use his SpaceX rockets to put a physical Doge coin on the literal moon, echoing the social media goal of taking the coin’s price “to the moon.”

Beesetti said that she first got involved in dogecoin — she also invests in technology stocks and exchange-traded funds — at the prompting of Musk’s social-media missives from last summer.

She bought dogecoin when it was trading at 3/10ths of a penny and she kept dollar-cost averaging her position in the digital asset created in 2013 even as it hit around 1 cent last August.

Musk has become a rallying point for dogecoin holders on sites like Reddit and his coming appearance on “SNL” is a hotly anticipated moment inside and outside crypto markets, which had largely been centered on bitcoin and Ethereum ,the two largest cryptos in the world.

Dogecoin has long held the reputation as a joke currency in the digital-asset realm but it is hard to deny that its surging value has gripped Main Street and Wall Street’s attention — at least momentarily.

Former “SNL” cast member and comedian David Spade on Thursday tweeted that he wondered if Musk’s appearance on the sketch show would equate to a 90-minute infomercial for doge, adding, perhaps tongue in cheek that he was buying dogecoin.

Oddsmakers at betting platformSportsBettingDime.com have established a number of prop bets about Musk’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” including which if any crypto he mentions first on the show.

Which cryptocurrency does Musk mention first:

1. Bitcoin: -200

2. Dogecoin: +600

3. FIELD: +450

4. Does Not Mention Bitcoin: +400

Beesetti said that she sold about $8,000 worth of dogecoin recently to buy a pair of Gucci shoes, an iPhone and upped her position in Ether thar runs on the Ethereum protocol but has otherwise been a steady holder of doge.

The investor wouldn’t offer specific figures but said that her holdings currently range from 50,000 to 100,000 dogecoin.

Perhaps unlike some investors in doge, she is under no illusion that it has utility but submits to the possibility that momentum could build in a parody asset to such an extent that it forges its own legitimacy.

“Doge doesn’t have intrinsic value,” Beesetti said. “The value becomes real if you and a collective group of people believe in it. And in this case, there are more groups and people than before who believe.”

That said, reality could hit meme coin holders hard come Sunday morning, at least one analyst said.

“Post-SNL, some crypto traders could abandon short-term Dogecoin bets once it becomes clear that it is not skyrocketing to the moon or at the heavily eyed $1 level,” wrote Edward Moya, senior market analyst at Oanda, in a research note.

The analyst also notes that strong conviction of dogecoin investors, known as hodlers in the crypto world, could defy logic and keep prices buoyant.

“The retail-army of traders that have been committed to Doge might remain stubbornly hodlers, so we shouldn’t be surprised if a sell the event reaction does not happen,” the Oanda strategist said.

How it all plays out for dogecoin is anyone’s guess.

“It’s just a meme currency but sometimes the most entertaining outcome becomes the reality,” Beesetti said.

That meme currency has enjoyed a spectacular ride compared against most other assets. The self-appointed “Technoking” of Tesla has been mostly using his massive social media following to pump up the price of doge, tweeting back on April 1 that he would use his SpaceX rockets to put a physical Doge coin on the literal moon, echoing the social media goal of taking the coin’s price “to the moon.”Beesetti said that she first got involved in dogecoin — she also invests in technology stocks and exchange-traded funds — at the prompting of Musk’s social-media missives from last summer. She bought dogecoin when it was trading at 3/10ths of a penny and she kept dollar-cost averaging her position in the digital asset created in 2013 even as it hit around 1 cent last August.Musk has become a rallying point for dogecoin holders on sites like Reddit and his coming appearance on “SNL” is a hotly anticipated moment inside and outside crypto markets, which had largely been centered on bitcoin and Ethereum ,the two largest cryptos in the world.Dogecoin has long held the reputation as a joke currency in the digital-asset realm but it is hard to deny that its surging value has gripped Main Street and Wall Street’s attention — at least momentarily.Former “SNL” cast member and comedian David Spade on Thursday tweeted that he wondered if Musk’s appearance on the sketch show would equate to a 90-minute infomercial for doge, adding, perhaps tongue in cheek that he was buying dogecoin.Oddsmakers at betting platformSportsBettingDime.com have established a number of prop bets about Musk’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” including which if any crypto he mentions first on the show.Which cryptocurrency does Musk mention first:1. Bitcoin: -2002. Dogecoin: +6003. FIELD: +4504. Does Not Mention Bitcoin: +400Beesetti said that she sold about $8,000 worth of dogecoin recently to buy a pair of Gucci shoes, an iPhone and upped her position in Ether thar runs on the Ethereum protocol but has otherwise been a steady holder of doge. The investor wouldn’t offer specific figures but said that her holdings currently range from 50,000 to 100,000 dogecoin.Perhaps unlike some investors in doge, she is under no illusion that it has utility but submits to the possibility that momentum could build in a parody asset to such an extent that it forges its own legitimacy.“Doge doesn’t have intrinsic value,” Beesetti said. “The value becomes real if you and a collective group of people believe in it. And in this case, there are more groups and people than before who believe.”That said, reality could hit meme coin holders hard come Sunday morning, at least one analyst said.“Post-SNL, some crypto traders could abandon short-term Dogecoin bets once it becomes clear that it is not skyrocketing to the moon or at the heavily eyed $1 level,” wrote Edward Moya, senior market analyst at Oanda, in a research note. The analyst also notes that strong conviction of dogecoin investors, known as hodlers in the crypto world, could defy logic and keep prices buoyant.“The retail-army of traders that have been committed to Doge might remain stubbornly hodlers, so we shouldn’t be surprised if a sell the event reaction does not happen,” the Oanda strategist said. How it all plays out for dogecoin is anyone’s guess.“It’s just a meme currency but sometimes the most entertaining outcome becomes the reality,” Beesetti said. That meme currency has enjoyed a spectacular ride compared against most other assets. Gold futures are down 3% so far this year, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 index are up by nearly 13% in 2021, while the Nasdaq Composite Index has gained about over 6% so far this year.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":701,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":105469131,"gmtCreate":1620317300223,"gmtModify":1704341947771,"author":{"id":"3560605092408880","authorId":"3560605092408880","name":"Ozalis","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8fd60f6aec9bcf42c1aad6b3b77ba379","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3560605092408880","authorIdStr":"3560605092408880"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like pls","listText":"Like pls","text":"Like pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/105469131","repostId":"2133575821","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":691,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":106787800,"gmtCreate":1620146763900,"gmtModify":1704339370129,"author":{"id":"3560605092408880","authorId":"3560605092408880","name":"Ozalis","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8fd60f6aec9bcf42c1aad6b3b77ba379","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3560605092408880","authorIdStr":"3560605092408880"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yay","listText":"Yay","text":"Yay","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/106787800","repostId":"1121437206","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1121437206","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1620141918,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1121437206?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-04 23:25","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The 'Perfect Storm' That Led Dogecoin To 60 Cents","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1121437206","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Dogecoin's(CRYPTO: DOGE) price increased nearly 55% from its 24-hour low of $0.3838 all the way to t","content":"
Dogecoin's(CRYPTO: DOGE) price increased nearly 55% from its 24-hour low of $0.3838 all the way to the 60-cent market Tuesday morning, according to CoinMarketCap data. In a letter to congressional leaders last week, groups representing automakers, automotive suppliers and autoworkers expressed support for Mr. Biden’s $50 billion proposal but emphasized the need to increase manufacturing capacity for automotive-grade chips as part of the effort.\nThe letter — from the American Automotive Policy Council, the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association and the United Auto Workers union — suggested providing “specific funding for semiconductor facilities that commit to dedicating a portion of their capacity to motor vehicle-grade chip production.”\nIn a letter to congressional leaders last month, technology trade groups argued against setting aside new production capacity for a specific industry, saying that such a move would amount to “unprecedented market interference.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1193,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":374441003,"gmtCreate":1619479014402,"gmtModify":1704724435883,"author":{"id":"3560605092408880","authorId":"3560605092408880","name":"Ozalis","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8fd60f6aec9bcf42c1aad6b3b77ba379","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3560605092408880","idStr":"3560605092408880"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ouch","listText":"Ouch","text":"Ouch","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/374441003","repostId":"1126815616","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1126815616","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1619451024,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1126815616?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-26 23:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"If Biden hikes capital gains taxes on millionaires, some new investors see a ‘buying opportunity’","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1126815616","media":"MarketWatch","summary":"‘I look at something like this as an opportunity to buy and hold,’ said one millennial investor who’","content":"
‘I look at something like this as an opportunity to buy and hold,’ said one millennial investor who’s on the lookout for a stock market sell-off if capital gains tax rates increase.
\n
Alex Zagorski will be on the lookout for stock market bargains if President Joe Biden goes through with a reported plan to effectively double the capital gains tax rate on people who earn at least $1 million a year.
\n
Biden is reportedly planning tofollow through on a campaign pledgeto apply a 39.6% capital gains rate for millionaires and above. Coupled with a pre-existing 3.8% tax linked to the Affordable Care Act, that would be 43.4% rate. The capital gains rate on profits from investment securities is currently 20% for top earners.
\n
If history is any guide — and if Biden can even get the idea through Congress — there’s going to be a stock market sell-off in some form as some rich investors take advantage of lower rates before they climb.
\n
And Zagorski, a 27-year-old mechanical engineer from Detroit, Mich. with years of investing experience, will be there waiting. “My opinion on investing is very long-term,” he told MarketWatch. “I look at something like this as an opportunity to buy and hold.”
\n
Martin Sanchez, another relatively new investor, who started buying individual stocks in 2018, agrees. “I think there’s a buying opportunity for millennials if we do see a huge sell-off,” said the 27-year-old Winston Salem, N.C. resident, who works in the tech sector.
\n
If Sanchez sees the opening, he might buy up some shares in companies that focus on web security, giving him a chance to spread out his holdings, which are heavier in stocks like DisneyDIS,0.38%and TeslaDIS,0.38%.Sanchez is watching Biden’s tax proposals closely.
\n
There are a lot of open questions about the possible capital gains rate hike. Will Biden include the idea in the “American Families Plan” that he’s expected to unveil on Wednesday? How many other tax hikes targeting rich household will that plan include? Will it pass Congress?
\n
But another question is: What does this potential tax increase mean for a new generation of retail investors?
\n
By now, newer investors have gone through the 2020 market’s fall and rise, and weathered the meme stock trading frenzy that put companies like GameStopGME,3.18%on a share price rollercoaster. Do they stand to gain from an estimated$178 billionin selling that could occur prior to the rate increase?
\n
“There are some who may view it as, ‘Oh, here’s my opportunity to get on board,’” said James Angel, a professor at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
\n
But like so much else based on the potential rate hikes, there are big open questions on how new investors — and investors in general — will react. “Does it create opportunity? Well, maybe,” Angel said. “But you have to look carefully on stock-by-stock basis.”
\n
Indeed,a share price might have little to do with the tax environment, one investor note said Friday. “Ultimately, other factors such as the outlook for economic growth, monetary policy, and interest rates are much more powerful drivers of equity market returns and valuations,” wrote Mark Haefele, chief investment officer for global wealth management at UBS.
\n
‘One would expect people to start selling off’
\n
When President Ronald Reagan signed theTax Reform Act of 1986,he lowered the top income-tax rate from 50% to 28%.
\n
The Republican president also changed the tax code in order to treat long-term capital gains as ordinary income, instead of giving capital gains a preferential rate. Taxable accounts, like a brokerage account, own another 25% in stock market equity.
\n
Another thing to remember is if rich people are selling, it hardly means they are walking away. “I would still be buying for my clients,” said David Haas, owner of Cereus Financial Advisors in Franklin Lakes, N.J. “In other words, selling does not mean getting out of the market. I would sell a client’s gains and buy something similar to continue participation in the market. The point is to take gains, not stop investing.”
\n
As markets digested news Thursday of Biden’s possible capital gains tax hike, they ended the day on a down note. Gold futures are down 3% so far this year, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 index are up by nearly 13% in 2021, while the Nasdaq Composite Index has gained about over 6% so far this year.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":701,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":346581044,"gmtCreate":1618068956288,"gmtModify":1704706452086,"author":{"id":"3560605092408880","authorId":"3560605092408880","name":"Ozalis","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8fd60f6aec9bcf42c1aad6b3b77ba379","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3560605092408880","idStr":"3560605092408880"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yeahhhh~~~","listText":"Yeahhhh~~~","text":"Yeahhhh~~~","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/346581044","repostId":"1142324412","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":888,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":353741354,"gmtCreate":1616541774878,"gmtModify":1704795359685,"author":{"id":"3560605092408880","authorId":"3560605092408880","name":"Ozalis","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8fd60f6aec9bcf42c1aad6b3b77ba379","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3560605092408880","idStr":"3560605092408880"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thanks to Disney+ ?","listText":"Thanks to Disney+ ?","text":"Thanks to Disney+ ?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/353741354","repostId":"1194045564","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1194045564","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1616512875,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1194045564?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-23 23:21","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Netflix Has Been Trailing the Market.
