So the next time we encounter a bear market, it can only be much harsher than that.\"

Now, bonds are in a bubble, and many stocks are starting to bubble, as are the housing markets in South Korea, New Zealand, and many other places, where only commodity prices remain relatively low. In a recent interview, legendary investor Jim Rogers discussed his views on commodity investing and predicted that by the end of 2021 or 2022, everything will be a complete bubble, and the ensuing bear market will eclipse all previous bear markets in history.

The following is the full text of the interview:

Q: One of the biggest news stories recently is that American businesses have become more cautious in the face of the Delta variant. For example, Amazon has postponed the timetable for employees to return to work. However, it seems that the market is completely unconcerned about the new threat of the pandemic.

A: We have all seen that prices have skyrocketed in markets almost everywhere in the world. This is unprecedented because central banks around the world have printed so much money. I'm no expert in timing, but I'm sure everything will come to an end in the coming months. We will witness something unprecedented.

Q: Unlike stocks, commodity prices seem to be more sensitive to news related to the pandemic; for example, crude oil prices reacted immediately. Could the pandemic have a domino effect on raw material prices, inflation, and even corporate profits?

A: In fact, the cheapest asset class in the world right now is commodities. Bond markets around the world are already in a bubble. Stock markets in many places have also begun to form bubbles. Housing markets in South Korea, New Zealand, and many other places have also burst into bubbles. However, goods are still cheap. Silver prices are 50% lower than their all-time highs, and oil prices are 50% lower. I certainly can't predict the specific movements in oil prices this week, but given the continued decline in known reserves and the bursting of the fracking bubble, I think the oil market is expected to remain strong in the coming months. It's hard to predict what will happen every day and every week, but we all know that oil prices have fallen significantly from their all-time highs.

Question; You say reduced reserves and the bursting of the fracking bubble are all supply-side factors, but what about the demand outlook? The world is moving towards electric vehicles and the like, gradually moving away from fossil fuels. Doesn't this mean that the fundamentals of oil can no longer be so strong?

A: Indeed, it is clear that the future of our world belongs to electric vehicles, but the whole process will take a long time. Henry Ford's wife owned an electric car. She disliked internal combustion engines and firmly believed that electric cars were the future, but that was more than a hundred years ago. Yes, true electric vehicles have arrived, but change cannot be accomplished overnight. Meanwhile, oil reserves continue to decline. Of course, I don't mean that everyone should rush to speculate on oil, but I certainly haven't given up hope on oil prices.

Q: So what do you think about the long-term outlook for oil prices? Under what circumstances will you decide that the crude oil game has truly come to an end?

Many alternative energy sources have come to us, especially solar, wind, and tidal energy, but these will take a long time to truly develop. As I mentioned earlier, oil prices are 50% off their all-time highs, while proven reserves around the world continue to decline. The fracking bubble has burst, while reserves are dwindling. In view of this, I would not be at all surprised if oil prices rise sharply in the next two or three years due to supply and demand. We must remember that there are two sides to a coin. Electric vehicles are indeed developing, but it will take time, as Ford's wife has already proven.

Q: What is the situation with agricultural commodities, especially canteens? This is also related to the phasing out of fossil fuels. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now pushing for fuel ethanol vehicles, hoping that by 2025, all automotive fuels will be 80% ethanol-based. What are your thoughts on the prospects for sugar?

A: When it comes to ethanol-fueled cars, Brazilians are already working hard to develop them. Americans are also developing corn as a raw material. Agricultural-based fuels are entirely feasible. We will have more electric vehicles, which will benefit the prices of many commodities. Electric vehicles require several times more copper, lead, and nickel than ordinary cars. Similarly, cars fueled by sugar, corn, or other agricultural products will also greatly increase demand for the corresponding goods. Oil use, on the other hand, is declining. There are many ways to trade commodities, and as mentioned earlier, commodities are the cheapest of all major assets so far in 2021.

Q: You have always been a long-term bull in silver and gold. Let's review what has happened in the past two short weeks. Real yields on Treasury Bond in the United States have fallen to a new low, and the US Dollar Index has also performed poorly. It seemed that everything was ready for the gold price to rise, except for the final push, but the upward trend did not occur. What do you think about this?

A: I haven't bought either silver or gold recently, but I want to emphasize again that I am not a good trader. I am still waiting for the consolidation in silver and gold to deepen further. If I had to buy right now, I would buy more silver than gold. Silver is currently 50% below its all-time high, while gold is only 10% behind. In short, I certainly wouldn't buy any of them right now, but when I do buy them again, I'll probably buy much more silver than gold.

Q: Do you still believe that the US dollar is a safe haven, as you have in the past, or have you discovered other asset classes that are better than the US dollar as a safe haven?

A: I still hold US dollars. Before the recent rally, the US dollar had been lower for some time. When the authorities face problems, people will seek safe havens, and I estimate that they will continue to invest dollar returns for at least the next one or two times. However, we must know that historically, no reserve currency has been able to maintain this status for a hundred or a hundred and fifty years. The dollar has had this status for some time now, and perhaps it's all coming to an end. Of course, this won't happen this year, nor is it likely to happen within two or three years, but given the staggering debt burden in the United States, the dollar's position is already quite fragile.

Who can replace the US dollar? I don't know. Yes, many people, including myself, have invested in silver, but I still don't know what currency in the world can replace the US dollar. Of course, everyone is looking for competitors to the US dollar, after all, the United States is already the world's largest debtor in history.

Q: What is your assessment of the future direction of interest rates? Given the threat of high inflation, how long can global central banks maintain their current low-interest-rate policies?

A: Bonds are clearly in a bubble. Bond prices have never been so expensive in our known world history, and we need to see that we are about to face higher interest rates. Central banks will rack their brains to keep interest rates as low as possible, but sooner or later the market will say we don't care anymore, we don't want to play this game anymore.

Central bankers want to keep interest rates as low as possible, but debt is already piling up everywhere. The debt supply is staggering, and inflation is coming. All these fundamentals point to interest rates. I am neither buying nor shorting right now, but there is no doubt that interest rates will have to rise sooner or later. Maybe not this quarter, but there will never be a rise in the next two or three years.

Q: As we all know, the European Central Bank has made it clear that negative interest rates will persist for a longer period of time, the Bank of England has also said that given the troubles of the Delta variant outbreak, it is difficult for them to turn hawkish, and the US Federal Reserve has also said that rate hike is still a long way off. What do you think? Has the market begun to sense the potential for rate hike, and does this mean the stock market is nearing its peak?

A: Sooner or later, the market will tell the central bank, \"We don't care, just add rate hike.\" The market will eventually regain control of interest rates, and by then, all stocks, real estate, loans, etc. will encounter major trouble because interest rates will become very high once the market gains control. As I said, the supply of bonds is staggeringly large now, and more bonds will come to the market in the future. Inflation is here too. These are the most basic fundamentals that will drive interest rates higher. As for central banks, they have lost control many times in the past, and this time they will eventually lose it again. At that time, the stock market will encounter the most terrible bear market of my lifetime.

In 2008, the main problem with the stock market was that we were burdened with too much debt. However, from 2008 until today, debt has skyrocketed. Therefore, the next time we encounter a bear market, it can only be much harsher than that one.

Q: We have seen that emerging markets have underperformed developed countries so far this year. What do you think caused this? And what do higher interest rates mean for emerging markets and developed countries, respectively?

These things often originate from the margins of the market, places that people don't pay much attention to. We are now seeing some banks in emerging markets and some small countries in trouble.

When Lehman Brothers went bankrupt in 2008, everyone knew trouble was coming, but in reality, problems had been brewing in many markets around the world for months before that. However, although there are signs of problems, I am not selling stocks because of this, because in many markets around the world, there are still quite a few stocks that have not burst into bubbles.

My expectation is that everything will eventually enter a bubble phase, but that may not be until later this year, or 2022, when the finale will arrive, and we will encounter a terrible bear market. ,"news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":4313,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":157460582,"gmtCreate":1625610713346,"gmtModify":1703744714710,"author":{"id":"3566969517736877","authorId":"3566969517736877","name":"EricBong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3fde094766f7e452651736b62882d9cc","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3566969517736877","idStr":"3566969517736877"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"666","listText":"666","text":"666","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/157460582","repostId":"2149353355","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2149353355","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1625546456,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2149353355?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-06 The instrument allows investors to use money borrowed from the Federal Reserve to purchase bonds linked to consumer and corporate debt.

The US reverse repo market has never received much attention, but in recent months it has frequently made headlines, becoming a microcosm of the excess liquidity following the unprecedented massive monetary easing in the US.

Funds with nowhere to go
According to data released by the New York Federal Reserve, on Wednesday, June 30, Eastern Time, the Fed's overnight reverse repurchase agreements approached $1 trillion for the first time in history, with 90 counterparties depositing $991.9 billion in the Fed's overnight fixed-rate reverse repurchase agreements.

As we approach the key psychological integer level of $1 trillion, this also marks the 10th consecutive trading day that the figure has exceeded $700 billion and the third consecutive trading day that it has exceeded $800 billion. The number of 90 counterparties on that day was also the highest since 2016.

In contrast to the People's Bank of China's open market operations, the Federal Reserve releases liquidity through reverse repos and withdraws liquidity through reverse repos. Overnight reverse repos have the function of withdrawing liquidity, where qualified counterparties such as money market funds and banks deposit cash with the Federal Reserve in exchange for high-quality collateral such as U.S. Treasury Bond.

As Wall Street Insights previously mentioned,The sharp surge in reverse repurchase balances reflects the current situation of excess dollar liquidity in the US financial market. In other words, overnight reverse repos serve as a haven for market funds during periods of excess liquidity.

When liquidity is excessive, market funds often choose to buy US Treasury Bond in pursuit of safe assets. When a large amount of funds buy US Treasury bonds, US Treasury yields will continue to decline and may even fall into negative interest rate territory. At this point, overnight reverse repurchase agreements become a safe haven for market funds because the overnight reverse repurchase rate acts as the lower limit of the Federal Reserve's Interest Rate Corridor. Everything seems to be going smoothly, but in an unnoticed corner of Wall Street, a storm is brewing.

Zoltan Pozsar sensed a crisis. This 42-year-old, born in HungaryCredit SuisseAnalysts are known for accurately predicting the trend of the reverse repo market.

Weeks before the major turmoil in the U.S. currency market in 2019, Pozsar issued a warning, which earned him the nicknames \"the oracle of market plumbing\" and \"RepoLegend\".

This time, Pozsar predicts that a large amount of funds will change hands in the U.S. money market this summer, reaching trillions of dollars. \"If you treat bank reserves as a deck of cards, then that deck will be reshuffled.\" In Pozsar's view, such a large-scale capital rotation is very likely to trigger a market turmoil that is underestimated by most people.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2015, Pozsar worked at the U.S. Treasury Department and the New York Federal Reserve. During the 2008 financial crisis, he assisted senior White House officials and the U.S. Treasury Department in unblocking the asset-backed bond market through the Term asset-backed Loan Facility. The instrument allows investors to use money borrowed from the Federal Reserve to purchase bonds linked to consumer and corporate debt.

Since the Federal Reserve does not want to fall into negative interest rates, the overnight reverse repurchase rate remains at 0% even in a post-pandemic zero-interest-rate environment. Previously, the overnight reverse repo rate (ON RRP), despite being only zero, still attracted a large amount of capital. ,"home_visible":1,"media_name":"老虎资讯综合","id":"102","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1628935539,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1100243251?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-14 Everything seems to be going smoothly, but in an unnoticed corner of Wall Street, a storm is brewing.

This means that funds chasing short-term yields have nowhere to go and can only be deposited into the Federal Reserve without interest.

Two weeks ago, ON June 16, the Federal Reserve FOMC announced that it would raise both the excess reserve rate (IOER), which is the upper limit of the Federal Funds rate range, and the overnight reverse repo rate (ON RRP), which is the lower limit, by 5 basis points, bringing the ON RRP to 0.05%.

Subsequently, the use of the Federal Reserve's reverse repurchase tools surged further.

A major rotation of funds
Pozsar has been closely monitoring developments in the reverse repo market.

He now publishes at least two issues a week of the Global Money Dispatch, which has become essential reading for many traders, investment bankers, and policymakers.

In a recent bulletin, Pozsar stated that the Federal Reserve's monetary easing policy has distorted investor motivation, with ultra-low interest rates and central bank bond purchases keeping the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury Bond hovering around 1.5%, below the inflation rate.

Financial companies are willing to accept the Federal Reserve's negligible interest rates because the Fed's massive stimulus program has brought them a large amount of money that has driven interest rates down to very low levels, with almost nowhere else to put them. He believes this could ultimately mean that bank deposits and reserves held in short-term Treasury Bond will flow back to the Federal Reserve through reverse repurchase tools, a shift that could trigger unexpected volatility in unusual places.

Pozsa stated, \"We are discussing a large-scale rotation, where a large amount of funds will flow from short-term Treasury Bond to reverse repurchase instruments.\"

According to Pozsar, the increase in reverse repo rates should weaken the demand of money market funds and foreign central banks for short-term US Treasury Bond. These deposits and bank reserves will eventually flow into the Federal Reserve, a process he calls \"write-offs.\"

However, he does not believe that short-term yields will rise sharply. He expects that as money management companies allow short-term U.S. Treasury Bond to mature, cash reserves will gradually flow from banks to reverse repurchase instruments. He stated that Wall Street's casual attitude towards this shift underestimated its uncertain consequences, which could include unexpected volatility.

Pozsar predicts that as short-term US Treasury bonds held by financial institutions such as money market funds mature at the end of August, up to $1.3 trillion will flow into reverse repos.

As of May 31, large money market funds held nearly $1 trillion in short-term bonds that were due to mature on August 31—a large amount in a very short period of time. In addition, this does not include the $300 billion in short-term debt held by smaller money market funds. In other words, by the end of August, we will see $1.3 trillion flow from short-term debt into reverse repos!
The faucet that won't turn off
The persistent flood of liquidity has made many analysts uneasy.

According to the Wall Street JournalJPMorgan ChaseJoshua Younger, head of interest rate derivatives strategy, points out that excess cash in reverse repurchase instruments may foreshadow future troubles:

Worryingly, this is just the tip of the iceberg; we can't see the rest. The more money that eventually returns to the facility, the greater the overall surplus of funds, and the greater the risk that these surplus funds will be used in destabilizing ways. However, some analysts are more optimistic. They believe that the hundreds of billions of dollars flowing into the Federal Reserve's tool show that excess cash is not flowing into more speculative bets such as GameStop or Bitcoin. There is no harm in money flowing back and forth between the Federal Reserve and back to the central bank through the financial system.

Gordon Shannon, portfolio manager at Twenty-Four Asset Management, said the large amount of dollars involved could trigger temporary volatility as funds move, but \"further growth in reverse repo use is not necessarily a dangerous sign.\"

But Pozsar was concerned.

In the short term, the withdrawal of large amounts of funds from the US short-term Treasury Bond may not have serious consequences. The U.S. debt ceiling will take effect at the end of July, putting pressure on the Treasury Department to reduce short-term debt issuance. Short-term investors are keen to snap up these Treasury Bond due to anticipated supply shortages in Treasury Bond.

However, the Federal Reserve's continued quantitative easing is still injecting liquidity into the market.Pozsar predicts that $250 billion will flow into the market through QE in the next two months, bringing the total amount of funds that need to be absorbed to $400 billion.

Pozsar stated that \"writing off\" $400 billion is a significant amount, and this could lead to market anomalies as banks restructure their balance sheets.
","source":"wallstreetcn_api","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The $1.3 trillion \"big transfer\" is destined to be anything but quiet this summer.
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe $1.3 trillion \"big transfer\" is destined to be anything but quiet this summer.\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
The U.S. inflation alarm seems to have been lifted, and with the Federal Reserve reassuring the financial markets, the frenzy continues.

Pozsar stated that \"writing off\" $400 billion is a significant amount, and this could lead to market anomalies as banks restructure their balance sheets.
,"news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"161125":0.9,"513500":0.9,"BND":0.9,"DOG":0.9,"SPXU":0.9,"QQQ":0.9,"UDOW":0.9,"PSQ":0.9,"NQmain":0.9,"QLD":0.9,"MNQmain":0.9,"UPRO":0.9,"QID":0.9,"DJX":0.9,"SHY":0.9,"DXD":0.9,"SDOW":0.9,"OEF":0.9,"SSO":0.9,"TLT":0.9,".SPX":0.9,".DJI":0.9,"IVV":0.9,"SDS":0.9,"ZTmain":0.9,"IEI":0.9,"ZFmain":0.9,"UBmain":0.9,"ZNmain":0.9,"TQQQ":0.9,"TNmain":0.9,"DDM":0.9,"ESmain":0.9,"GOVT":0.9,"IEF":0.9,"OEX":0.9,"SPY":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,"SQQQ":0.9,"ZBmain":0.9,"SH":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":5441,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":832368540,"gmtCreate":1629592543480,"gmtModify":1676530073694,"author":{"id":"3566969517736877","authorId":"3566969517736877","name":"EricBong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3fde094766f7e452651736b62882d9cc","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3566969517736877","idStr":"3566969517736877"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/832368540","repostId":"1145710810","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1145710810","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"提供来自华尔街的观点，观察市场，提供独道的解读视角。","home_visible":1,"media_name":"老虎锐评","id":"1005414032","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1629509366,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1145710810?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-21 The minutes of the Federal Reserve's July meeting, released this Wednesday, showed that the Fed hopes to begin reducing its monthly asset purchases by the end of this year, and some Fed officials hope to take action soon, such as announcing the start of a shrinking balance sheet at the September FOMC meeting. These officials are concerned that the continued rise in inflation will push the U.S. inflation rate higher than the previously set 2% inflation target next year and will ultimately affect the pace of economic recovery. Preliminary data from a consumer survey conducted by the University of Michigan shows that the consumer confidence index has fallen sharply this month. Powell's speech has attracted much attention from the market, where he is expected to signal whether to begin tapering bond purchases in September, his views on the Delta variant and inflation expectations, and his outlook for economic development in the post-pandemic era. Powell had previously believed that the high inflation data was only a temporary phenomenon.

Gimber of JPMorgan Asset Management said that global economic growth is expected to be very strong but also very uneven in the coming months, and if inflation proves to be a longer-term condition, it will change the pace at which the Federal Reserve has previously tightened monetary policy. Led by the Nasdaq, the market focused on Federal Reserve Chairman Powell's speech at next week's Jackson Hole meeting regarding Taper, inflation expectations, and the pandemic outlook. Tesla held a press conference focusing on AI and robotics, Microsoft announced a price increase for its Microsoft Office 365 Business Enterprise subscription, and Apple announced that it would allow employees to return to the office next year due to the pandemic. Vaccine chip stocks rose, with Tesla up 1.01%, Nvidia up 5.14%, Microsoft up 2.56%, Apple up 1.02%, and BioNTech up 5.08%.

Chinese concept stocks rebounded, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) held a major meeting and stated that it would create conditions to promote Sino-US audit and regulatory cooperation. The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed the \"Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China,\" which makes legislative provisions for technology companies to collect and transfer consumer data. Li Auto rose 3.70%, JD.com rose 2.30%, and Pinduoduo rose 3.48%.

Market focus on next week's Jackson Hole meeting

Judging from U.S. employment figures and quarterly business reports, the U.S. economy remains strong, but investors are concerned about the potential further deterioration of the situation caused by the Delta variant. The minutes of the Federal Reserve's July meeting, released this Wednesday, showed that the Fed hopes to begin reducing its monthly asset purchases by the end of this year, and some Fed officials hope to take action soon, such as announcing the start of a shrinking balance sheet at the September FOMC meeting. The retail sales report released by the Ministry of Commerce showed that spending weakened in July, while credit card data showed that the situation worsened further in August.

The Federal Reserve said on Thursday that Fed Chairman Jerome Powell will deliver a speech on the economic outlook at a seminar in Jackson Hole next Thursday and Friday.

Young of Tactical Alpha stated that the greater the impact of the Delta variant, the less likely the Federal Reserve is to begin tapering its purchases. Investors would rather face the rumored tapering of asset purchases than a situation where the Delta variant spreads out of control and drags down the global economy.

Powell himself is also experiencing pressure from*, and his four-year term as Federal Reserve chairman will end next February. Previously, Democratic activist Warren criticized Powell's actions in relaxing banking regulations during a hearing in July, and Ohio Democratic Senator Brown, chairman of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, expressed similar criticism. The committee is responsible for holding hearings on the confirmation of Federal Reserve nominees. In a letter to President Biden on Thursday, Republican Senator Daines said that Biden should reinstate Powell at the helm of the Federal Reserve for another four years to build confidence in the economic recovery, as the U.S. economy still faces significant risks. This letter is the Banking Committee's official statement regarding Powell's*.

At the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.65% to 35,120.08 points; The S&P 500 rose 0.81% to 4441.67 points; The Nasdaq rose 1.19% to 14,714.66 points.

Audit and Data Supervision of Chinese Concept Stocks

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) held its 2021 year-end regulatory work conference to analyze the current situation and plan key tasks for the next stage. Yi Huiman, Party Secretary and Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), delivered a report entitled \"Adhering to the principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, deepening reform and opening up, and further promoting the high-quality development of the capital market\". The meeting proposed to unswervingly promote the institutional opening up of the capital market, create conditions to promote Sino-US audit and regulatory cooperation, strengthen market communication, and stabilize policy expectations and the institutional environment. We will deepen the connectivity between the mainland and Hong Kong markets and ensure the stable development of Hong Kong's capital market. Since the beginning of this year, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) has made several statements regarding the listing of Chinese companies in the United States and the auditing and supervision of Chinese concept stocks, seeking to strengthen cross-border supervision and cooperation with relevant US regulatory agencies in the financial field.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the highest legislative body, passed the Personal Information Protection Law today, which will take effect on November 1. The report states that critical information infrastructure operators and those whose personal information reaches the amount stipulated by the Cyberspace Administration of China should store the personal information processed and collected within China. Those that need to be provided overseas should pass a security assessment organized by the national cyberspace administration.

At the close of trading, JD.com rose 2.30%, Alibaba fell 1.61%, Didi rose 3.75%, Tencent Music rose 3.18%, and Bilibili rose 3.44%.

Q: So what do you think about the long-term outlook for oil prices? ,"news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":4313,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":150545637,"gmtCreate":1624923043529,"gmtModify":1703847836204,"author":{"id":"3566969517736877","authorId":"3566969517736877","name":"EricBong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3fde094766f7e452651736b62882d9cc","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3566969517736877","idStr":"3566969517736877"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Okoklah","listText":"Okoklah","text":"Okoklah","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/150545637","repostId":"1186578125","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1186578125","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624879503,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1186578125?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-28 views on the current stock market bubble.

In the video, which was requested by the Robin Hood Foundation to explain the stock bubble, Dalio stated that while indicators show that some stocks currently \"have a bubble,\" the stock market is not necessarily in a bubble right now.

<img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed46d81d71867f2d1eb8b3b9ad012779\" tg-width=\"532\" to signs such as buyer leverage levels and the number of new buyers.

In fact, as early as mid-May, Dalio shared his research on stock market bubbles on his official WeChat account, detailing these six systemic \"bubble indicators,\" including price, bullish sentiment, and leverage:

1. How high is the price compared to traditional measurement standards?

2. Do prices reflect an unsustainable situation?

3. How many new buyers (i.e., people who were not previously in the market) entered the market?

4. How widespread is bullish sentiment?

5. Does the trade rely on high leverage?

6. Do buyers engage in excessive forward trading (such as building inventory, entering into forward agreements, etc.) to speculate or protect themselves from future price increases?

The following is the full text of the video presentation titled \"Is the Stock Market Currently in a Bubble?\"

Hello everyone, it's great to be here on behalf of everyone who has been helped by Robin Hood (the Foundation).

You know, I knew Robin Hood because I knew Paul Tudor Jones when Robin Hood was a glimmer of light in his eyes. He would play basketball with the kids in the Bed Stuy neighborhood, and I was fortunate to see him and all the staff at the Robin Hood Foundation helping alleviate poverty in America in a very personal and efficient way, and to be a part of it. Everything you've done has been wonderful, so I just want to thank you for everything you've done and tell you how happy I am to be able to come here and do my small part.

I was asked to talk about bubbles, whether the market, the stock market, is in a bubble, and what kind of bubble it is. I just want to give you some thoughts on this problem, I only have about 10 minutes. So I want to speak quickly. A few years ago, I started thinking: What is a bubble? When we are in a bubble, what do I mean by bubble? Because in my 50-year investment career, I have seen many bubbles.

There are six things in my mind that I basically think will cause a bubble, and I've listed them one by one. Now, look at them so that you know what I'm talking about.

First, as you know, how high our prices are relative to traditional price measures is a consideration. For example, you know things like our PSI or yield, which is a consideration, but it's not what I'm talking about as a bubble.

For example, high prices and low returns may occur, and this situation can last for a long time. However, this does not mean that the bubble will burst; it is just one of the components.

Second, price reflects unsustainable conditions, referring to the nature of the buyer, who is buying, and how they are buying. Unsustainable conditions can lead to price adjustments or declines, and then a third speculative factor emerges—new buyers are attracted to the market.

You know, it’s like a cocktail party where some people who never attend show up, which is investing in certain assets, maybe tech stocks, maybe real estate, but either way, everyone thinks that not holding those things will make them feel stupid, and so on.

The fifth is the large purchase of forward \"contracts,\" such as someone buying an apartment they don't know about because they think it will rise, or using the era of large-scale commodity trading as an example. I would observe people who use commodities, who buy a large number of forward contracts. In other words, buy inventory to protect yourself from rising prices.

So when they leave the market—as we've seen recently in the commodities market—when they sell forward contracts and prices continue to fall, they say, \"I don't want it either.\"

When prices rise, they will say that we need to implement premium protection to hedge against the price increase. Therefore, buyers who extend these forward purchases are a (bubble) indicator.

I use this table to show the entire stock market, and I apply this framework to basically all assets, and use a systematic approach to try to determine which ones are in a bubble. In my opinion, among all kinds of stocks, some have bubbles and some do not, and the entire stock market is as this chart shows.

This chart dates back to 1910 and is an indicator of the extent of the bubble. You can see that there is a bubble now, but it is not as high as in 2000 and 1929, but it is higher than in 2007.

Let's look at stocks with bubbles; according to these criteria, many stocks do not have bubbles.

This chart dates back to 1995. Compared to 2000, the market capitalization of the top 1,000 companies has a bubble of about 5%, and the share of the entire S&P 500 index with a bubble is about 2%. Although not as high as in 2000, it is higher than in 2007.

Now let's look at the next chart showing bubble stocks.

When I separate these bubble stocks from the S&P 500 index, I can see that the proportion of bubble stocks in the broader market is decreasing. I believe this situation is likely to continue, but we are currently in a bubble. One problem is that bubbles can expand and contract, and timing is a big issue.

The chart below dates back to 1900. The chart above shows the ratio of debt to gross domestic product (GDP), the blue line below shows the interest rate, and the red line shows the scale of money printing, which is the amount of money flowing in. So you can see that when debt accumulates, as is the case now, and near-zero interest rates are implemented, both conditions exist simultaneously, and money is printed in large quantities.

This is a key factor in bubbles because there is a lot of liquidity entering the market, and then a lot of money drives up the prices of various assets, so you can see that when the blue line touches zero, the red line rises sharply. A large amount of liquidity, massive debt financing, and debt monetization have created a typical bubble.

Other factors that can create bubbles are new stock listings, especially if they are not profitable, or in many cases have no prospect of profitability.

These are also considerations for bubbles, so I would say that you cannot say that the current stock market is in the highest degree of bubble. You must distinguish which stocks are in a bubble or have always been in a bubble. Which stocks are not? In fact, many stocks are not currently in a bubble.

So I hope this gives you some insight into bubbles, how I view them, and where we are right now. Thank you.
","source":"lsy1574157197600","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Dalio's latest speech: The stock market is not necessarily in a bubble right now.
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nDalio's latest speech: The stock market is not necessarily in a bubble right now.\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
On June 24, Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, posted two tweets introducing his six metrics for measuring bubbles and released a 10-minute video explaining his views on the current stock market bubble.

In the video, which was requested by the Robin Hood Foundation to explain the stock bubble, Dalio stated that while indicators show that some stocks currently \"have a bubble,\" the stock market is not necessarily in a bubble right now.

\"By bubble, I mean unsustainably high prices, and I measure it using six metrics,\" Dalio tweeted, noting that investors need to pay attention to signs such as buyer leverage levels and the number of new buyers.

In fact, as early as mid-May, Dalio shared his research on stock market bubbles on his official WeChat account, detailing these six systemic \"bubble indicators,\" including price, bullish sentiment, and leverage:

Thank you.
\n
\n\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/61ac6f61084482a9c0c70291c78e92f5","relate_stocks":{".SPX":"S&P 500 Index",".IXIC":"NASDAQ Composite",".DJI":"道琼斯"},"source_url":"https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/lv14Xv-iB491-ddK3pdX_w","is_english":false,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1186578125","content_text":"全球最大对冲基金桥水创始人达里奥6月24日连发两篇推文，介绍自己衡量泡沫的六项指标，并发布了一个10分钟的视频阐述自己对当下股市泡沫的看法。\n在这个应罗宾汉基金会要求解释股票泡沫的视频中，达里奥表示，虽然指标显示一些股票目前“存在泡沫”，但股市眼下不一定处于泡沫中。\n\n达里奥在推文中写道，“我所说的泡沫是指不可持续的高价，我用六项指标来衡量它”，并指出投资者需关注买家杠杆水平和新买家数量等迹象。\n事实上，早在5月中旬时，达里奥就曾在公众号分享了他对股市泡沫的研究，详述了这六种系统性“泡沫指标”，包括价格、看涨情绪、杠杆高低等：\n1． 相对传统的衡量标准，价格有多高？\n2． 价格是否反映了不可持续的状况？\n3． 有多少新买家（即之前不在市场里的人）进入了市场？\n4． 看涨情绪有多普遍？\n5． 交易是否依赖高杠杆的支撑？\n6． 买家是否过度进行远期交易（如建立库存、签订远期协议等）来投机或保护自己免受未来价格上涨的影响？\n\n以下是这个名为《股市目前是否处于泡沫中？》的视频演讲全文：\n大家好，很高兴能代表所有被罗宾汉（基金会）帮助过的人来到这里。\n你们知道，知道罗宾汉，是因为我认识保罗·都铎·琼斯，当时罗宾汉是他眼里的一抹微光，他会在贝德福德-斯图文森特街区（Bed Stuy）和孩子们一起打篮球，我很幸运能够看到他和罗宾汉基金的所有工作人员，以一种非常个人化和高效的方式来帮助减轻美国的贫困，并且能够成为其中的一员。你们所做的一切都很棒，所以我只想感谢你们所做的一切，并且告诉你们能够来到这里并尽我的微薄之力，我有多么高兴。\n我被要求谈论泡沫，市场、股市是否处于泡沫中，以及什么样的泡沫。我只想给你们一些关于这个问题的想法，我只有大约10分钟的时间。所以我想讲快点，几年前，我开始思考：什么是泡沫？当我们身处泡沫中时，我所说的泡沫是指什么？因为在我50年的投资生涯中，我看到了很多泡沫。\n在我脑海中，有六件事是我基本上认为会导致产生泡沫的，我将他们一一列举出来。现在，看着它们，以便您知道我在说什么。\n首先，您知道，我们的价格相对于传统的价格衡量标准有多高是一个考虑因素。例如，你知道我们的PSI或收益率之类的东西，这是一个考虑因素，但这不是我所说的泡沫。\n比方说，可能出现价格高回报低的现象，而且这种情况可以持续很长时间，但这并不意味着泡沫会破灭，只是其中一个组成因素。\n第二，价格是反映不可持续的条件，这里指的是买方的性质，谁在买入和如何买入，不可持续的条件会产生了价格调整或下跌，然后就出现了第三个投机因素——市场上的新买家被吸引了。\n您知道，这就像鸡尾酒会，有些从不参加的人出现了，也就是投资了某些资产，可能是科技股，也可能是房地产，但无论如何，每个人都想，没有持有这些东西会让他们觉得自己很蠢，诸如此类。\n第五项是大额购买远期“合约”，比如有人买了他们不了解的公寓，因为他们认为公寓会上涨，或者用大规模交易大宗商品的年代来举例。我会观察那些使用大宗商品的人，他们购买了大量远期合约。换句话说，购买库存以保护自己免受价格上涨的影响。\n所以当他们离场的时候——正如我们最近在大宗商品市场看到的——当他们抛售远期合约时，价格持续下跌，他们会说“我也不想要它”。\n而当价格上涨时，他们会说我们要进行溢价保护，对冲价格上涨。所以，延长了这些远期购买的买家是一个（泡沫）指标。\n我用这张表显示整个股市，我把这个框架基本上应用到所有资产上，并且使用一种系统化的方法，试图判断哪些处在泡沫中。在我看来，在各种各样的股票中，有些存在泡沫，有些则没有，而整个股市正如这张图表所显示的。\n这张图表可以追溯到1910年，它是一个彰显泡沫程度的指标。你可以看到当前是有泡沫的，但没有2000年和1929年那么高，不过高于2007年。\n\n让我们看看存在泡沫的股票，根据这些标准，很多股票没有泡沫。\n\n这张图表追溯到1995年，与2000年相比，前1000名的企业市值存在泡沫比例约为5%，整个标普500指数存在泡沫的份额约为2%，虽然不如2000年高，但比2007年高。\n现在来看下一张显示了泡沫股票的图表。\n\n我把这些泡沫股票与标准普尔500指数分离，可以看到泡沫股在大盘中的比例下降，我相信这种情况很可能会持续下去，但目前处于泡沫之中。其中一个问题是，泡沫可以扩张和收缩，时机是个大问题。\n下面这张图表可以追溯到1900年，上图显示的是债务与国内生产总值（GDP）之比，下图中蓝线显示的是利率，红线显示印钞规模，也就是流入的货币量。所以你可以看到当债务累加时，就像现在的情况，并且实施近零利率，这两种情况同时存在时就会大肆印钞。\n\n这是泡沫的一个关键因素，因为有大量的流动性进入市场，然后有很多资金哄抬各种各样的资产价格，所以你可以看到，当蓝线触及零时，红线大幅上行。大量流动性，大量的债务融资和债务货币化形成了一个典型的泡沫。\n其他可能产生泡沫的因素则是新股上市，特别是如果它们没有盈利，或者是在许多情况下没有盈利的前景。\n这些也是泡沫的考虑因素，所以我想说，你不能说当前的股市处于最高程度的泡沫，你必须区分哪些股票正处于泡沫中、或者一直处于泡沫中；哪些股票没有，实际上目前有许多股票并没有处于泡沫中。\n所以我希望这能让你对泡沫有所了解、我如何看待它们以及我们目前处于什么位置。谢谢。","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":5121,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
