The postelection rally has created almost $320 billion in stock market value, pushing Tesla's market capitalization to about $1.1 trillion. Shares haven't closed above $350 since April 2022.

Many Wall Street analysts agreed that Donald Trump's election to a second term in the White House could benefit Tesla given the close relationship between Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk that developed during the campaign.

Monday, Wedbush analyst Dan Ives boosted his target price to $400, the highest among major brokers according to FactSet, from $300. He rates Tesla stock Buy.

"The Trump White House win will be a game changer for the autonomous [driving] and AI story for Tesla and Musk over the coming years," wrote Ives. "We fully expect under a Trump White House these key initiatives will now get fast-tracked as the federal regulatory spiderweb that Musk & Co. have encountered over the past few years around [self-driving cars] clears significantly under a new Trump era."

Large target price boosts typically help stocks. Some short covering may also be helping. Short sellers borrow stock they don't own and sell it, betting prices will decline. When stocks rally rapidly, short sellers can rush and buy all at once, sending shares higher.

About 3% of the Tesla shares available for trading, or about 79 million shares, have been sold short, according to FactSet. That isn't a high but unalarming amount. funds buy shares of 27 stocks on Tuesday amid selloffPaired with deflation tweets, Wood is ‘walking the walk’: BITuesday’s brutal selloff in the aftermath of August’s hotter-than-expected inflation print looked like opportunity to Cathie Wood’s Ark Investment Management. The firm bought 27 stocks across its eight exchange-traded funds on Tuesday, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Thelargest buywas Roku Inc., which is already the third biggest holding in the firm’s flagship $8 billion ARK Innovation ETF (tickerARKK).The purchases came on a day when the technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 posted its worst one-day drop since March 2020, fueled by building bets that the Federal Reserve will unleash a historically large rate hike next week to stamp out price pressures. But while inflation is front-and-center for policy makers, Ark founder Wood tweeted on Monday that deflation is “in the pipeline” -- and Tuesday’s purchases suggest the firm is positioning for that.“Her buys have gone down quite a bit after January but are starting moving up last few days. It just seems like her conviction is higher now,” said Athanasios Psarofagis. Paired with Wood’s tweets Tuesday, “It seems like she is just walking the walk.”Ark’s ETF lineup has come under immense pressure in 2022 at the hands of a historically aggressive Fed. A series of jumbo rate hikes has battered the market’s speculative corners, dragging ARKK more than 55% lower in 2022.Amid the drawdown, Wood has stuck to her strategy of doubling-down on losers and offloading winners. Roku is nearly 71% lower this year, while Butterfly Network Inc and Zoom Video Communications Inc., Tuesday’s second and third largest buys, have dropped about 14% and 58% in 2022, respectively. The purchases were paired with the sale of roughly 1.5 million shares of Signify Health, which has seen its stock price soar about 160% since mid-June amid a bidding war for the company.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"ARKG":0.9,"ARKF":0.9,"ARKQ":0.9,"ARKK":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3406,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9936466411,"gmtCreate":1662806408734,"gmtModify":1676537144350,"author":{"id":"3568042901804000","authorId":"3568042901804000","name":"beankim","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7e86bf0ae7dd84473464d6af842304eb","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568042901804000","idStr":"3568042901804000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hahahahahahaa wow","listText":"Hahahahahahaa wow","text":"Hahahahahahaa wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9936466411","repostId":"2266061608","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3279,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9930237660,"gmtCreate":1661963052953,"gmtModify":1676536613251,"author":{"id":"3568042901804000","authorId":"3568042901804000","name":"beankim","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7e86bf0ae7dd84473464d6af842304eb","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568042901804000","idStr":"3568042901804000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"9h man not again","listText":"9h man not again","text":"9h man not again","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9930237660","repostId":"1164311011","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1164311011","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1661959824,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1164311011?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-08-31 23:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Powell Abandons Soft Landing Goal as He Seeks Growth Recession","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1164311011","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"Fed chief wants weak growth, soft jobs market to cut inflation‘It’s a bit like dripping water tortur","content":"
\n
Fed chief wants weak growth, soft jobs market to cut inflation‘It’s a bit like dripping water torture,’ economist Swonk saysForget about a soft landing. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell is now aiming for something much more painful for the economy to put an end to elevated inflation. The trouble is, even that may not be enough. It’s known to economists by the paradoxical name of a “growth recession.” Unlike a soft landing, it’s a protracted period of meager growth and rising unemployment. But it stops short of an outright contraction of the economy.Powell “buried the concept of a soft landing” with his Aug. 26 speech in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, said Diane Swonk, chief economist at KPMG LLP. Now, “the Fed’s goal is to grind inflation down by slowing growth below its potential,” which officials peg at 1.8%.“It’s a bit like dripping water torture,” added Swonk, who attended the Fed’s annual Jackson Hole symposium last week. “It is a torturous process but less torturous and less painful than an abrupt recession.”The shift in Powell’s message got the attention of Wall Street. Stock prices have swooned since the Fed chair vowed to do what it takes to rid the economy of too-high inflation.Politicians in Washington took note too. Massachusetts Senator and former Democratic Party presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren voiced concern that the Fed could tip the economy into a recession, while Senate Republican Party leader Mitch McConnell said a downturn was likely as the central bank raises rates to combat inflation. In the archetypal soft landing in 1994-95, the Fed slowed the economy briefly and contained inflation through a doubling of interest rates. But unemployment never really rose. It just stopped falling for a while. The late New York University economist Solomon Fabricant coined the term “growth recession” in research published in 1972. While such a scenario may not be as costly as an actual contraction, it poses dangers for the economy nonetheless, he suggested at the time.A tiger contained “is not the same as a tiger loose in the streets, but neither is it a paper tiger,” he wrote.Powell has seemingly concluded that it will take a tiger -- and not just a soft landing -- to attack America’s pernicious inflation. In his Jackson Hole speech, he said the labor market was “clearly out of balance,” with the demand for workers substantially exceeding the supply. That’s led to rapid wage rises that are incompatible with the Fed’s 2% inflation target.“Reducing inflation is likely to require a sustained period of below-trend growth,” Powell said. “Moreover, there will very likely be some softening of labor market conditions” -- widely seen as a euphemism for higher unemployment.Joblessness probably held steady in August at a five-decade low of 3.5% as payroll growth slowed to 300,000 from 528,000 in July, according to the median forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg. The monthly data are scheduled to be released by the Labor Department on Friday.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".IXIC":0.9,".DJI":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3424,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9025869725,"gmtCreate":1653659169867,"gmtModify":1676535322504,"author":{"id":"3568042901804000","authorId":"3568042901804000","name":"beankim","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7e86bf0ae7dd84473464d6af842304eb","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568042901804000","idStr":"3568042901804000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Padapee padapoo ","listText":"Padapee padapoo ","text":"Padapee padapoo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9025869725","repostId":"1131742262","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1131742262","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1653655854,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1131742262?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-27 20:50","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nvidia Stock: Investors Are Buying the Dip. Musk has turned Tesla into the most valuable car company in the world by, essentially, paying no attention to what traditional automotive companies and analysts say.Still, the news isn’t doing much to Tesla stock, which is up about 2% on Monday.S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures are up about 0.7% and 0.5%, respectively.Investors are really waiting for the Federal Reserve to comment on interest rates later in the week. The U.S. 10 Year Treasury bond yield is up to about 1.6% from 1.2% only a few weeks back. The rapid rise has hit growth stocks, including Tesla shares. The Nasdaq Composite, home to many richly valued, high-growth stocks, is down about 5% since Feb. 16, when the index hit an all-time high. The Dow is up about 4% over the same period.Tesla stock is down about 13% since then. Higher rate shit high-growth stocks harder than others. They make it more expensive to finance growth like what Mush is targeting—vehicle delivery growth a year on average for the foreseeable future. What’s more, growth companies generate cash far in the future which is worth a little less, relatively speaking, when investors have other options to earn higher rates of interest today.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":647,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":376754324,"gmtCreate":1619151803068,"gmtModify":1704720453232,"author":{"id":"3568042901804000","authorId":"3568042901804000","name":"beankim","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7e86bf0ae7dd84473464d6af842304eb","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568042901804000","idStr":"3568042901804000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Everytime i sleep early, something bad happens to the market","listText":"Everytime i sleep early, something bad happens to the market","text":"Everytime i sleep early, something bad happens to the market","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/376754324","repostId":"2129336573","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":780,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":839509086,"gmtCreate":1629164365945,"gmtModify":1676529950178,"author":{"id":"3568042901804000","authorId":"3568042901804000","name":"beankim","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7e86bf0ae7dd84473464d6af842304eb","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568042901804000","idStr":"3568042901804000"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I am looking at a deep drop for roblox and abnb and will enter","listText":"I am looking at a deep drop for roblox and abnb and will enter","text":"I am looking at a deep drop for roblox and abnb and will enter","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":10,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/839509086","repostId":"1140894285","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1140894285","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1629155562,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1140894285?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-17 07:12","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Roblox bookings miss Wall St target as easing curbs hurt online games","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1140894285","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Roblox Corp's quarterly bookings missed market expectations on Monday, as easing restrictions slowed","content":"
Roblox Corp's quarterly bookings missed market expectations on Monday, as easing restrictions slowed the pandemic-fueled surge in spending for its games including \"Jailbreak\" and \"MeepCity\", sending its shares down 4.7%.
\n

\n
The company, one of the world's most popular gaming sites for children, is a pandemic winner that had benefited from stay-at-home orders.
\n
But with school reopening following the rollout of vaccines in the United States, online games lagged as kids are now encouraged to return to outdoor activities.
\n
The company's bookings rose just 35% to $665.5 million for the second quarter ended June 30 compared to a 161% surge in bookings during the previous quarter. shape","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1133953426","media":"Reuters","summary":"Nokia’s new strategy showed early signs of bearing fruit on Thursday, with higher first-quarter sale","content":"
Nokia’s new strategy showed early signs of bearing fruit on Thursday, with higher first-quarter sales of network and 5G equipment sending its shares soaring as much as 16%.
\n
Finland’s Nokia and Swedish rival Ericsson have been winning customers as telecom operators start rolling out 5G networks and China’s Huawei faces curbs from a growing number of governments over security concerns.
\n
“This year we are seeing great demand in 5G and also in what we call network infrastructure which is basically fiber connections to homes and offices,” Chief Executive Pekka Lundmark said in an interview.
\n
After taking the top job last year, Lundmark has streamlined Nokia’s operation, cut jobs, and made changes to recover from product missteps under previous management that hit the company’s 5G ambitions and share price.
\n
Quarterly revenue rose 3% to 5.08 billion euros ($6.16 billion), beating analysts’ consensus forecast of 4.72 billion, according to IBES data from Refinitiv.
\n
Network infrastructure sales, which include optical and fixed network products, jumped 28% to 1.73 billion euros.
\n
“These are a solid set of results and a good start to the year for Nokia,” said Richard Webb, an analyst at CCS Insight. “In particular the operating margin of 11% looks healthy and shows that the restructuring is having some positive impact.”
\n
At 1345 GMT, Nokia shares were up 13.7% at 4.057 euros, after trading as high as 4.1435 euros.
\n
LESS SEASONALITY
\n
“We expect our typical quarterly earnings seasonality to be less pronounced in 2021,” Lundmark said.
\n
The demand for infrastructure, boosted by the pandemic, is now spread out through the year, easing seasonality, which previously resulted in outsized growth in the fourth quarter.
\n
Growth in the second half of year will take a hit from one North American customer, the company said. Last year, Nokia lost a part of a contract with Verizon after Samsung unexpectedlyherelanded a $6 billion deal.
\n
“We are able to mitigate a lot of the impact of North American market share, but this is not something that will happen in one or two quarters,” Lundmark said on a conference call.
\n
Quarterly profit rose to 5 euro cents per share while adjusted profit was 7 euro cents per share. Analysts had expected an adjusted profit of 1 euro cent.
\n
“This was supposed to be the bad year, but now it got off to a good start ... the market clearly now believes in Nokia’s goals more than before and maybe even sees them as somewhat conservative because the Q1 was so strong,” said OP Markets analyst Kimmo Stenvall.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; But two stocks he sold showed 2020's losers are among 2021's winners.","content":"
Famed investor Warren Buffett is known for holding S&P 500 stocks forever. But two stocks he didn't follow his own advice on highlighted a major trend in this year's market: 2020's losers are among 2021's winners so far.
\n
Buffett unloaded Berkshire Hathaway's shares of energy firm Occidental Petroleum and industrial United Airlines in the harrowing second quarter of 2020. And yet, both have powered higher in 2021's value-driven market. And not by just a little. Occidental is the S&P 500's fourth-best stock this year, up 77%. And United is up more than 30%, putting it in the index's top quintile.
\n
It's easy to see why Buffett sold. Occidental was the worst stock in the S&P 500 in 2020. Plunging oil prices in 2020 sent shares of Occidental down 77% in 2020. And United Airlines lost half its value in 2020, making it the fifth worst stock in the S&P 500.
\n
But in the value-stock led rally of 2021, where last year's worst stocks are soaring, both these stocks are coming alive for investors looking at the right indicators now.
\n
The S&P 500 Turns Upside Down
\n
Buffett is feeling the S&P 500's major flip-flop in the wallet. The index's worst stocks are turning into the best ones so far in 2021. The numbers are staggering.
\n
All 50 of the worst S&P 500 stocks in 2020 are up this year so far, says an Investor's Business Daily analysis of data from S&P Global Market Intelligence and MarketSmith. And not by a little. The worst S&P 500 stocks of 2020 are now up an average 33% in 2021 so far. That blows away the S&P 500's 5% gain this year. And the bottom 10 S&P 500 stocks of 2020 are doing even better: up 44.8% this year. Most are energy stocks.
\n
Some of the bounces are remarkable. Take Occidental. Shares are up more than 76.9% this year already to 30.63. That must sting Buffett a little. Shares got down to 18.30 apiece at the end of the second quarter, the period in which Buffett unloaded his nearly 19 million shares. The stock dropped in half from the start of 2020 until the end of the quarter Buffett finally sold.
\n
But those shares are worth $233 million more now. Occidental now has an IBD Relative Strength rating of 88. That means the stock is outperforming 88% of all others.
\n
And then there's United Airlines, a favorite stock with millennial investors. Shares plummeted in 2020, dropping to 34.61 in the second quarter of 2020 during which Buffett unloaded his entire stake. But the airline stock is now up 30% this year. That makes the 22.1 million shares Buffett sold worth $480 million more.
\n
Role Reversal Flips The S&P 500
\n
There's no denying the pandemic and following economic shutdown caused this flip in the market's winners. Cruise line operators in the S&P 500, which Buffett doesn't own, show the point.
\n
Carnival tanked 57% in 2020 to 21.66 a share as bookings dropped off. It was the second worst stock in the S&P 500 in 2020. But shares rallied 31.4% this year to 28.46, making it the 54th best S&P 500 stock this year. Carnival's IBD Relative Strength is now 69. And then there's Norwegian Cruise Line. The stock plunged 57% in 2020, but this year? It's up 21% and sports a Relative Strength of 80. Do you know if you should buy Carnival stock now?
\n
Don't feel too bad for Buffett. Shares of Berkshire Hathaway are up 13.5% this year as many of his other value investments like railroads and financials pay off. But he's not getting much comfort from his largest public holding. Apple, which is nearly half his portfolio, is down 9% this year.
\n
Savvy investors know it's wise to cut losses before they swell more than 8% of your purchase price. But they also know to read what the S&P 500 is telling then. And right now, it's saying last year's worst are this year's best.
\n
The Worst S&P 500 Stocks Of 2020 Are Soaring
\n
\n
\n
\n
Company
\n
Symbol
\n
2020 % Stock Ch.
\n
% Ch.
\n
% Ch.
