the evening of March 12, 2023, U.S. time, the U.S. Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation jointly issued a statement:

1. Allow the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to complete the inspection in a way that fully protects all depositorsSilicon Valley BankThe liquidation of. Depositors will receive their full funds starting March 13, and the liquidation of Silicon Valley Bank will not cost taxpayers any losses. The same applies to New York City, which is closing todaySignature Bank。 2. Correspondingly, shareholders and some unsecured owners cannot be protected, and senior managers have been dismissed. 3. The Federal Reserve announced that it will provide additional funds to eligible depository institutions. The Federal Reserve will create a new Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP) to provide loans for up to one year to depository institutions such as banks, savings associations, credit unions and foreign bank branches in the United States. 4. The Ministry of Finance will provide up to US $25 billion from the Foreign Exchange Stabilization Fund to support BTFP.1. The U.S. Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation jointly took action to protect Silicon Valley Bank depositors and curb the escalation of the crisis

TargetingBank of AmericaRisk events, U.S. response measures: 1) The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) released the Deposit Insurance Fund (DIF) to cover depositors; 2) Launched the Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP) to provide liquidity support for banks. In the short term, the two measures may be more effective in solving the emerging run on U.S. banks, while easing market sentiment.

Specifically:

1) For banks that have been under custody, in addition to selling their assets to raise funds, the remaining funding gap will be filled through the FDIC's Deposit Insurance Fund (DIF) to ensure the assets of depositors. At the end of 2022, the FDIC had a total of $128.8 billion in premiums.

But it also brings certain risks. If the FDIC needs to obtain more premium income in the future, it may prompt the banking system to reserve more cash and its equivalents, and banks will face hidden liquidity problems in the medium term.

For example, there are three supplementary channels for DIF premiums. The first is to collect a one-time special premium, the second is to collect premiums in advance, and the third is to borrow money from the Ministry of Finance. In June 2009, the FDIC collected special premiums totaling US $5.5 billion, which put some pressure on the liquidity of the overall banking industry; In December 2009, the FDIC collected advance premiums totaling $4.57 billion, further limiting the credit capacity of banks in crisis situations.

2) The Federal Reserve's newly launched Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP) injects liquidity into banks' reserve accounts through collateral discounts of high-quality securities. The collateral is mainly assets such as U.S. debt, institutional debt and mortgage-backed securities; And the mortgage value of these assets will be calculated at face value, with an interest rate of OIS + 10bp; There is no upper limit for use by a single institution, and institutions are allowed to repay in advance. This means that borrowing from BTFP can obtain more cash liquidity than the Discount Window and the Standing Repo Facility.

BTFP easing during the current period of tightening financial conditions and increased liquidity pressuresFinancial institutionPressure to sell these high-quality securities at a discount in the market to recover liquidity. At the same time, the asset side of the Federal Reserve receives mortgaged securities, and the liability side increases the reserves of banks and other financial institutions, and the entire balance sheet will expand slightly again.

2. More than one cockroach in the kitchen: the United States is facing an entire banking crisis and a liquidity crisis

Silicon Valley Bank, Signature Bank, andFirst Republic BankContinuous thunderstorms. This is only the tip of the iceberg of risks in the US banking industry. The Federal Reserve is facing the whole banking crisis and liquidity crisis.

The Fed has helicoptered money for the past two years. In March 2020, the Federal Reserve launched an unlimited quantitative easing, and then promised to maintain zero interest rates for a long time. As of March 2022, when the Federal Reserve declared a rate hike, its balance sheet had grown by 110% cumulatively, reaching a peak of 9 trillion. Among them, reserves, general accounts of the Ministry of Finance and overnight reverse repurchase, which measures remaining liquidity, increased by 135%, 57% and 712% respectively.

Banks are buying a large amount of American Treasury Bond in an environment of excess liquidity. In the environment of global flood release in 2020, the demand for bank loans is weak, and bank funds have nowhere to go. Between the fourth quarter of 2019 and the fourth quarter of 2022, deposits in the U.S. banking sector increased by more than $5 trillion, of which only 14% was used for loans. Meanwhile, overnight reverse repurchase accounts, money market funds and T-Bills have lower yields. Cash deposited in the Fed's overnight reverse repurchase account can only obtain an annualized return of about 5bp-15bp, and money market funds and T-Bills can only obtain an annualized return of less than 20bp. As of March 15, 2022, before the Federal Reserve announced the rate hike, U.S. commercial banks held approximately US $4.6 trillion in Treasury Bond, an increase of 53% from before the quantitative easing began.

In March 2022, the Federal Reserve launched an aggressive rate hike, with bank assets shrinking and liability-side savings flowing out, falling into tight liquidity. As of March 2023, the Federal Reserve has accumulated 450 basis points of rate hike, causing a rapid surge in U.S. bond yields. The prices of U.S. bond assets that were previously purchased in large quantities under the background of loose liquidity fell sharply, and U.S. Treasury Bond classified as assets for sale (AFS) began to experience floating losses. According to FDIC data, as of the fourth quarter of 2022, unrealized losses in the U.S. banking system were approximately US $620 billion, of which saleable Treasury Bond and securities were approximately US $279.5 billion.

Judging from the tools and solutions currently announced by the Federal Reserve, they only play a role in supporting the bank's assets, but have not effectively suppressed the risk of savings outflows on the liability side.

Whether the Fed needs to clean up all battlefields and prevent the financial crisis depends on whether the Fed can respond in time, stop the chain of infection, and gain market trust.

3. The Federal Reserve claims that taxpayers don't have to burden it. Who pays the bill?

U.S. Treasury Secretary Yellen said that \"taxpayers will not bear any losses in the liquidation of Silicon Valley Bank.\" This is indeed the case on the surface: neither the FDIC premium income to bail out the custodian bank nor the BTFP to supplement liquidity directly comes from government spending.

The fact is, most of all debt restructuring is debt monetization, which is ultimately borne by over-issuing currency and diluting taxpayers.

Historical experience shows that the process of debt restructuring and disposal of custodian banks such as Silicon Valley Bank often requires monetization, that is, obtaining additional capital provided by the Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve, and the FDIC. It is an act of over-issuing currency in disguised form.

Excessive currency issuance brings high inflation and dilutes residents' purchasing power. At the same time, in order to curb high inflation, the U.S. rate hike has brought about a strong dollar cycle, and the world has paid the bill.

Since the epidemic, the Federal Reserve's balance sheet has nearly tripled, reaching a maximum of over 9 trillion US dollars, leading to high inflation, aggressive rate hike, and a strong dollar cycle in the United States. High inflation has severely damaged the purchasing power of the U.S. residential sector. At the same time, the United States is harvesting the global non-American economies and suppressing the economic growth momentum of non-American economies.

Behind this is the hegemony of the dollar. The U.S. economy accounts for about 22% of the world economy, and its trade volume accounts for about 13% of global trade. However, US dollar-denominated transactions account for 50%, US dollar foreign exchange reserves account for 60%, and US dollar-denominated cross-border credit accounts for 50%.

There are deep-seated problems with the hegemony of the US dollar, which imposes shackles on the United States itself and peripheral countries. It is difficult to shake in the short term, but it is difficult to maintain in the long term.Internally, under the mode of low savings and high consumption, the United States is deeply plagued by trade deficit and industrial hollowing out, with huge debt and fiscal deficit rising, and income gap widening. Externally, the United States controls the global cross-border payment system, frequently imposes financial sanctions, freezes assets, and uses its voting rights in international organizations to restrict the financing channels and conditions of other countries.Seigniorage is levied on the whole world, exporting inflation devalues debt, dilutes the accumulated foreign exchange reserves of various countries, and other economies are forced to bear imported inflation, debt depreciation and financial fluctuations.

The current thunderstorm of Silicon Valley Bank is a backlash to its financial industry and upstart capital, as well as the liquidation of the Federal Reserve's unlimited QE.

At present, China is on the path of recovery, and it has to be hard to strike while the iron is hot.

China's top priority is to develop its economy and strive for it. Development is the best foundation for risk prevention. If the economic recovery plan to expand domestic demand led by new infrastructure and new energy can be launched, it is expected to turn crises into opportunities, just like in 2009. Bank。 ,"news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"161125":0.9,"ESmain":0.9,"SPXU":0.9,"OEX":0.9,"IVV":0.9,"SIVB":0.9,"DJX":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"SPY":0.9,".DJI":0.9,"NQmain":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,"UDOW":0.9,"DOG":0.9,"DXD":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3010,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9949537675,"gmtCreate":1678747128397,"gmtModify":1678747132476,"author":{"id":"3571972374738086","authorId":"3571972374738086","name":"Than","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ffec423859ee144e45cbb36e9239a79a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3571972374738086","idStr":"3571972374738086"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9949537675","repostId":"1110580899","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1110580899","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"为用户提供金融资讯、行情、数据,旨在帮助投资者理解世界,做投资决策。","home_visible":1,"media_name":"老虎资讯综合","id":"102","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1678714241,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1110580899?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-03-13 Her stance is backed by investors at Bank of America, who overwhelmingly see stagflation on the horizon. The firm’s latest survey shows they’re historically underweight equities -- with tech-share positioning the lowest since 2006 -- and overweight cash. The pessimism contrasts with a bout of ebullience sparked by last week’s US inflation report suggesting prices pressures may be peaking. That’s intensifying the debate about whether the Fed has room to moderate the pace of interest-rate hikes. The latter was summarily dismissed by a parade of monetary officials this week. Among the most hawkish, St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said policy makers should increase interest rates to at least to 5%-5.25% to curb inflation. That came after San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly said a pause in hiking cycle was “off the table,” while Kansas City Fed President Esther George warned the Fed could find it increasingly difficult to tame inflation without causing a recession. As rate hikes spark bear markets in stocks and bonds, the Fed has gone from a friend in the bull times to a newfound foe. And no dovish policy pivot looks likely anytime soon. Citi, for one, is touting the idea of the “Powell Push,” with the Jerome Powell-led central bank forced into growth-sapping rate hikes on still-raging inflation ahead.“We classify the environment as stagflationary,” according to Citi strategist Alex Saunders. He recommends selling US equities and credit, and buying commodities and bonds in a Powell Push scenario.Invesco is also treading carefully, tilting exposure to defensive equities with overweight bets in Treasuries and US investment-grade credit.“A signal to become more ‘risk on’ would be signs the Fed is getting close to ‘pausing’ rate hikes,” said Kristina Hooper, chief global market strategist at Invesco.Even Morgan Stanley’s Andrew Sheets -- who holds a minority view that core inflation will fall to 2.9% by the end of 2023 -- isn’t ready to go all risk-on yet given the prospect of an economic slowdown. Still, he cites the mid-90s as a reason for optimism. Back then, an era marked by elevated inflation with interest rates soaring, equities and Treasuries eventually managed to pull off big gains.“Bears say soft landings are rare. But they happen,” Sheets wrote in his outlook for the next year.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1300,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9963253487,"gmtCreate":1668698199650,"gmtModify":1676538099169,"author":{"id":"3571972374738086","authorId":"3571972374738086","name":"Than","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ffec423859ee144e45cbb36e9239a79a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3571972374738086","idStr":"3571972374738086"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$阿里巴巴(BABA)$ ","listText":"$阿里巴巴(BABA)$ ","text":"$阿里巴巴(BABA)$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/0be4ea446221b3593ffe8a48b9b9e17c","width":"1125","height":"2356"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9963253487","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1484,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":408147264475368,"gmtCreate":1740633672884,"gmtModify":1740633674913,"author":{"id":"3571972374738086","authorId":"3571972374738086","name":"Than","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ffec423859ee144e45cbb36e9239a79a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571972374738086","authorIdStr":"3571972374738086"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$城市发展(C09.SI)$ ","listText":"$城市发展(C09.SI)$ ","text":"$城市发展(C09.SI)$","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/408147264475368","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2203,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9927556855,"gmtCreate":1672541526577,"gmtModify":1676538702936,"author":{"id":"3571972374738086","authorId":"3571972374738086","name":"Than","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ffec423859ee144e45cbb36e9239a79a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571972374738086","authorIdStr":"3571972374738086"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9927556855","repostId":"1104497166","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1104497166","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1672539183,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1104497166?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-01-01 10:13","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Li Auto Delivered 21,233 Vehicles in December 2022, Achieving Another Monthly Delivery Record","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1104497166","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Li Auto today announced that the Company delivered 21,233 vehicles in December 2022, achieving anoth","content":"

Li Auto today announced that the Company delivered 21,233 vehicles in December 2022, achieving another monthly delivery record and representing an increase of 50.7% year over year. Her stance is backed by investors at Bank of America, who overwhelmingly see stagflation on the horizon. But they happen,” Sheets wrote in his outlook for the next year.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".DJI":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1300,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9963253487,"gmtCreate":1668698199650,"gmtModify":1676538099169,"author":{"id":"3571972374738086","authorId":"3571972374738086","name":"Than","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ffec423859ee144e45cbb36e9239a79a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571972374738086","authorIdStr":"3571972374738086"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$阿里巴巴(BABA)$ ","listText":"$阿里巴巴(BABA)$ ","text":"$阿里巴巴(BABA)$","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/0be4ea446221b3593ffe8a48b9b9e17c","width":"1125","height":"2356"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9963253487","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1484,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9941851133,"gmtCreate":1680148741723,"gmtModify":1680148743680,"author":{"id":"3571972374738086","authorId":"3571972374738086","name":"Than","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ffec423859ee144e45cbb36e9239a79a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571972374738086","authorIdStr":"3571972374738086"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9941851133","repostId":"2323975182","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2323975182","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1680145440,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2323975182?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-03-30 11:04","market":"hk","language":"zh","title":"Alibaba Health (00241) share price fell 8.082%, current price HK $5.8","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2323975182","media":"阿斯达克财经","summary":"[下跌股]阿里健康(00241) 股价在上午11:04比前收市价下跌8.082%,现股价为港币$5.8。至目前为止,今日最高价为$6.39,而最低价为$5.8。总成交量为5.659千万股,总成交金额为港币$3.4亿。","content":"

[Falling stocks] The stock price of Alibaba Health (00241) fell 8.082% from the previous closing price at 11:04 am, and the current stock price is HK $5.8.

3. Bank。 ,"news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"161125":0.9,"ESmain":0.9,"SPXU":0.9,"OEX":0.9,"IVV":0.9,"SIVB":0.9,"DJX":0.9,".SPX":0.9,"SPY":0.9,".DJI":0.9,"NQmain":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,"UDOW":0.9,"DOG":0.9,"DXD":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3010,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9949537675,"gmtCreate":1678747128397,"gmtModify":1678747132476,"author":{"id":"3571972374738086","authorId":"3571972374738086","name":"Than","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ffec423859ee144e45cbb36e9239a79a","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3571972374738086","authorIdStr":"3571972374738086"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9949537675","repostId":"1110580899","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1110580899","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"为用户提供金融资讯、行情、数据,旨在帮助投资者理解世界,做投资决策。","home_visible":1,"media_name":"老虎资讯综合","id":"102","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1678714241,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1110580899?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-03-13
