While the market has seen short squeezes occur in the past, GameStop’s was fueled by an internet community looking tostick it to hedge funds. All the more interesting, GameStop’s backers have been relentlessly holding their positions, some with tempting amounts of profit. Regardless, I personally believe GameStop is not poised well for the current market conditions looming and ahead. Rising interest rates, high inflation, and overall economic turmoil likely won’t bode well for this meme stock. I covered GameStop back in May using technical analysis, predicting the stock was headed down. However, GameStop didn't have the stiff macro headwinds that it's facing now. This article will cover the additional catalysts weighing on GameStop stock, and why I believe the stock isn't far from trading at penny stock price levels.

Interest rates, inflation, and a struggling economy:

Interest rates have already hit the broader market quite substantially. The federal funds rate has jumped from a target rate of 0% - 0.25% to 3% - 3.25% in an effort to counter 40-year high inflation levels. As a result, the Dow Jones is down roughly 20% from previous market highs. GameStop hasn’t had a great year by any measure; however, the stock is only down roughly 10% from its candle close this January around the $27 price level.

It’s worth noting the Fed is planning to hike rates upwards of 4.75% by the end of 2022, with plans to reach the 5% early in 2023. The idea is that higher rates will reduce consumer spending, in turn reducing the demand and price of consumer goods (inflation). However, inflation levels are still north of 8%, even as rates continue to rise. The inflation crisis in the current market is more severe than I think a lot of people realize. Covid-fueled stimulus and quantitative easing flooded capital into the markets while the Fed kept rates on the floor as the market was flourishing. This flooded the market with capital and access to very cheap borrowed capital, resulting in massive consumer spending. This spending created high demand and high prices. Furthermore, the market was hit with global supply chain disruptions, exacerbating price hikes. Next thing we know, stimulus checks have been spent and the Fed starts hiking rates rapidly. This is where the economic turmoil comes in, as consumers are struggling on the capital front while the cost of consumer goods have skyrocketed.

This is all terrible for those long on GameStop. To start, GameStop sells consumer goods, which are now highly priced and less frequently bought. This is particularly alarming considering GameStop’s goods would be considered more of a luxury item (gaming and entertainment). The GameStop bulls will tell you sweet tales of GameStop’s emergence in the Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) market, however, I wouldn’t be sold too quickly. There are numerous big players in the NFT market, and sources reflect NFT prices have dropped between 70% and 92% since March of this year. If GameStop’s business model wasn’t bad enough for you as is, the company’s saving grace lies in a market where prices are down upwards of 90%. Keep in mind, NFTs are considered to be far more volatile than the likes of the Crypto market’s best projects like Bitcoin and Ethereum. It’s worth noting both Bitcoin and Ethereum are down roughly 72% from all-time highs.

In short, GameStop is operating a dying business model to begin with. That business model gets even worse when factoring in the economic turmoil that is currently plaguing consumers and businesses. The company’s transition to a market that is down 70% across the board really shouldn’t provide much optimism either. Aside from the meme soldiers with an undying ambition to stick it to hedge funds, GameStop is simply dead money.

A quick look at GameStop’s financial instability:

GameStop’s books reflect a dying business after it has been given the financial equivalent of a heart, brain, and lung transplant. The company is still operating at a loss, with its trailing twelve-month (TTM) net income sitting at ($519.50) million. To better emphasize that statement, TTM free cash flow sits at ($876.40) million. GameStop was actually free cash flow positive on a TTM basis for the quarter ending in April of 2021 with $86.10 million. The company’s free cash flow has dropped over 1,000% since its short squeeze. GameStop’s price to book is sitting just north of 5.6, indicating GameStop bulls are willing to pay nearly six times the value of shareholder’s equity for a stock that is exponentially losing more money each quarter. In short, there is simply no indication that GameStop is doing anything successful on a business front. Sure, I understand wanting to stick it to hedge funds; however, how long can this game be played? This stock is providing more risk to the retail investors backing it than any institutional hedge fund abroad.

My prediction for GameStop (technical analysis):

I’m going to provide my technical analysis prediction for GameStop moving forward. I don’t like to use technical analysis for common stocks, however, considering GameStop trades against all fundamentals, I will do so here.

GameStop Support Levels (tradingview.com)

GameStop has formed a massive descending triangle pattern since reaching its all-time high in January of 2021. More importantly, in my opinion, is how GameStop continues break critical levels of support, with the most critical level approaching. Should GameStop break below the $19.83 level, there are only two more levels—$10 and $5—before the stock will be headed to price levels under $1. Considering the current state of the economy and GameStop’s inability to achieve any financial success, I believe the stock is on its last legs.

While many of GameStop bulls want to hold out as long as possible, I do believe the temptation to take potential profits will overpower the will to stick it to hedge funds. Especially, when considering many GameStop bulls may need to sell positions to help their own financial positions amid economic uncertainty. Sadly, I believe many positions in GameStop are at a loss and held with hopes of another short squeeze. Most of success stories heard with GameStop are of traders that SOLD their positions for massive gains. The ideology of ‘diamond hands’ appears to be harming those with either minor gains and/or now losses.

There is far more against GameStop stock than just hedge funds: Economic turmoil, market psychology, and the basic fundamentals of finance. GameStop has been trending one direction (down) since its massive price spike last year, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change any time soon. In fact, GameStop’s decline began well before it was facing a slew of headwinds with inflation, interest rate hikes, and a struggling economy. All indications point to GameStop being on a fast track to the penny stock label. I believe the economy and broader market will be facing headwinds well into 2023. That said, I believe that GameStop will fall to price levels below $10 in the next year.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, I don’t see the GameStop charade lasting much longer. The investors that succeeded knew the nature of a short squeeze and made massive profits. Many others appear to be living on a prayer. A short squeeze can only go so far, and GameStop’s was substantial. The hope of a $10,000 per share of GameStop was simply unrealistic. Reddit’s meme army did stick it to the hedge funds; many of them were forced to close shorts and realized massive losses. Current short interest is less than 20% of shares outstanding currently. When the squeeze occurred, short interest was over 100% of shares outstanding. GameStop is facing significant headwinds with no optimism in sight. I believe GameStop is headed towards price levels below $5 per share (penny stock price range) and rate it a sell.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
GameStop: This Meme Stock Could Be On Its Way To Penny Stock Price Levels
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nGameStop: This Meme Stock Could Be On Its Way To Penny Stock Price Levels\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-10-12 11:46 GMT+8 Seeking Alpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
SummaryGameStop is now facing inflation, interest rate hikes, and economic turmoil.GameStop's financial performance continues to progressively decline.Based on technical analysis, GameStop is a hop, ...
\n\nSource Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"GME":"游戏驿站"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4545962-gamestop-meme-stock-to-penny-stock","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1141898018","content_text":"SummaryGameStop is now facing inflation, interest rate hikes, and economic turmoil.GameStop's financial performance continues to progressively decline.Based on technical analysis, GameStop is a hop, skip, and a jump away from being a penny stock.ChunumunuThesis:GameStop (NYSE:GME) took the investing world for a run with its epic short squeeze in January of 2021. That said, I believe that GameStop will fall to price levels below $10 in the next year. Conclusion:In conclusion, I don’t see the GameStop charade lasting much longer. I believe GameStop is headed towards price levels below $5 per share (penny stock price range) and rate it a sell.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2379,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9931524547,"gmtCreate":1662496789489,"gmtModify":1676537071107,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"\"Dearh caused by blunt force trauma with a bullet behind the head\"","listText":"\"Dearh caused by blunt force trauma with a bullet behind the head\"","text":"\"Dearh caused by blunt force trauma with a bullet behind the head\"","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9931524547","repostId":"2265034421","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2265034421","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1662430766,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2265034421?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-09-06 10:19","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Bed Bath & Beyond CFO's Death Ruled a Suicide","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2265034421","media":"Reuters","summary":"Sept 5 (Reuters) - The death of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc's chief financial officer, who fell from New Y","content":"

Sept 5 (Reuters) - The death of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc's chief financial officer, who fell from New York's Tribeca skyscraper known as the "Jenga" tower on Friday afternoon, has been ruled a suicide, the New York City Medical Examiner's Office said on Monday.

Gustavo Arnal, 52, died from "multiple" blunt force trauma, the office said.

The suicide came days after the struggling retailer announced it was closing stores and laying off workers.

It also comes after Arnal as well as the company were sued on Aug. 23 over accusations of artificially inflating the firm's stock price in a "pump and dump" scheme, with the lawsuit alleging Arnal sold off his shares at a higher price after the scheme.

The company said it was "in the early stages of evaluating the complaint, but based on current knowledge the company believes the claims are without merit."

Arnal joined Bed Bath & Beyond in 2020. This uncertainty stems from the federal interest rate hikes, inflation, and a potential recession -- all of which are causing investors to pull out of the market in droves. However, this is a mistake. Bear markets aren't uncommon; they occur once every three and a half years. Also, stocks tend to have some of their strongest performing days during recovery periods. Because of this, wise investors should be looking for great values to pick up during a market panic.I've got a list of five great buys that are due for a strong recovery when the bear market eventually ends. Investing $5,000 across these top-tier stocks, all of which are trading at comparatively low valuations, could be genius moves that you're sure to thank yourself for later.1. AlphabetAlphabet is the parent company of Google and YouTube, among others. It primarily generates revenue through advertisements across its platforms; however, advertisement spending tends to drop during recessions. As a result of this thinking, the stock has been sold off to an all-time low valuation. While Alphabet may see short-term headwinds, the long-term dominance of this business is undeniable. It's a free-cash-flow printing machine, generating $15 billion in the first quarter alone. With nearly $134 billion in cash on its balance sheet, Alphabet is built to weather any recession the economy throws at it.Another hidden benefit here lies in Alphabet's $70 billion stock buyback plan. This program will reduce the number of shares outstanding, which will make each share more valuable when the stock rises from its rock-bottom prices.2. NvidiaNvidia makes graphics process units (GPUs) that can be utilized for various tasks. Its biggest recent driver has been its data center division, which surpassed its gaming segment for the first time this quarter. In Q1 (ended May 1) of the 2023 fiscal year, Nvidia's data center division grew 83% year over year (YOY) to $3.75 billion, whereas gaming increased 31% YOY to $3.62 billion. With more businesses and consumer technologies moving to the cloud, Nvidia's data center will only continue to increase. In its recent conference call, analysts asked whether management was worried about its data center growth in regard the economic headwinds, to which CEO and founder Jensen Huang replied, \"Our data center demand is strong and remains strong.\"GPUs have become integrated with nearly every graphics or computing-related scenario, and Nvidia benefits significantly from that. With the stock trading for 44 times earnings, it's a solid value for a company that has consistently grown its revenue quarter after quarter and that was trading at a P/E ratio of over 100 late last year.3. AirbnbPeople were stuck inside their homes for two years and couldn't (or didn't want to) travel. Now people are traveling again, and companies like Airbnb (ABNB 8.14%) stand to benefit. In its Q1 results, revenue rose 70% YOY and is now up 80% over 2019's pre-pandemic numbers. This quarter was a record-setting one for Airbnb, and the future looks just as bright.Airbnb recently revamped its platform and now has many more options than the standard \"choose a location and date\" search function that travel websites have used for years. Now, customers can book multiple stays in one trip, investigate unique travel experiences, and utilize travel insurance.Airbnb estimates it will see a similar growth rate in Q2 as it did in Q1 and anticipates stronger-than-average demand for Q3 and Q4. Of course, this sentiment could shift if consumers decide to save money instead of traveling, but the long-term move to Airbnb away from standard hotel stays is quite evident.4. MercadoLibreIn Latin America, e-commerce is growing rapidly thanks to $MercadoLibre(MELI). Through the company's vast suite of offerings, Latin American residents can enjoy two-day shipping in many locations, digital payments, access to credit cards, and a large e-commerce marketplace.MercadoLibre trades for under four times sales. The last time it was this low? How about never. MercadoLibre didn't even trade this cheaply at the height of the Great Recession. This stock is an unbelievable value right now, and investors should be snatching up every share they can get.5. CrowdStrikeLast but not least is cybersecurity provider CrowdStrike. The previous four companies are affected by consumer strength, but not CrowdStrike. This company provides endpoint protection to devices that access a company's network, like laptops or phones. It uses a cloud-first approach that makes it data-rich and easy to integrate.Cybersecurity is an expense companies can't live without, and one many companies are behind in adopting. This necessity plays into CrowdStrike's favor regardless of economic conditions. The company also happens to be growing like a weed. Q1 commerce revenues rose 44% YOY to $1.3 billion and fintech revenues were up 113% to $971 million. However, as the U.S. economy slows down, international markets are likely to also be affected. Second-quarter results will reveal the strength of the Latin American consumer, but until then, investors need to check out how low this stock is valued. In FY 2023 Q1 (ending April 30), CrowdStrike reported annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth of 61% to $1.9 billion and converted 32% of its revenue into free cash flow. It also reiterated strong guidance for the rest of the year, with revenue expected to increase 52% over last year's total. The cybersecurity industry has massive tailwinds blowing in its favor, and CrowdStrike is in a prime position to capture market share regardless of economic conditions. The common theme with these five companies is that the stocks are down big right now, but if you examine them with a three- to five-year holding mindset, the returns can be immense.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"MELI":0.9,"NVDA":0.9,"GOOG":0.9,"ABNB":0.9,"CRWD":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3571,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9041555375,"gmtCreate":1656078970497,"gmtModify":1676535763681,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"It's fun to hodl and no cell no sell baby!","listText":"It's fun to hodl and no cell no sell baby!","text":"It's fun to hodl and no cell no sell baby!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9041555375","repostId":"1151227339","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1151227339","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1656069101,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1151227339?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-06-24 19:11","market":"us","language":"en","title":"It’s Not All Fun and Games Anymore With GameStop Stock","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1151227339","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"GME stock is a great trading vehicle and a poor investment","content":"
\n
GameStop (NYSE:GME) has seen wild fluctuations in its stock price over the past year.Surprisingly, GME stock has traded pretty well over the past few months. There’s still “meme money” in this stock, ...
\n\nSource Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Despite this fact, GameStop(NYSE:GME) has not only avoided making a new 2022 low since March, but GME stock is actuallyhigherby 78% from its March low. What in the world is going on?Despite the recent performance, it’s my opinion that GameStop is not investable. The share price is far too volatile and the business does not seem worth the valuation that the stock commands today. Then again, the fact that Wall Street is still valuing GameStop with a $10.5 billion market capitalization in a bear market is both surprising and impressive. As it pertains to an investor though, we need to think about future returns and the quality of assets. In that sense, I think there are many other better names available right now than GME stock.“Meme Money” Still in GME StockWhile I do not believe that GameStop is a worthy investment, GME stock remains an excellent trading vehicle. Shares trade in a wide range, potentially allowing you to capture giant rewards. The volatility that hurts investors is what rewards traders — provided that they can correctly time some of these moves. Looking at the chart, the levels are magnificently clear. In March, GME stock bottomed around $78. Shares then more than doubled in just over two weeks as they ran to nearly $200. On the ensuing decline, GME stock narrowly avoided breaking the low, and shares eventually made their way back to over $100. Amid the current rally, the 61.8% retracement and the declining 200-day moving average have been resistance.Let’s not forget that GameStop currently sports a peak-to-trough decline of 70%. That’s not unlike some of the declines we’ve seen in growth stocks at this point. In any regard, the upside has been limited around the $150 area. If GME stock can clear this zone — as well as the 61.8% retracement and the 200-day moving average — bulls’ attention should shift to the $173 to $177 zone. There we find the 161.8% extension of the current range and the 78.6% retracement of the larger range. It’s a reasonable area to trim some exposure for those who are trading GameStop. Above that opens the door to the $200 area.On the downside, $115 is key. A break below that puts $100 in play, followed by the $78 to $80 zone. The Fun Is Over With GME StockAt the height of the Reddit WallStreetBets spectacle, GameStop commanded a market cap of $24 billion. For an unprofitable retailer that did $6 billion in sales for its most recent fiscal year, that’s a silly valuation.GameStop is piling into trending products as a way to save its business, including NFTs, blockchain, digital wallets and cryptocurrencies — all the hot buzzwords of the last bull market. On the plus side, the company does have Ryan Cohen as its chairman, who is a co-founder and former CEO of Chewy (NYSE:CHWY). If Cohen can make GameStop the online video game marketplace — essentially the Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) of video games — then the company and GME stock have a chance at a long life. Otherwise, investors are paying a heaping premium for what is effectively a struggling retailer.Analysts expect 7% revenue growth this year to $6.45 billion, but for GameStop to lose $5.37 a share. That’s after losing $4.56 a share last year. And forecasts call for it to lose another $4.10 a share next year. From a cash flow perspective, the retailer burned $500 million in fiscal 2022 and has a trailing free cash flow deficit of roughly $720 million. Simply put, the business is not attractive here.Better Investments Available Than GME StockIf investors want to be in retail, why not Amazon, Target (NYSE:TGT), Costco (NASDAQ:COST) or Home Depot (NYSE:HD)?If they want to be in gaming and/or tech stocks, why not Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD), Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) orone of these stocks unaffected by inflationand macro headwinds?Trading GME stock is certainly one thing — it is good for that — but from an investment perspectivein a bear market, I see many other more compelling businesses on sale.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2637,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9049211404,"gmtCreate":1655798805108,"gmtModify":1676535707487,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Let them bleed. Alongside stocks, the crypto and non-fungible token (NFT) markets have cratered, too. Yet this latest market meltdown has only had a moderate impact on GameStop (NYSE:GME) stock. What gives? The long side has seemingly regained the upper hand. They bid up the stock post-earnings, despite mixed results. This has squeezed the crowded short-side. As a result, the meme stock king, while knocked lower a bit by the June 13 and June 16 broad market sell-offs, has held onto most of its May relief rally gains. With this, you may think shares in the video game retailer are unsinkable. Although not anywhere near their meme stock highs, it could appear that it’s at little risk of falling to a price more in line with its underlying value. However, you may not want to jump to that conclusion.GME Stock and its Oddly Resilient Recent PerformanceBriefly falling down to double-digit prices during the May market selloff, since then GameStop has climbed back to prices north of $100 per share. It made its trek back to triple digits in late May, during that month’s relief rally. Then, after its June 1 quarterly earnings release, GME stock rallied again. Again, this came despite what were arguably mixed results. Revenue for its fiscal first quarter (ending April 30), were up modestly (up 7.9% year-over-year), but its net loss more than doubled compared to the prior year’s quarter. The company also loaded up heavily on inventory during the quarter. This could be a risky move at this stage of the economic cycle. If the economy continues to slow down, or perhaps officially enters recession territory, decreased customer demand could leave the video game retailer in the same boat as general retailers like Target (NYSE:TGT).Still, this didn’t stop the longs, whether they be retail meme traders, or perhaps more sophisticated market participants, from pouncing on it post-earnings. While the aforementioned big down days for stocks softened the blow for the shorts, GameStop shares are still up from where they were before the earnings report. Why This Resiliency May Not LastBased on its recent price performance, GME stock may seem immune from what bears (such as myself) believe is a much-needed de-rating. That is, as long as the long side continues to counter the short-side, the fact it trades for well-above its underlying value is irrelevant.Still, it may be premature to assume that this unconventional bull case for the stock is re-emerging. The days of it trading divorced from fundamentals may remain numbered. How so? Excitement from the long side could cool down, in two ways.First, some traders who dived into GME stock again as a squeeze play could decide to take profit. The fact that the recently overzealous short-side has backed off, as seen from the drop in short borrow rate safter their early June spike, could also affect its squeeze appeal.Second, traders could have also piled into the stock ahead of its planned stock split.Shareholders approved the split at the June 2 shareholder meeting. Enthusiasm for this catalyst may peak, assuming management officially announces a split date. This latest round of “meme stock madness” for GameStop could fade. In turn, resulting in shares resuming their slide lower, as fundamentals come back into focus.Bottom Line: Be Careful Chasing GameStopAdmittedly, ahead of earnings, I made the wrong call on GameStop.Instead of a lackluster earnings report pushing it lower, shares are up in spite of poor operating performance. Yet while this may underscore the risk of shorting this stock, going long is a risky move too.Excitement about it could again turn on a dime. Perhaps pretty soon, if its squeeze and split appeal fades. Not only that, it’s still hard to see the upside. That is, beyond the questionable chances of the “mother of all short-squeezes,” playing out.Its transition into primarily an e-commerce company appears fully priced-in. By the time its NFT marketplace and wallet service launch, NFTs could have by then gone the way of the pet rock. With many stocks now on sale, focusing on long-term opportunities appears more ideal than rolling the dice on GME stock. Be careful if you choose to do so.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2441,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9058976361,"gmtCreate":1654781681153,"gmtModify":1676535509761,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Let me help you rephrase:3 reasons to DRS all,1 share for sale after cell.","listText":"Let me help you rephrase:3 reasons to DRS all,1 share for sale after cell.","text":"Let me help you rephrase:3 reasons to DRS all,1 share for sale after cell.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9058976361","repostId":"2241892197","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2241892197","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1654766946,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2241892197?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-06-09 17:29","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Reasons to Buy GameStop, and 1 to Sell","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2241892197","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The retailer is undergoing a transformation to align with the digital future of gaming.","content":"
\n
Most arguments in favor of buying GameStop center around the power of its meme stock status. It remains one of the most discussed stocks online, and because meme stock prices are often driven by social media chatter rather than business fundamentals, its top-of-mind position with investors makes the stock appealing to many.Yet I still subscribe to the notion an investment needs to be based on something less transitory than whether a stock is popular on Reddit. Stocks remain the greatest wealth creation vehicle available, so buying and holding good companies for many years, decades even, is the best strategy for investing. And though I've been critical of GameStop, I do think a case can be made for the video game retailer to be a part of an investor's portfolio.Below are the three top reasons why I think GameStop can be a buy, and one big red flag for why you ought to sell.Buy reason No. 1: Brand valueSay what you want about GameStop surviving in an increasingly digital gaming world, but the video game shop is still synonymous with the gaming community and retains invaluable brand recognition. That became evident during the lockdown phase of the pandemic when gamers immediately turned to GameStop's website as a place to buy gaming gear, paraphernalia, and games themselves. Transitioning to a more online-oriented focus won't be smooth for a retailer still very much rooted in the brick-and-mortar world, but it's also immersing itself in the digital sphere.GameStop has said in financial filings, \"We are evolving from a video game retailer to a technology company that connects customers with games, entertainment, and a wide assortment of products,\" and that's why I think it's not just trying to become the Amazon of gaming, as Chairman Ryan Cohen notably declared but also the \"Best Buy of gaming.\"Buy reason No. 2: Embracing gaming's futureIts recent launch of a non-fungible token (NFT) wallet that will enable transactions on GameStop's coming NFT marketplace is an indication Cohen is fully intent on making GameStop the go-to destination for where gaming is heading.Blockchain gaming grew 2,000% last year to $4 billion, according to DappRadar and Blockchain Game Alliance. But in just the first quarter this year, spending in this space hit $2.5 billion.GameStop's marketplace could become an important destination for gamers to purchase items for the in-game worlds they're building. The GameStop Wallet is a \"self-custodial Ethereum wallet,\" meaning the funds are controlled by a user alone and can be accessed without leaving a web browser.Buy reason No. 3: A clean balance sheetGameStop's first-quarter report wasn't what many had hoped with wider-than-expected losses, though for a company transitioning to a future growth stock from a decaying business, it should probably be expected. A lot of investment still needs to go into infrastructure, capacity, technology, and personnel to make the transformation.Net sales increased 8% to just under $1.4 billion compared to approximately $1.3 billion last year, but sales are also well above the $1 billion it generated in the same period in 2019.GameStop smartly used its meme stock status to pay off virtually all of its debt and had just $42 million left at the end of the first quarter but $1.0 billion in cash, meaning GameStop actually has the financial wherewithal to achieve its goals. The No. 1 reason to sell: A weak business with an overvalued stockForget about GameStop's meme stock status, that it's splitting its stock, or even the theory that short-sellers and other dark, nefarious forces are plotting against the video game retailer to take it down.Other than the hints at what is to come like the NFT business, GameStop has been fairly tight-lipped about how it's going to achieve its transformational goals, which makes it difficult to assess its business.NPD Group says video game industry spending fell 8% in the first quarter with accessories down 16%, hardware falling 15%, and games off 7%. Even the console upgrade cycle may not be enough as supply-chain constraints are affecting availability, as reflected in the worse-than-expected losses when GameStop reported earnings last week. For a company trying to focus on the digital world, it must also grapple with consumer spending on mobile games declining 10% from last year.GameStop reported a loss in the holiday season, its biggest quarter of the year. For the first quarter, GameStop experienced a rapid increase in its cash burn rate as it developed the NFT wallet and marketplace. Yet there was no mention once again of how it hopes to ever make money or what competitive advantages it possesses to help it overcome the structural changes underway in its industry. That dispiriting outlook, juxtaposed against the video game retailer's still-elevated stock price, suggests GameStop remains wildly overvalued.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2292,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9064196615,"gmtCreate":1652286949237,"gmtModify":1676535069648,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I will sell all other holdings and assets, even sell my ass, to buy more GME before even thinking of selling GME.","listText":"I will sell all other holdings and assets, even sell my ass, to buy more GME before even thinking of selling GME.","text":"I will sell all other holdings and assets, even sell my ass, to buy more GME before even thinking of selling GME.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9064196615","repostId":"1177225763","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1177225763","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1652235865,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1177225763?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-11 10:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"This Could Be Your Last Chance to Sell GameStop","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1177225763","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"The market turmoil yesterday has been crazy and has shown no signs of abating. TheDow Industrial Index fell by around 2% while the S&P 500 was down 3.2%. Tech stocks were hit even harder with the Nasdaq down about 4.3%. So far this downtrend has continued until today. It is in this market environment that GameStop’s(NYSE:GME) stock has remained largely afloat. I know that may be a weird thing for me to say given the price action of GME stock. At the beginning of April, GME stock traded at a high close to $188. Yesterday, it broke down below the crucial psychological support of $100.However, GME stock rallied from a YTD low of $77.58. I believe that these lows can be tested once again. In other words, there is still more pain to come despite the roughly 40% month-on-month decline.Remember, the phenomenon of the GameStop rally was a purely liquidity-driven event. In the event of inflation, the Federal Reserve is now making moves to drain that liquidity from the system. According to a Blackrock analyst, “The Ukraine war, a global energy shock and the risk the Fed tries to fight the supply-driven inflation have sparked a reassessment of macro scenarios among market participants.”This means that the market will eventually need to reassess GameStop on a fundamental basis. In other words, looking at the business, assessing cash flows and all of the other boring stuff we seem to have forgotten how to do. In that case, GameStop isn’t faring that well.Videogame sales decreased year-over-year for the fifth straight month in March. Compared to the same time in 2021, overall sales were 15% lower. This trend could continue to accelerate as higher prices pinch consumers’ discretionary spending budgets.Remember that GME stock was trading at around $5 prior to 2021’s legendary short squeeze. Now that the liquidity is gone, there is no longer any reason for it to stay at these elevated levels.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2281,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9011312920,"gmtCreate":1648817775269,"gmtModify":1676534403760,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Lol, forcing shorts to close is not a fundamental impact with such high short interest? So when is the GameStop stock split date? And what will happen to GME stock once the split goes into effect?Today, investors learned this big news via a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. GameStop will follow in the footsteps of tech giants like Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG, NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Amazon in splitting its stock. Tesla also recently announced it intends to seek shareholder approval for a stock split.According to the filing, GameStop plans to seek shareholder approval to increase the amount of authorized Class A common stock from 300 million shares to 1 billion shares. It says that increasing the share count will allow it to enact a stock split in the form of a dividend payout. The company also said that it could use this share count increase to “provide flexibility for future corporate needs.”As CNBC reported, this could mean that GameStop plans to sell more stock, among other things. When Is the GameStop Stock Split Date?GameStop announced its plans for a stock split on March 31, 2022. Before the split can take effect, shareholders must vote to approve the proposal. This vote is set to take place during the upcoming annual meeting. The company has not yet announced the date and location for the annual meeting. GameStop also said the stock dividend must receive approval from its board of directors. For shareholders and meme stocks fans, there are unfortunately few details available at this time. However, GameStop said it will share more in the proxy statement that it issues ahead of the annual meeting. What Will Happen to GME Stock?Investors appear to like the news, sending GME stock up in after-hours trading. This could be due to speculation that meme stocks fans will be piling into GameStop in coming days.More broadly, investors tend to view stock splits as a way to make shares more accessible. By lowering the overall price of one share, new investors may be able to buy in. This has led companies like Alphabet and Amazon with high-priced shares to enact splits and widen their shareholder bases. GME shares are currently trading for more than $190 after the latest rally. Over the last two years, this share price has increased by more than 5,000%.Therefore, enacting a stock split and lowering the individual share price could entice more fans to become shareholders. However, investors should note that beyond changing the share price, a stock split will not have any other fundamental impacts on GameStop stock.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2796,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":869534930,"gmtCreate":1632301809320,"gmtModify":1676530747099,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Reditt This uncertainty stems from the federal interest rate hikes, inflation, and a potential recession -- all of which are causing investors to pull out of the market in droves. The common theme with these five companies is that the stocks are down big right now, but if you examine them with a three- to five-year holding mindset, the returns can be immense.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"MELI":0.9,"NVDA":0.9,"GOOG":0.9,"ABNB":0.9,"CRWD":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3571,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9079688829,"gmtCreate":1657191009361,"gmtModify":1676535966376,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Shorter that borrowed and short sold the shares is obligated to buy 4 shares of each short sold shares from the market to provide as dividend in place of gamestop to the party who bought that short sold shares.","listText":"Shorter that borrowed and short sold the shares is obligated to buy 4 shares of each short sold shares from the market to provide as dividend in place of gamestop to the party who bought that short sold shares.","text":"Shorter that borrowed and short sold the shares is obligated to buy 4 shares of each short sold shares from the market to provide as dividend in place of gamestop to the party who bought that short sold shares.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9079688829","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3185,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":150236660,"gmtCreate":1624903244350,"gmtModify":1703847604866,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wanna buy a rtx3080 at msrp so badly.....","listText":"Wanna buy a rtx3080 at msrp so badly.....","text":"Wanna buy a rtx3080 at msrp so badly.....","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/150236660","repostId":"1182036516","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1182036516","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1624892087,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1182036516?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-28 22:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nvidia shares rose more than 5% to a new high","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1182036516","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Nvidia shares rose more than 5% to a new high on Report Three Key Chip Makers Endorse Bid for Arm.\n\n","content":"
Nvidia shares rose more than 5% to a new high on Report Three Key Chip Makers Endorse Bid for Arm.
\n

\n
Three major chip makers have reportedly stepped up to say they support Nvidia‘s proposed acquisition of the U.K.-based chip-design house Arm.
\n
Last September, Nvidia (ticker: NVDA) announced a deal to acquire Arm from SoftBank Group(SFTBY) for $40 billion in cash and stock in a transaction that would make SoftBank the largest investor in Nvidia. Despite this fact, GameStop(NYSE:GME) has not only avoided making a new 2022 low since March, but GME stock is actuallyhigherby 78% from its March low. What in the world is going on?Despite the recent performance, it’s my opinion that GameStop is not investable. The share price is far too volatile and the business does not seem worth the valuation that the stock commands today. Then again, the fact that Wall Street is still valuing GameStop with a $10.5 billion market capitalization in a bear market is both surprising and impressive.As it pertains to an investor though, we need to think about future returns and the quality of assets. In that sense, I think there are many other better names available right now than GME stock.“Meme Money” Still in GME StockWhile I do not believe that GameStop is a worthy investment, GME stock remains an excellent trading vehicle. Shares trade in a wide range, potentially allowing you to capture giant rewards.The volatility that hurts investors is what rewards traders — provided that they can correctly time some of these moves. Looking at the chart, the levels are magnificently clear.In March, GME stock bottomed around $78. Shares then more than doubled in just over two weeks as they ran to nearly $200. On the ensuing decline, GME stock narrowly avoided breaking the low, and shares eventually made their way back to over $100. Amid the current rally, the 61.8% retracement and the declining 200-day moving average have been resistance.Let’s not forget that GameStop currently sports a peak-to-trough decline of 70%. That’s not unlike some of the declines we’ve seen in growth stocks at this point.In any regard, the upside has been limited around the $150 area. If GME stock can clear this zone — as well as the 61.8% retracement and the 200-day moving average — bulls’ attention should shift to the $173 to $177 zone. There we find the 161.8% extension of the current range and the 78.6% retracement of the larger range. It’s a reasonable area to trim some exposure for those who are trading GameStop. Above that opens the door to the $200 area.On the downside, $115 is key. A break below that puts $100 in play, followed by the $78 to $80 zone.The Fun Is Over With GME StockAt the height of the Reddit WallStreetBets spectacle, GameStop commanded a market cap of $24 billion. For an unprofitable retailer that did $6 billion in sales for its most recent fiscal year, that’s a silly valuation.GameStop is piling into trending products as a way to save its business, including NFTs, blockchain, digital wallets and cryptocurrencies — all the hot buzzwords of the last bull market.On the plus side, the company does have Ryan Cohen as its chairman, who is a co-founder and former CEO of Chewy (NYSE:CHWY). If Cohen can make GameStop the online video game marketplace — essentially the Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) of video games — then the company and GME stock have a chance at a long life. Otherwise, investors are paying a heaping premium for what is effectively a struggling retailer.Analysts expect 7% revenue growth this year to $6.45 billion, but for GameStop to lose $5.37 a share. That’s after losing $4.56 a share last year. And forecasts call for it to lose another $4.10 a share next year.From a cash flow perspective, the retailer burned $500 million in fiscal 2022 and has a trailing free cash flow deficit of roughly $720 million. Simply put, the business is not attractive here.Better Investments Available Than GME StockIf investors want to be in retail, why not Amazon, Target (NYSE:TGT), Costco (NASDAQ:COST) or Home Depot (NYSE:HD)?If they want to be in gaming and/or tech stocks, why not Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD), Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) orone of these stocks unaffected by inflationand macro headwinds?Trading GME stock is certainly one thing — it is good for that — but from an investment perspectivein a bear market, I see many other more compelling businesses on sale.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2637,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9011312920,"gmtCreate":1648817775269,"gmtModify":1676534403760,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Lol, forcing shorts to close is not a fundamental impact with such high short interest? So when is the GameStop stock split date? And what will happen to GME stock once the split goes into effect?Today, investors learned this big news via a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. GameStop will follow in the footsteps of tech giants like Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG, NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Amazon in splitting its stock. Tesla also recently announced it intends to seek shareholder approval for a stock split.According to the filing, GameStop plans to seek shareholder approval to increase the amount of authorized Class A common stock from 300 million shares to 1 billion shares. It says that increasing the share count will allow it to enact a stock split in the form of a dividend payout. The company also said that it could use this share count increase to “provide flexibility for future corporate needs.”As CNBC reported, this could mean that GameStop plans to sell more stock, among other things.When Is the GameStop Stock Split Date?GameStop announced its plans for a stock split on March 31, 2022. Before the split can take effect, shareholders must vote to approve the proposal. This vote is set to take place during the upcoming annual meeting. The company has not yet announced the date and location for the annual meeting. GameStop also said the stock dividend must receive approval from its board of directors.For shareholders and meme stocks fans, there are unfortunately few details available at this time. However, GameStop said it will share more in the proxy statement that it issues ahead of the annual meeting.What Will Happen to GME Stock?Investors appear to like the news, sending GME stock up in after-hours trading. This could be due to speculation that meme stocks fans will be piling into GameStop in coming days.More broadly, investors tend to view stock splits as a way to make shares more accessible. By lowering the overall price of one share, new investors may be able to buy in. This has led companies like Alphabet and Amazon with high-priced shares to enact splits and widen their shareholder bases. GME shares are currently trading for more than $190 after the latest rally. Over the last two years, this share price has increased by more than 5,000%.Therefore, enacting a stock split and lowering the individual share price could entice more fans to become shareholders.However, investors should note that beyond changing the share price, a stock split will not have any other fundamental impacts on GameStop stock.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2796,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":869534930,"gmtCreate":1632301809320,"gmtModify":1676530747099,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Reditt < Redtit","listText":"Reditt < Redtit","text":"Reditt < Redtit","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/869534930","repostId":"2169634902","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":948,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":153011572,"gmtCreate":1624984825396,"gmtModify":1703849600450,"author":{"id":"3573883093617050","authorId":"3573883093617050","name":"yBuyRestrict","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0bd70b0fe88754aed8f5ea87ae30a175","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573883093617050","idStr":"3573883093617050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gme with implied upside of ∞%.","listText":"Gme with implied upside of ∞%.","text":"Gme with implied upside of ∞%.","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/153011572","repostId":"2147343850","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":765,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
