In fact, Google search volume is now back down to where it was before the pandemic started in early 2020.\nIn addition, search volumes are now down 75% from their peak levels during the initial short squeezes in AMC and GameStop back in January 2021.\nColas said meme stocks like AMC need new retail stock traders to join in the buying to support their stock prices else they could be headed for more volatility like they have experienced this week.\n“Bubbles need fresh money, or they deflate. Quickly,” Colas wrote. “Every craze needs new adherents (i.e., not just the same crowd) to keep it relevant, and the Google chart shows those are in increasingly short supply.”\nPMP Weighs In:Benzinga PreMarket Prep co-host Dennis Dick said a good story can carry a stock a long way, and some stocks can even become so hot that they become temporarily disconnected from the company’s underlying fundamentals.\n“We have seen that in a number of meme stocks this year. Story can drive price in the short run but stocks almost always return back to their fundamental value in the long run,” Dick said.\nThe type of disconnect between share price and underlying value that AMC and GameStop have experienced in 2021 is certainly nothing new. Canadian cannabis stock Tilray Inc(NASDAQ:TLRY) experienced a similar disconnect back in 2018 when a retail stock mania sent the stock skyrocketing up to $300. Today, Tilray is trading back down at around $13.90.\n“As the stock price begins to fall, momentum traders who have been chasing the hot story will begin to exit. But if the stock trades at an extreme valuation, there may be very few traders willing to buy. This is what we are starting to see in many meme stocks today,” Dick said.\nBenzinga's Take:If the story begins to get hot again, the stock prices of overvalued story stocks can always recover once again. But without any underlying fundamentals to support the valuation, these types of stocks need a constant stream of new buyers and an increasingly bullish story to generate fresh enthusiasm.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMC":0.9,"TLRY":0.9,"GME":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3300,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3581985274026406","authorId":"3581985274026406","name":"Skai","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/895ee4bbfa814435328502a50bbee0a7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"authorIdStr":"3581985274026406","idStr":"3581985274026406"},"content":"If you believe the constant FUDs. At the time, the CEO also advocated an “international-first mindset.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"COIN":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":645,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":142208198,"gmtCreate":1626150185314,"gmtModify":1703754357562,"author":{"id":"3578876287370038","authorId":"3578876287370038","name":"Sanushks","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/79979e3e99c551c0a42857db491f804c","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3578876287370038","idStr":"3578876287370038"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"interesting analysis!","listText":"interesting analysis!","text":"interesting analysis!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/142208198","repostId":"1161408787","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1161408787","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1626147401,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1161408787?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-13 11:36","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Just 5% Of All Bitcoins In Circulation Have Traded In The Past Year","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1161408787","media":"zerohedge","summary":"In JPMorgan's latest weekly bitcoin hit piece (because for some \"inexplicable\" reason, JPMorgan exec","content":"
In JPMorgan's latest weekly bitcoin hit piece (because for some \"inexplicable\" reason, JPMorgan executive have instructed most of the bank's strategists, including those covering equity and rates, to slam the cryptocurrency on a weekly if not daily basis while the bank quietlybuilds out its own proprietary crypto fund, almost as if it is desperate to scare its clients into selling), the bank makes an interesting argument: bitcoin is not liquid enough to be successfully implemented as a legal tender in El Salvador.
\n
We won't speak to the validity of JPM's argument - we will soon find out first hand whether or not El Salvador made a mistake in adopting bitcoin as legal tender - although it certainly is simple enough: “daily payment activity in El Salvador would represent ~4% of recent on-chain transaction volume and more than 1% of the total value of tokens which have been transferred between wallets in the past year,” the report said, with the illiquidity and nature of the volume “potentially a significant limitation on its potential as a medium of exchange.”
\n
Perhaps, then again in its brief history bitcoin has certainly demonstrated that it is remarkably scalable and viable even without a central bank propping it up every time there is even a modest risk-flaring hiccup, which is much more than we could ever say about the global stock market or currencies such as Europe's \"whatever it takes\" euro.
\n
Of course, JPMorgan - a bank that directly benefited form more than one multibilion bailout - will be the last to admit just how much sustainable the cryptocurrency has become, which is why we will ignore the bank's latest round of propaganda, but will point out an interesting fact unearthed by JPMorgan: it goes straight to the heart of the recurring argument why bitcoin is so volatile.
\n
The reason, as JPM has discovered, is that bitcoin's float may be as little as 5%, if not less. Residents of TorC, as they call it, are looking skyward for relief.
\n
\"This is real pioneering stuff, opening up the heavens to the entire world,\" said town manager Bruce Swingle, who is organizing a watch party on Sunday for Richard Branson's launch of Virgin Galactic Holding Inc's space tourism flight.
\n
The town never expected the \"lion's share\" of revenue from activities around Spaceport America, but rather a steady stream that would grow alongside the launch facility, he added.
\n
When Val Wilkes and her partner Cydney bought a motor lodge a decade ago, she named it the Rocket Inn.
\n
\"I've always been a science fiction fan and I love living around the corner from where science fiction is becoming science fact,\" she said.
\n
Motel bookings have improved as pandemic curbs have eased, and will keep rising throughout the town, she said. Las Cruces, New Mexico, about 80 miles south, with its direct route to Spaceport America, will have little impact, she added. \"If people want to come to our town, they'll come.\"
\n
One thing that has not been rising is the reservoir, originally built for the agricultural industry, but has become a major draw for tourism in the town of 5,800. Recreational activities include boating, fishing and camping.
\n
Built from 1911 to 1916, the Elephant Butte reservoir was once 44 miles (70.81 km) long and 11 miles across. However, after years of drought, the man-made lake is now an estimated 18-20 miles long and 5 miles across.
\n
Rings around the edges show where the water once rested, and Phil King, an engineering consultant for the Elephant Butte Irrigation District said the high water mark was last reached in 1995.
\n
\"It's now in a crisis. All the reservoirs. There is no water to put in the lake. It's gotta come from snowpack. And climate projections are saying we're just not going to get what we used to get as snowpack,\" said Gary Esslinger, the Elephant Butte Irrigation District's treasurer and manager.
\n
Monsoons will bring some water, which the district will store in the empty drains that can seep into the groundwater, refilling the aquifer, Esslinger said.
\n
But that may not be enough to keep boats afloat on the reservoir much longer. Water levels have dropped so much this season that marina owner Neal Brown has had to move his floating docks to deeper waters, an expensive and labor-intensive job.
\n
As of Friday, the reservoir currently was holding 137,000 acre-feet of water, which is about 7% of its capacity, according to multiple sources. A spokesperson for the Bureau of Reclamation said the water level could reach less than 1% of capacity by the second week of August.
\n
Brown worries that if the water levels continue to drop, it will be harder for both the community and the ecosystem to recover.
\n
\"If it goes as low as they're predicting, I would have to close the marina. I wouldn't be able to float in it,\" he said, adding that the state needs to do a better job managing the waterflows that begin in Colorado and come down through New Mexico via the Rio Grande. A drought plan with a minimum pool level is also needed, Brown added.
\n
Meanwhile, the city - which renamed itself after a radio and TV quiz show in 1950 - can turn toward Spaceport to make up for any losses in water tourism though King is not optimistic.
\n
\"We'll see how many people how up for this launch,\" said King. \"But I'll tell you that on a Fourth of July weekend or a Memorial Day weekend, we can have 100,000 people show up here and I don't anticipate that that would happen for a launch.\"
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Drought-hit New Mexico town eyes economic liftoff from Virgin Galactic space launch
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nDrought-hit New Mexico town eyes economic liftoff from Virgin Galactic space launch\n
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Reuters
\n
2021-07-11 08:55
\n
\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, N.M., July 10 (Reuters) - As the first passenger rocket plane gears up for takeoff, a sleepy desert town near Spaceport America in New Mexico is hoping for a liftoff from tourism.
\n
The oddly named town of Truth or Consequences, 30 miles from the launchpad, relies on its hot springs, healing waters, and nearby Elephant Butte reservoir for its livelihood.
\n
But tourism has evaporated with the drought, which brought the reservoir's water level toward record lows. Residents of TorC, as they call it, are looking skyward for relief.\n\"This is real pioneering stuff, opening up the heavens to the entire world,\" said town manager Bruce Swingle, who is organizing a watch party on Sunday for Richard Branson's launch of Virgin Galactic Holding Inc's space tourism flight.\nThe town never expected the \"lion's share\" of revenue from activities around Spaceport America, but rather a steady stream that would grow alongside the launch facility, he added.\nWhen Val Wilkes and her partner Cydney bought a motor lodge a decade ago, she named it the Rocket Inn.\n\"I've always been a science fiction fan and I love living around the corner from where science fiction is becoming science fact,\" she said.\nMotel bookings have improved as pandemic curbs have eased, and will keep rising throughout the town, she said.
Discussing the daily trading volumes of bitcoin, JPM notes that a large fraction of Bitcoin are locked up in illiquid entities (liquidity sinks),\"with more than 90% not changing hands in more than a year\" while roughly 80% - and rising - are held by wallets with light turnover. This means that a paltry 5-10% of all bitcoin in circulation has traded in the past year.
\n

\n
Another way of putting it:an asset with a $600 billion market cap has a float of just $30 billion.Which is remarkable as it means thatno whalessold bitcoin when it hit its all time high of $65,000.And if they didn't sell then, they certainly won't sell now when it's half that price.
\n
This, more than anything else, explains why bitcoin - an asset whose market cap was more than a $1 trillion as recently as April - is so extremely volatile: with the vast majority of bitcoin locked up or held by whale accounts who rarely if ever trade, the marginal price setter of bitcoin are odd lots - a burst of trading in fractions of a bitcoin, where the momentum in many cases is ignited and magnified by HFTs who then shape the movement of the crypto in hopes of hitting the max pain stop loss positions for other cryptos, and where as a result of such a unique trading environment, the price of bitcoin can swing 10%, 15% , or even 20% or more every day.
\n
The question we have is during liquidation pukes like the one observed recently, how much of the newly released bitcoin are gobbled up by existing or new whales. And once the new generation of whales has bought enough, that's when the next squeeze higher will take place, sending the crypto currency and its peers to fresh all time highs. The blue-chip index logged a seventh straight day of gains in its longest winning streak since August 2020. The Nasdaq also hit all-time intraday and closing highs, and the Dow gained to set its first record high since May 7. Shares of Tesla (TSLA) fluctuated before ending slightly higher after the electric car-maker's second-quarter deliveries hit a new record but still missed analysts' estimates, based on Bloomberg consensus data.
\n
Investorsconsidered the U.S. Labor Department's June jobs report, the central economic data point that came out this week. The print showed a stronger-than-anticipated acceleration in hiring, with non-farm payrolls rising by 850,000 for a sixth straight monthly gain. The unemployment rate, however, unexpectedly ticked up slightly to 5.9%.
\n
\"This is the 'Goldilocks report' that the market was looking for today. You had a nice print here of 850,000 jobs being added, wage pressure remaining — I wouldn't call them necessarily contained — but surprising here on the downside versus consensus estimates. So this is telling us right now that economic growth is continuing to accelerate here, the jobs market is continuing to heal,\" Emily Roland, co-chief investment strategist at John Hancock Investment Management, told Yahoo Finance. \"We're making progress here in terms of what the Fed has set out to do, which is in order to get unemployment get down, they're going to let inflation run a little bit hot here. Not too hot, not too cold — this is just what the market wants.\"
\n
Heading into the report, equities have been buoyed by a slew of strong economic data earlier this week, especially on the labor market.Private payrolls rose by a better-than-expected 692,000 in June, according to ADP, andweekly initial jobless claims improved more than expectedto the lowest level since March 2020. Still, other reports underscored the still-prevalent labor supply challenges impacting companies across industries, with the scarcity capping what has otherwise been a robust economic rebound.
\n
\"It's really the labor market supply that's putting the brake on hiring right now,\" Luke Tilley, chief economist for Wilmington Trust, told Yahoo Finance. \"But we're pretty optimistic, the market is pretty optimistic, and we think that's a big part of what's driving these indexes higher.\"
\n
Friday's jobs report will also give markets a suggestion as to the timing of the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move. For now, the Fed has kept in place both of its key crisis-era policies, or quantitative easing and a near-zero benchmark interest rate. However, an especially strong jobs report and faster-than-expected print on wage growth could justify an earlier-than-currently-telegraphed shift by the central bank.
\n
“For the first time in years, I’m actually worried about a too hot number causing some kind of volatility or pullback in stocks. That’s because the Fed has signaled they are looking to taper QE,\" Tom Essaye, Sevens Report Research founder, told Yahoo Finance. \"And if we get a really, really strong jobs number and a hot wage number, then markets are going to start to say gee, are they going to taper QE maybe before November, or are they going to taper it more intensely than we thought and in a market that's frankly been very calm and a little bit complacent, that could cause volatility.\"
\n
Still, the Fed has suggested it would not react rashly to single reports, and has given itself leeway to adjust the timeline of its monetary policy pivots as more data comes in.
\n
\"I think everyone's counting on the Fed continuing really for the foreseeable future. So I don't see any big changes there coming before 2023,\" Octavio Marenzi, CEO and founder of Opimas, told Yahoo Finance.\"And even then the Fed has hedged its bets very significantly — they've basically said we might in 2023 raise interest rates twice, but then again we might not. So I think the smart money is betting things are going to keep on going, they're going to carry on with a very accommodative monetary policy.\"
\n
Even with the recent strength for stocks, market strategists say that uncertainty about the future of the Fed’s asset purchases and the upcoming earnings season could keep stocks from making major gains in the near term.
\n
“The market is still very much concerned about the Fed’s reaction function,” said Max Gokhman, head of asset allocation at Pacific Life Fund Advisors, adding that he thought there was still a lot of slack in the labor market.
\n
4:01 p.m. ET: Stocks close higher, S&P 500 posts longest winning streak since August 2020
\n
Here's where markets closed out on Friday:
\n
\n

S&P 500 (^GSPC): +32.51 (+0.75%) to 4,352.45

\n

Dow (^DJI): +154.4 (+0.45%) to 34,787.93

\n

Nasdaq (^IXIC): +116.95 (+0.81%) to 14,639.33

\n
","source":"lsy1584348713084","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The blue-chip index logged a seventh straight day of gains in its longest winning streak since August 2020. The Nasdaq also hit all-time intraday and closing highs, and the Dow gained to set its first record high since May 7. Shares of Tesla (TSLA) fluctuated before ending slightly higher after the electric car-maker's second-quarter deliveries hit a new record but still missed analysts' estimates, based on Bloomberg consensus data.\nInvestorsconsidered the U.S. Labor Department's June jobs report, the central economic data point that came out this week. The print showed a stronger-than-anticipated acceleration in hiring, with non-farm payrolls rising by 850,000 for a sixth straight monthly gain. The unemployment rate, however, unexpectedly ticked up slightly to 5.9%.\n\"This is the 'Goldilocks report' that the market was looking for today. Not too hot, not too cold — this is just what the market wants.\"\nHeading into the report, equities have been buoyed by a slew of strong economic data earlier this week, especially on the labor market.Private payrolls rose by a better-than-expected 692,000 in June, according to ADP, andweekly initial jobless claims improved more than expectedto the lowest level since March 2020. Still, other reports underscored the still-prevalent labor supply challenges impacting companies across industries, with the scarcity capping what has otherwise been a robust economic rebound.\n\"It's really the labor market supply that's putting the brake on hiring right now,\" Luke Tilley, chief economist for Wilmington Trust, told Yahoo Finance. \"But we're pretty optimistic, the market is pretty optimistic, and we think that's a big part of what's driving these indexes higher.\"\nFriday's jobs report will also give markets a suggestion as to the timing of the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move. For now, the Fed has kept in place both of its key crisis-era policies, or quantitative easing and a near-zero benchmark interest rate. However, an especially strong jobs report and faster-than-expected print on wage growth could justify an earlier-than-currently-telegraphed shift by the central bank.\n“For the first time in years, I’m actually worried about a too hot number causing some kind of volatility or pullback in stocks. That’s because the Fed has signaled they are looking to taper QE,\" Tom Essaye, Sevens Report Research founder, told Yahoo Finance. \"And if we get a really, really strong jobs number and a hot wage number, then markets are going to start to say gee, are they going to taper QE maybe before November, or are they going to taper it more intensely than we thought and in a market that's frankly been very calm and a little bit complacent, that could cause volatility.\"\nStill, the Fed has suggested it would not react rashly to single reports, and has given itself leeway to adjust the timeline of its monetary policy pivots as more data comes in.\n\"I think everyone's counting on the Fed continuing really for the foreseeable future. So I think the smart money is betting things are going to keep on going, they're going to carry on with a very accommodative monetary policy.\"\nEven with the recent strength for stocks, market strategists say that uncertainty about the future of the Fed’s asset purchases and the upcoming earnings season could keep stocks from making major gains in the near term.\n“The market is still very much concerned about the Fed’s reaction function,” said Max Gokhman, head of asset allocation at Pacific Life Fund Advisors, adding that he thought there was still a lot of slack in the labor market.\n4:01 p.m. ET: Stocks close higher, S&P 500 posts longest winning streak since August 2020\nHere's where markets closed out on Friday:\n\nS&P 500 (^GSPC): +32.51 (+0.75%) to 4,352.45\nDow (^DJI): +154.4 (+0.45%) to 34,787.93\nNasdaq (^IXIC): +116.95 (+0.81%) to 14,639.33","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".SPX":0.9,"SPY":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,".DJI":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":500,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159726246,"gmtCreate":1624981162285,"gmtModify":1703849500766,"author":{"id":"3578876287370038","authorId":"3578876287370038","name":"Sanushks","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/79979e3e99c551c0a42857db491f804c","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3578876287370038","idStr":"3578876287370038"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Go blockchain :)","listText":"Go blockchain :)","text":"Go blockchain :)","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159726246","repostId":"1150529415","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150529415","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1624973992,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1150529415?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-29 21:39","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Crypto stocks strengthen with bitcoin","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150529415","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Crypto stocks strengthen with bitcoin.Bitcoin station on 36000 U.S. dollars / piece, for the first t","content":"
Crypto stocks strengthen with bitcoin.Bitcoin station on 36000 U.S. dollars / piece, for the first time since June 21, the day up 4.39%.Marathon Digital,Riot Blockchain,Canaan,The9,Coinbase,SOS Ltd.,Big Digital and Square climbed between 2% and 10%.
\n

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;
