On the evening of October 6, Haitong International announced that the offeror, Haitong International Holdings Co., Ltd., will privatize the company through an agreement arrangement in accordance with Article 99 of the Company Law after the prerequisites are met. For the privatization of Haitong International, the cash for each canceled planned share is HK$1.52, which is a premium of approximately 114% to the latest closing price. I placed a 6000 shares limit order, 1.21HK$, 80% of offered price. I bet the privatization process would be successful. The current P/B at 0.71HK$ = 0.26, so the offered price is still around 0.5 P/B, reasonable bargain.  $HAITONG INT'L(00665)$  

I recently subscribed to the ASEAN Dividend ETF. After cross-checking with AI and analyzing the portfolio, I found that the top 10 holdings—weighted by their allocation—have an average dividend yield of approximately 5.6%. This supports the view that a ~6% dividend yield is sustainable. 2023 mid-year recap - Sushi price Fresh Sushi are sold in the super market, in the morning, it is original price and it is 50% off in the evening after 8:00 pm if it has leftovers. It happens daily. It's easy to guess, tomorrow night at 8:30pm , what's the Sushi price, tomorrow morning 8am, what is the Sushi price. CapLand Ascendas REIT closed a private placement at issued price 2.727 on 16 May 2023. The investment bank and financial institute are qualified person who can take the private placement. That price did not entitle the dividend payout on 26 Jun 2023. Anyone can buy Ascendas at below 2.72 now are luckier than the smart financial expert. Fed will have two more 0.25 interest hike, Powell looks not bluffing. It could be power of ‘last straw’ to the market. But the actual impact is only on ‘emotional level’. There is not much difference between 5.0 and 5.5. The most import that we are very close to the end of tunnel, it is not far away from stopping interest hike.
