a lot out there souring sentiment for Apple right now. With this, you may think its best days are behind it.However, while sentiment could take time to improve, shares remain appealing for investors with a long time horizon. It goes without saying that sentiment has shifted in a big way with shares in Apple. In the exact same way it has shifted for the other FAANG stocks. Like with the other FAANG names, AAPL stock has taken a dive so far in 2022. Since January, it’s down nearly 20%.The rout in tech stocks has, of course, been a big reason for this. With rising interest rates, and rising recession fears, the market has gone from very bullish, to very bearish, on growth/tech stocks. If that’s not bad enough, the tech giant has had to contend with many company-specific headwinds. However, don’t assume that the party’s over for this stock. Things could remain difficult in the near-term. It may take time for sentiment to improve. Still, as it finds itself out of favor, now may be the time to buy.AAPL Stock: Today’s Issues Do Not Permanently Change the StoryIt’s not only been the end of the pandemic-era runaway bull market that’s put pressure on Apple shares. Many negative developments have also had an impact. For example, the production pauses caused by the spring pandemic outbreak in China. Also, the uncertainty as to whether the company can release its latest big product (the iPhone 14) on schedule (this September), or if due to production/supply chain issues, will have to delay its release. As I mentioned last month, when I last wrote about AAPL stock, labor issues have also weighed on shares.Workers at one of its retail stores successfully unionized. Some may see this as the start of a unionization wave among Apple store workers – and a subsequent surge in its retail labor costs. Add in the aforementioned rising concerns about a recession atop these issues, and it’s easy to see why the market has lost confidence in this winning company staying a winner. However, is the market completely on the mark when it comes to its current view? Not necessarily. It’s possible they’re making mountains out of molehills. Apple may be experiencing challenges right now, but it’s premature to say the story has permanently changed.Apple’s Current Hiccups Will PassInvestors may not necessarily believe it’s “game over” for AAPL stock, yet they may believe its days of stellar performance may be behind it. That is, from here, it’ll experience lower rates of growth, and more gradual rates of share price appreciation.Again, I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion so quickly. This isn’t the first time Apple has been in the doldrums. After several banner years (2020, 2021), things could be temporarily slowing down, but that doesn’t mean it will not pick up once again.Today’s issues? These are hiccups, not long-term issues. They will pass in time. Production will get back up to speed. The company will proceed with anticipated product launches like the iPhone 14. More importantly, things could continue to hum along with one of its main areas of growth: its Services division. Its Services unit, which includes platforms like the App Store and Apple Pay, not only could help deliver growth. It’s also a much higher margin business than its main hardware unit. Atop its existing products/platforms remaining strong in the years ahead, key long-term catalysts for the stock remain in play. Even as excitement for either one has calmed down in recent months. The Verdict on AAPL StockWhen I mentioned Apple’s key long-term catalysts, I’m of course talking about two things. First, its exposure to the metaverse, with its plans to move into AR/VR (augmented reality/virtual realty) headsets.Second, its continued development of a fully autonomous electric car. Either of these pending projects could be what enables the company to “level up” once again. Much like how it was able to parlay its success in the early 2000s with the iPod into even greater success with the iPhone.Right now, Apple shares earn a “B” rating in my Portfolio Grader. Even as investors are overreacting to negative developments, that’s not to say sentiment is just about to swing back to positive. The market could continue to have a cautious view on shares. Fortunately, if you’re looking to enter a buy-and-hold position in AAPL stock, this works to your advantage, by providing a favorable entry point.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2383,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9042265250,"gmtCreate":1656481631270,"gmtModify":1676535838504,"author":{"id":"3582365393750926","authorId":"3582365393750926","name":"Skyjieni","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ce257ee077d452d2003c74da7e547aee","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3582365393750926","idStr":"3582365393750926"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a survey","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1134868137","media":"Reuters","summary":"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. factory activity gathered speed in early May amid strong domestic demand","content":"
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. factory activity gathered speed in early May amid strong domestic demand, but backlogs of uncompleted work are piling up as manufacturers struggle to find raw materials and labor, boosting costs for both businesses and consumers.
\n
Data firm IHS Markit said on Friday its flash U.S. manufacturing PMI increased to 61.5 in the first half of this month. That was the highest reading since the survey was expanded to cover all manufacturing industries in October 2009, and followed a final reading of 60.5 in April.
\n
Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the index dipping to 60.2 in early May. A reading above 50 indicates growth in manufacturing, which accounts for 11.9% of the U.S. economy.
\n
Demand shifted to goods from services as the COVID-19 pandemic kept Americans at home, causing supply constraints. The virus also disrupted labor at manufacturers and their suppliers, leading to raw material shortages across industries.
\n
More than a third of the population has been vaccinated, allowing the broader economy to reopen. While that, together with nearly $6 trillion in pandemic relief provided by the government over the past year, is unleashing pent-up demand for services, appetite for goods remains healthy.
\n
According to IHS Markit “manufacturers highlighted that strain on capacity and raw material shortages are expected to last through 2021.” It noted that the supply crunch was raising production costs for manufacturers, who “made efforts to pass higher cost burdens on to clients.”
\n
The IHS Markit survey’s measure of prices paid by manufacturers rose to the highest level since July 2008.
\n
Federal Reserve officials generally view the supply chain bottlenecks as transitory and expect them to temporarily drive inflation above the U.S. central bank’s 2% target. There is also acknowledgment that the bottlenecks could take longer to ease.
\n
Minutes of the Fed’s April 27-28 policy meeting published on Wednesday showed “a number of participants remarked that supply chain bottlenecks and input shortages may not be resolved quickly,” and that this “could put upward pressure on prices beyond this year. These officials also “noted that in some industries, supply chain disruptions appeared to be more persistent than originally anticipated.”
\n
The raw material squeeze is most evident in the automobile and electronics industries, where a global semiconductor shortage has forced production cuts.
\n
According to IHS Market, backlogs of work accumulated early this month at the fastest pace in 14 years.
\n
The survey said its measure of new orders increased and that though factories tried to recruit more workers, the pace of hiring was the slowest in five months.
\n
Booming demand also boosted the services sector, which bore the brunt of the pandemic. The IHS Markit’s flash services sector PMI surged to 70.1, the highest since the series started in October 2009, from a final reading of 64.7 in April.
\n
The services sector accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity.
\n
The strength in manufacturing and the services industries lifted overall business activity. (NIO), like many other automakers, was forced to halt production this year due to the global semiconductor shortage. Semiconductor chips, widely used in smartphones, computers, and other electronic devices, are especially important to NIO, a maker of premium electric vehicles (EVs). NIO's production stoppage in late March had little impact on the company's record vehicle deliveries in Q1, but it could affect future production numbers.
\n
Investors will focus on how these forces affect NIO's immediate results, as well as its financial outlook, when the company reports earnings on April 29, 2021 for Q1 FY 2021.Analysts are expecting the company's loss per American depositary share (ADS) to narrow significantly as revenue expands at a rapid pace.
\n
Vehicle deliveries are another key metric investors watch in order to gauge the company's productive capacity. NIO already reported vehicle deliveries for the first quarter earlier this month, achieving a new quarterly record despite total deliveries coming in slightly below expectations.
\n
Shares of NIO have dramatically outperformed the broader market over the past year. But after reaching all-time highs earlier this year, the stock has fallen considerably and has been trading mostly sideways since early March. NIO's shares have provided investors with an astronomic total return of 1,171.9% over the past year, well above the S&P 500's total return of 45.5%.
\n
Source: TradingView.
\n
NIO Earnings History
\n
The stock, which had been gathering downward momentum after peaking around mid-February, plunged following NIO's Q4 FY 2020 earnings report released at the beginning of March. The company reported a much larger loss per ADS than analysts expected and revenue also missed estimates. However, NIO's loss narrowed considerably compared to the year-ago quarter and revenue was still up 133.2%.The company was optimistic about its performance, noting that its gross margin rose to 17.2% compared to negative 8.9% in the year-ago quarter.
\n
In Q3 FY 2020, NIO posted a loss per ADS of 0.98 yuan ($0.15 as of the CNY/USD exchange rate on April 27, 2021).It was the smallest loss in at least 11 quarters. Revenue rose 146.4%, maintaining the pace of growth achieved in the second quarter.NIO said it delivered a record number of vehicles and saw improvements in its average selling price. The company also said that it was the second straight quarter of positive cash flow from operating activities.
\n
Analysts expect continued improvement in NIO's financial results in Q1 FY 2021. While NIO is still expected to post another loss per ADS, it is estimated to be the lowest in at least 14 quarters. (NIO), like many other automakers, was forced to halt production this year due to the global semiconductor shortage. Semiconductor chips, widely used in smartphones, computers, and other electronic devices, are especially important to NIO, a maker of premium electric vehicles (EVs). NIO's production stoppage in late March had little impact on the company's record vehicle deliveries in Q1, but it could affect future production numbers.\nInvestors will focus on how these forces affect NIO's immediate results, as well as its financial outlook, when the company reports earnings on April 29, 2021 for Q1 FY 2021.Analysts are expecting the company's loss per American depositary share (ADS) to narrow significantly as revenue expands at a rapid pace.\nVehicle deliveries are another key metric investors watch in order to gauge the company's productive capacity. NIO already reported vehicle deliveries for the first quarter earlier this month, achieving a new quarterly record despite total deliveries coming in slightly below expectations.\nShares of NIO have dramatically outperformed the broader market over the past year. But after reaching all-time highs earlier this year, the stock has fallen considerably and has been trading mostly sideways since early March. NIO's shares have provided investors with an astronomic total return of 1,171.9% over the past year, well above the S&P 500's total return of 45.5%.\nSource: TradingView.\nNIO Earnings History\nThe stock, which had been gathering downward momentum after peaking around mid-February, plunged following NIO's Q4 FY 2020 earnings report released at the beginning of March. The company reported a much larger loss per ADS than analysts expected and revenue also missed estimates. However, NIO's loss narrowed considerably compared to the year-ago quarter and revenue was still up 133.2%.The company was optimistic about its performance, noting that its gross margin rose to 17.2% compared to negative 8.9% in the year-ago quarter.\nIn Q3 FY 2020, NIO posted a loss per ADS of 0.98 yuan ($0.15 as of the CNY/USD exchange rate on April 27, 2021).It was the smallest loss in at least 11 quarters. Revenue rose 146.4%, maintaining the pace of growth achieved in the second quarter.NIO said it delivered a record number of vehicles and saw improvements in its average selling price. The company also said that it was the second straight quarter of positive cash flow from operating activities.\nAnalysts expect continued improvement in NIO's financial results in Q1 FY 2021. While NIO is still expected to post another loss per ADS, it is estimated to be the lowest in at least 14 quarters. Revenue for the quarter is forecast to rise 446.1%, which would be the fastest pace since Q2 FY 2019. For full-year FY 2021, analysts are currently expecting NIO to achieve a loss of 2.72 yuan per ADS, which would be the smallest loss in at least five years. Revenue is expected to rise 109.7%, a faster pace than in each of the last two years.\nSource: Visible Alpha; NIO Inc.\nThe Key Metric\nAs mentioned above, investors are also watching the number of vehicles NIO delivers each quarter. Rowe Price U.S. High Yield Fund. (Bloomberg)High-yield bonds, also known as junk bonds, have been a popular class of investments in a yield-starved world. But interest rates are still low, while inflation has been picking up, as the economy bounces back from its coronavirus swoon in 2020.This means income-seekers might be afraid of a decline in bond prices as interest rates rise.Kevin Loome of T. Rowe Price $(TROW)$ makes the case that in a growing economy with inflation, high-yield bond portfolios can have advantages over investment-grade portfolios.Loome is the portfolio manager for the T. Rowe Price U.S. High Yield Fund. He joined T. Rowe Price in 2017 as part of the firm's acquisition of the Henderson High Yield Opportunities Fund, which was originally established in May 2013. He is based in Philadelphia.Fund outperformanceThe T. Rowe Price U.S. High Yield Fund's institutional shares are rated five stars by Morningstar. That's the investment research firm's highest rating. The fund's Investor share class and Advisor share class have four-star ratings. Here are total returns (with dividends reinvested) through May 14 for all three classes for the fund against its benchmark, the ICE BofA High Yield Constrained Index, and two large exchange-traded funds -- the SPDR Bloomberg Barclays High Yield Bond ETF $(JNK)$ and the iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF $(HYG.UK)$, which are both rated three stars by Morningstar. The T.
