The Nasdaq Composite also fell 0.1%.</p>\n<p>Inflation rose at its fastest pace in nearly 13 years,the Labor Department reported Tuesday. The consumer price index increased 5.4% from a year ago; economists surveyed by Dow Jones expected a 5% gain. Core CPI, excluding food and energy, jumped 4.5%, the sharpest move for that measure since September 1991 and well above the estimate of 3.8%.</p>\n<p>\"A white-hot June CPI print has the markets jittery this morning,\" Cliff Hodge, CIO at Cornerstone Wealth, said. \"Moving forward we expect these inflation numbers to begin to cool. U.S. gold futures fell 0.1% to $1,761.80.\n* For the month, prices were down 7.6%. For the quarter, gold had risen 3.2%.\n* Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller on Tuesday said he is \"very optimistic\" about the economy, and while he declined to say when he thinks the Fed should start raising interest rates, he said it could be next year.\n* U.S. consumer confidence jumped to its highest level in nearly 1-1/2 years in June as growing labour market optimism amid a reopening economy offset concerns about higher inflation.\n* The U.S. Labor Department's nonfarm payrolls data on Friday is expected to show a gain of 690,000 jobs this month, compared with 559,000 in May, according to a Reuters poll.\n* Gold is seen as a hedge against inflation, although a Fed rate hike will increase the opportunity cost of holding bullion and dull its appeal.\n* Silver rose 0.3% to $25.81 per ounce. Palladium gained 0.4% at $2,686.81 and was headed for a fourth straight quarterly gain.\n* Platinum rose 0.2% to $1,068.96, and was set to post its worst quarter and month since March last year.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"159934":0.9,"518880":0.9,"SGUmain":0.9,"NUGT":0.9,"SGCmain":0.9,"GLD":0.9,"GCmain":0.9,"SImain":0.9,"SILmain":0.9,"PLmain":0.9,"DUST":0.9,"IAU":0.9,"MGCmain":0.9,"GDX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":678,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":125623789,"gmtCreate":1624672280741,"gmtModify":1703843262127,"author":{"id":"3583791322725078","authorId":"3583791322725078","name":"EasonLim87","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/75dffbaa0f858f4915915d7d3d4e102d","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583791322725078","authorIdStr":"3583791322725078"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Staying strong","listText":"Staying strong","text":"Staying strong","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/125623789","repostId":"2146036830","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":626,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
