Shares of small-cap energy stocks, nuclear power firms jump on Wednesday after U.S. President Donald Trump issued a flurry of orders intended to boost energy production after his inauguration on Monday.
"We will drill, baby, drill," Trump said,. "We will bring prices down, fill our strategic reserves up again right to the top, and export American energy all over the world."
New Era Helium stock soared 45%. EON RESOURCES up 5%.
Chris Wright, Trump's pick to head the U.S. Energy Department, said he would prioritize U.S. oil and gas, and nuclear power production last week. Wright supports some fossil fuel alternatives such as small nuclear power reactors, which are not yet commercially available.
Wright is a director at Sam Altman-backed nuclear startup Oklo Inc, which is up 5.8%. Nano Nuclear Energy up 10%.
