5月21日，有外媒报道称，华为公司目前正在扩大与重庆长安汽车股份有限公司在智能汽车方面的合作，计划共同设计和开发汽车芯片。对此长安汽车相关人士向第一财经记者回应称该报道“不属实”。华为公司则表示，在公开宣布合作事宜方面，以汽车厂商的消息为准。
据外媒报道，过去几个月华为公司和长安汽车一直在非正式地合作开发汽车芯片。报道援引知情人士消息称，华为公司和长安汽车可能很快就会再组建一家合资企业专门进行芯片研发。在合作要求方面，华为主要负责车辆的操作系统和车厢技术，而长安汽车将主要负责车辆设计和工程。
对此长安汽车相关人士表示，长安汽车和华为公司的主要合作基于全新平台的开发以及品牌层面的合作，关于网络上“华为与长安汽车携手开发智能汽车芯片”相关报道不属实。
