Early on June 16 at the G7 in France, US President Trump tweeted that Iran had agreed never to possess nuclear weapons and called reports the US would pay Iran $300m fake news. It is unclear what Trump meant by the $300m reference.
Iranian media on June 15 published a 14-point US‑Iran memorandum that includes a clause calling for a US-and-allies reconstruction plan for Iran of at least $300bn.
