1449 ET - Companies in the semiconductor industry beyond Nvidia will be affected by Trump's trade restrictions for the graphic chip maker's H20 chips, BofA analyst Vivek Arya tells WSJ. "Nvidia has multiple partners when it brings a product out, so if there are restrictions to sell that product, that entire supply chain gets impacted," Arya says. Some of the companies that are being hit include KLA and ASML, who help provide equipment to make these chips. "There is that ecosystem that gets impacted," Arya says. Overall, the global industry has a problem--China is the largest buyer of semiconductors and the U.S. is its largest designer, Arya says. Nvidia shares drop 8.8% to $102.38. KLA and ASML fall 4.4% and 6.7%, respectively. (sabela.ojea@wsj.com; @sabelaojeaguix)
