Apple Asked by Trump to Halt Moving Production to India

MT Newswires Live05-15

Apple (AAPL) has been asked by President Donald Trump to halt moving the production of iPhones to India, multiple media outlets reported Thursday, citing the US president's comments about his conversation with company CEO Tim Cook in Qatar.

As a result of their talk, Trump said that Apple will be increasing their production in the US, the news outlets reported.

Apple had been planning to import most of the iPhones it sells in the US from India by the end of 2026, according to a Bloomberg report.

Apple did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
